About 1 hour and 30 minutes to Koyasan. 1 hour and 30 minutes to Kumano Kodo. The bus from JR Wakayama Station East Exit to Kansai International Airport is convenient and takes about 40 minutes.

Our trip in Shirahama this time really made perfect by encountering such a warm and caring host.The host is a gracious eldest and speaks fluent English and communicates very smoothly.On the day of our arrival, he personally drove to the station to pick us up, which made us feel full of kindness and peace of mind as soon as we arrived. On the way from the station to the homestay, the host introduced us to the scenery and must-go spots along the way, like a professional local guide.He will tell you "which famous spot is this side", "where to go a little further", and even if it's your first time in Shirahama, you won't feel lost or nervous at all.When he arrived at the homestay, he carefully explained to us the time it took to walk from the accommodation to various attractions, and thoughtfully prepared his hand painted map, which was very clearly marked, and it was as warm and practical as a treasure map. The room itself is also fantastic, the space is spacious and tidy, and the view from the window is stunning - the view from the whole of Shirahama is meticulously open.Every time you get up and open the curtains and see the picturesque scenery in front of you, I think this trip is too worthwhile. The host was very respectful of our privacy throughout the stay and was always ready to support us when we needed help.Can feel like he's not just taking this as a job, it's more like taking care of every traveler as a friend. The room was spotless and spacious for a solo traveller like me. Hiroko even picked me up from the train station and dropped me off there when I was leaving. This is one of the few best among my many AirBnB stays. This is more than 5 stars in my view and I'd give 10 if possible. I'll definitely book it again in my next Wakayama trip. Thanks Hiroko!
