Beach house vacation rentals in Virginia

This is our third year (or is it four?) renting David and Johanna's place for the Lake Marshall Disc Golf Open week. As usual, they were great hosts, very responsive, very helpful, great communicators, looked out for us and more. We look forward to future stays!.

Less than .5 miles from sand . The kids loved staying at the house versus a hotel ! Was the perfect spot to relax and go on the deck to hear the water . Would definitely go back for another vacation.

Great spot near the beach and town and close enough that you can walk to both. Home was very clean, updated, and well appointed, but still had the charm of a beach cottage. Kitchen had all we needed for cooking and the front porch was perfect for relaxing and watching our kids bike and scooter up and down the sidewalk. Anna was so responsive and helpful with any questions we had. We hope to come back again soon.

My wife is a bit of a planner so scheduling a last-minute getaway is not something I do often, but I'm so glad I did. This was exactly what we needed, A few days away from the stresses of life and family. This home met all of those needs. It was quiet, secluded and overall a very beautiful location and home. It had everything we needed and more. The small towns of White Stone and Kilmarnock offered many fantastic food options which we definitely took advantage of. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. We have already started looking to see if we can plan a trip here with the whole family. Thanks again to our host who was very responsive and helped answer all of our questions.

Great location and host. The home was the perfect size for my family and friends.

Staying at the Blue Heron Hideaway checked all the boxes for what we were looking for! It was very relaxing, comfortable, spacious and very beautiful throughout. We were so excited that it was just steps away from its own wide sandy beach with kayaks, a canoe, a paddle board and a fun floating dock, allowing our whole family to be together on the lake at same time! We had so many places to relax and enjoy being together, including a large hammock, a fire pit, and lots of big Adirondack chairs all in a row on the beach. Daniel, our host, was very quick to get back with us on any questions we had and very responsive to help and follow up to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for! And it was! It was hard to leave this beautiful home and setting but we are hopeful to enjoy it again soon!

We had a great time at Nicholas and Dana's place! It was both fun and relaxing. We really enjoyed the little beach, the dock and the kayaks. We caught some catfish and one tiny crab in the crab trap (and threw everything back in). It was nice to have the firepit and hot tub to use too. And, the kids really liked being downstairs in their own space. The only issues were that the key pad wasn't working to get in to the front door which was frustrating after a long drive and the grill was very slow to heat up and probably needs to be replaced. Overall, this home was a really good choice for us and we would stay again when visiting family in the area.

Beautiful home within walking distance to everything you need, especially the beach and restaurants. Clean home with cozy feel. My son never wanted to leave the beautiful pool at the property. Would recommended to families!!

Andrea was so responsive from day 1 when I had questions about the house! We had 10 people in town for a wedding and her house was only 3 miles from the venue which was ideal! The house was clean and had nice little extra touches; the bottom floor was surprisingly spacious and perfect for hanging out! And the hot tub was a nice add also! Overall, it was a great experience!

Our stay was amazing and the house fit our needs perfectly. It was super clean and decorated beautifully. The walk to the beach was quick and easy and the location of the house is nice and quiet and away from the crowds and traffic! It's also a quick drive to the convention center and many restaurants and shops. It was also nice not having to pack so much extra beach stuff to bring along (chairs, wagon, etc) because they had it all available to use. My kids loved the pool, playing Jenga on the porch and corn hole outside. My husband and older son took the bikes out for a spin too. We had a few questions before and during the stay and Bradley was very responsive and helpful every time. We will definitely stay here again if we head back to Virginia Beach next year! I had a fantastic experience staying at Sandbridge Stay. The property was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was perfect, close to beach, but still quiet and peaceful for a good night’s rest.

The house was super clean when we got there, the temperature of the house was great the entire stay. The pool was certainly clean, but since we went early, June the water was a little bit cold, but it felt really nice and refreshing honestly. There were three beach chairs and a wagon there that were helpful for traveling to the beach. There were available cups plate, utensils, and all the necessities that you would need, they even had shampoo and conditioner bottles there for us. We weren’t aware that there was a code to get into the house so instructions for check-in were a little bit unclear, but all I had to do is message and they responded. Overall, I would recommend staying here because even though the area surrounding isn’t the nicest, I felt safe the entire time at that house!

Denise is so sweet, she packed the kitchen with water, coffee, fruit and snacks. She even messaged me to check on me when I was out late, knowing that I traveled there alone. I felt so cared for and would recommend and use her location again. Hopefully Soon, Thanks for everything❣️

If you want a peaceful, waterfront getaway, this is the spot. The house is very accommodating, and has a lot of amenities - the Breville espresso machine was a huge hit. But, even the espresso machine couldn't compete with the private dock. We spent our nights with relaxing down there with lines in the water. Everyone that attended agreed this AirBnB was perfect. And to top it off, the hosts were very nice and communicative. We could tell that they truly wanted to make sure our stay was a good one. If you are looking for a getaway stay in Stafford area, really consider this place.

Very private, peaceful place. Exceeded expectations of description. Very comfortable. It had a gas grill which made it great for preparing meals. Kitchen was very thoroughly stocked with wth everything needed. Comfortable beds. 4-5 Kayaks were great for the back bay (pond) area. It is quite shallow in spots for kayaking, but enjoyed seeing the bald eagles, blue heron, and ospreys. both water areas are tidal. Beach area was great for fishing and sitting in out. Kilmarnock was a 30 min drive. it was a nice area for eating and shopping. Would love to stay again. Great place if you want to stay put and unwind.

Had a great weekend at Ryan's place. Ryan sent a pretty comprehensive guide once we booked with instructions that were clear how to get into the property, what was available, and how to use all the amenities which was very helpful. This was one of the most well-stocked airbnbs we have ever stayed in. The property is gorgeous and we loved spending every minute outside. Highly recommend and would re-book again.

Great for a group/family weekend getaway. Erin and Aryn are very hospitable hosts and provided all the essentials. Everything in the kitchen and all the light switches are clearly labeled, making it easy to navigate.

Absolutely amazing stay. The house is beautiful and the location could not be better. The biggest regret I have is not staying longer. If you are thinking about booking, do yourself a favor and do it now!

First of all, this house and the views are STUNNING. This was the first vacation that I have taken with my fiancé and our 2 pups, and we had the best time--it was such a sad day when we had to leave lol. We basically ordered Doordash and Walmart Pickups the entire time we were there and never left the property during our stay. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the cookware you could need, there are kayaks and paddle boards for entertainment, and plenty of floats for relaxing in the bay. There is a little private beach within 1 min walking distance from the house and there is access to the water from the backyard. It had everything we wanted for a relaxing vacation with our pups. I am already working on convincing my fiancé that we need to go back in the near future. 10/10 would recommend.

Kimberley and Patrick's house is a wonderful retreat on the Potomac River. It's brand new, very bright, well-equipped and located in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood in the small town of Colonial Beach. We were able to use it for relaxing days and exploring Washington and the surrounding area. Kimberley and Patrick live part-time in the neighborhood and are always available for questions and chats. It was important to Kimberley that we felt comfortable, that everything was okay for us, and that she could give us recommendations for excursions. We liked the view of the water from the kitchen and terrace, the well equipt kitchen, the TV chairs and the washing and drying facilities, which allowed us to travel lighter so we had more space for souvenirs :-) One of my colleagues is considering visiting Washington and Virginia in the near future. I would definitely recommend Kimberley and Patrick's house to her.
