Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. Quiet Riverside Mountain Villa — Doratei

Nestled deep in the mountains of the Kumano region, Doratei—“Residence with a Gong”—offers peace, quiet, and a retreat into nature. Set by the crystal-clear Hidakagawa River at the foothills of Mt. Nenjudake, the only sounds you’ll hear are birdsong and flowing water. Ideally located in the heart of the Kii Peninsula, it’s the perfect base for exploring by car, with Mt. Koya, Shirahama, and the UNESCO-listed Kumano Hongu Taisha and Nachi Falls just over an hour away.

between kamikura shrain and hayatama shrain at the walk 10min. It takes 15min by walking from house to JR Shingu Station. There isn't anyone in the house. You can relax very much. Other things to note. This place has an official permission from local government and satisfied fire safety as a short term rental accommodation. Please note that we have legal obligation in Japan to request copy of passports.

Koyasan Pilgrimage route／villa

Japan's tiny home, with two guest rooms, is an excellent way to get to Koyasan. This house is reserved for one set per day. A maximum of 4 people can stay, but we also welcome smaller numbers. An additional charge is required from the second person. Since the nearest station is JR station, you can use the "Japan Rail Pass" to come here. There is a kitchen and you can prepare your own meals.
