熊野古道に泊まる - KOZA River House 湯川邸

Amazing traditional Japanese style home with amazing shower. Highly recommend the home, the location is in an area with not much to do though. We stayed here for Nachi falls, which is about 30min away. If you are looking for a place to unwind after big city life this place is perfect.
A simple restroom is depicted, featuring a standard toilet and basic amenities. The wooden walls give a rustic feel, while natural light enters from a nearby window, illuminating the space. The surrounding greenery is visible through the doorway, enhancing the connection with nature.

Enjoy the starry sky surrounded by greenery in a private old house - great value for 2 or more people and long stays! About a 5-minute drive to the sea! Bonfire available upon request

Amazing find. Hidden treasure. Sorrounded by a lush green forrest and the sounds of birds. Not a super easy find. Very narrow road, the last couple of meters. (We felt like entering a hidden world from a Studio Ghibli movie: or at least understood the experience these are based on.) The nearest supermarked is a 15 minute drive. We loved the supermarked at 20 minutes. Close to the Hashiguiiwa Rocks. There were some very large spiders, especially after a night of rain, and I am anxious, but still: this was my favourite AirBnB stay in eight days Japan. Very much recommended!
A tranquil river flows between large, moss-covered rocks, surrounded by lush greenery. The water appears smooth and silky, reflecting the natural light. A road is visible in the background, framed by trees, contributing to the serene atmosphere of the landscape.

Welcome to the guest house above the clouds. Highland View

This place was amazing! It is nestled in the mountain with the most spectacular view. The roads are extremely narrow and mostly single lane to the property, however it was completely worth it for the views, peace and tranquility. The photos don’t do it justice. Would love to come back!

網ノ屋 Beach House Ezura

We had an amazing weekend at this beautiful home. The host and his family were absolutely lovely, warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They were super flexible with both our late check-in and check-out, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. The house itself is a charming blend of tradition and comfort. It’s over 100 years old with classic tatami rooms, yet features a spotless, modern kitchen that was a joy to cook in. Just a minute’s walk from the coast, it felt peaceful and secluded, yet close enough to enjoy the beach whenever we wanted. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended!

A modern dining table with a unique shape is surrounded by three minimalist chairs. The table's light wood finish contrasts with the sleek white legs, adding a contemporary touch to the space. Natural light is filtering in through the nearby window.

We stayed for a month. Risa’s place is perfect, 5 stars. It’s spacious, new, nicely decorated. We love the location and everyday we bike to the seaside to fish or just have a stroll around, with the two bikes Risa provides. It’s also very convenient to bike to the supermarket which is just around the corner. Ten minutes and we can be in Kii Tanabe train station where we started our journey to Kumano Kodo or Shirarahama or rent a car for a trip. Another highlight of the area is, five minutes to the onsen hotel just next to the sea, we soaked ourselves every other day there overlooking the sea. Risa is very helpful in every aspect. It’s our magical month in Wakayama!
A bright bathroom features wooden paneling and a small window providing natural light. A modern toilet and a sink are available, with a towel hanging nearby. A small rug lies near the entrance, and slippers are placed on the floor.

Stay in a renovated traditional house and support free school.

TeraRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is a wonderfully renovated traditional Japanese cabin. Best bagels and bread!! Super community and school. Thank you to the kind host Midori and her colleague at the school who showed us around and who bakes the delicious bread. Support them by staying here.
The villa features a modern architectural design, elevated on a hillside. Illuminated windows glow warmly against the twilight, showcasing the welcoming ambiance. A wooden fence surrounds the property, and the structure's expansive, angular roof lines add to its distinctive character.
