We loved our stay at this charming farm! The beauty and tranquility of this place is beyond words. The houses on the farm are beautifully decorated and the host was super welcoming. The highlight of our stay was definitely the chance to disconnect from daily life and simply enjoy nature. We visited the nearby villages and hiked to the top of the Serra da Estrela, which was an unforgettable experience. We spent our days exploring the vast lands and admiring the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. In the evenings, we kicked back in the hammocks, enjoying the mountain breeze and the sound of birds chirping in the distance. The local cheese was a real treat, it was one of the tastiest cheeses I've ever had! All in all, our stay at this farm was an experience we will never forget. We returned home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I would highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for a natural getaway. Thank you so much for sharing your little slice of paradise with us!

The house is spacious, beautiful, well decorated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The garden is very nice and provided some good evenings playing cards as a family. The location is quiet, but close to beautiful areas to visit (if you are by car). An excellent choice for a few days of rest, with the beauty of the green and the river.

We had an amazing time at Fernando’s place! The scenery is beautiful and the house was perfect for the relaxing trip we were hoping for! The locals in Valhelhas are so friendly and fun to be around. Our stay in this small village was fantastic! We can only recommend Fernando’s place!

The house has a beautiful view, it was clean and they even left us some treats. Communication was excellent, super responsive and friendly. The neighbors are also very friendly and helpful.

the accommodation is very well furnished, everything is well thought out, Netflix, bread in the morning, kitchen essentials, and jacuzzi very appreciated after a day of hiking. Beautiful pool with deckchairs for relaxing. i would go back again

Our stay was perfect. Teresa and Jorge are wonderful hosts, who have pampered us throughout our stay. They are always available and looking to satisfy any wishes or needs we may have. The house is really unique and special, full of history and beautiful decoration, antiques and exquisite details. Children and adults have been so comfortable with the pool, the weather, the barbecue, the outdoor furniture,... that we have enjoyed the house more than the obligatory tourist visits to the city and the area. 100% Recommended

Maybe not for everyone but us we experienced the house and surroundings as a little paradise. The house has character and the whole lot around it is beautiful. It is quiet and has lots of space. The pool is real pool, and not an enlarged sort of bath tub. A beautiful view is included. The house is well equipped, everything worked well. The shoreline is a 40+ minute drive and worthwhile visiting. One can walk kilometers on the wooden board walk or bike along. Even to Porto along the shore which is really not far away. It passes Afurada………… you may want to plan a stop there for excellent sea food at a very reasonable price Hiking trails are in the area. Do some smart shopping for groceries and the like at a supermarket, we did not find anything close by. Maybe a minus for some, if you like to go out and enjoy night life nearby, that is a no-go.

I loved this place! Host was so responsive to all of my messages (both prior to and during my stay) providing me with helpful information for our arrival, checkin and stay.The AirBnB has excellent amenities and I made a lot of use of the kitchen and common space. Very quiet área with amazing landscaping views. Highly recomended

Very clean and tidy house, fragrant With plenty of fresh air, with good space, I recommend it for total rest. It could have a swimming pool in the house, it was ideal for a summer vacation

The most beautiful air bnb which you won't regret booking! The garden is simply out of this world....the pool, the flowers, the large lawn area, the fresh water source straight from the mountains, the views and the tranquility were simply astonishing. The house itself is sweet and compact but has everything you need and is well thought out. We had the most perfect week here and we're already planning when we'll be back as we loved it that much- a wonderful stay in the most serene area.

We loved that walking through the picturesque village you can get to the river where you can get in and enjoy!

Spacious & clean with a great view + pool

We absolutely loved staying here. Ricardo was super friendly and helpful. Quinta Freiera is a stunning farm with loads of grape vines, lemon trees, orange trees, passion fruit, etc. It was so special to stay in a house that has been in his family for over 200 years. I highly recommend this quinta!

Amazing location with incredible views. Beautiful property with great interior design and well chosen artwork, sympathetic to the original school. Thanks to Tania and Carla for the care and attention and for the outstanding breakfast each day. And for doing a shop for us on the first day before our arrival. We would definitely recommend the chef at home meal. Great food and service by the guys with traditional Portuguese dishes on offer. Fantastic stay; we didn’t want to leave….ever! Outstanding! I can't say enough about how incredible this Airbnb was, Carla and her property were so beyond expectations. My family and I felt extremely comfortable there, it is remote but absolutely beautiful. We were not able to use the pool, because the weather was a little bit cold. I jumped in for like 20 minutes and even though it was cold it was very nice. Carla was so communicative the entire time we were there, she made lots of helpful suggestions and helped us to book a tour around the Douro Valley and surrounding areas. She and a friend also cooked us breakfast every morning, which was delicious and helped us to start our day. 10 out of 10, I would absolutely return.

Quiet location (which was what we wanted), excellent house, views, spacious (inside and outside/garden), lots of extras/gifts from the host, who was impeccable. I recommend it and we'll possibly return with warmer temperatures.

This was the best Airbnb we ever stayed in. The house is specious and clean, the view is spectacular, the pool is beautiful and there are plenty activities for everyone. Above all, Fernanda cooked for us amazing dinners with fresh fish and meat, and fresh vegetables and fruits from her garden. This was delicious. Thank you Fernanda for your hospitality ❤️

Wow! So much more than the photos show. We were a group of 6 traveling Portugal and added the Douro to the itinerary for beauty and relaxation, we weren’t disappointed. Communication was fantastic, the house is extremely well equipped for cooking and leisure and the beds were really comfortable. Every corner of the house has a wow moment. The surrounding property was beautiful to walk around, none of us wanted to leave for the next leg of our trip. A special mention to Antonia the caretaker who was very helpful and friendly. If you’re planning on touring the wineries and in need of a driver Paulo is fantastic and can be contacted via the host. We will be back.
