Our 5 night stay at The Gite was a magical and peaceful retreat. The home offers a serene, bucolic escape that feels like stepping into a slower, more beautiful rhythm of life while conveniently located on the threshold of Ruckle Provincial Park. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by Nancy who was lovely and welcoming. She set the tone for our cozy and comfortable experience. The home itself is thoughtfully appointed and radiates charm. It’s the kind of place that makes you say, “I can move in here!” One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying delicious homemade scones and muffins from Robert and delivered twice during our visit. It was a thoughtful and memorable touch that made us truly cared for. Each afternoon we watched deer wander across the great lawn for a nibble; a daily visit that only deepened our sense of calm and connection to nature. Whether you’re hiking through the adjacent park or soaking in the tranquility from the comfort of The Gite, this is a gem.

Great cozy little cabin! Feels extremely private but Michele’s place is close by in case you need her, and we loved the visits from her dogs and hearing the frogs on the pond at night. Was extremely safe at night :) Had everything you need in the kitchen to cook with and the bed was very comfy for two. Loved having breakfast outside and seeing the deer watching us eat! So cute. Central on the island - walking distance to a restaurant/shops and a 5 min drive literally everywhere else. Michele was a very friendly host and gave us some tips on nice walks and where to take our kayak! Had a great stay :)

We really enjoyed our time at Trish’s place! It was very clean, had a beautiful view, and all the animals were so adorable. Trish and Nick were also wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Julie and Ians place. Waking up to the alpacas in front of our patio was so delightful and our son loved visiting the chickens, horses and playing with Isla, the dog. We left the French doors open when we were home and enjoyed playing on the grassy patch in front of our patio. Coombs market is just a couple minutes drive away and the kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals. It is such a peaceful spot surrounded by nature to enjoy breakfast and dinner. We stayed at Arrowvale campground in the air bnb for our friends wedding. Second time staying there and everything was great again. Beautiful spot right by the river and conveniently located the same place as the wedding 10 outta 10. We were able to check in early and everything was clean. Great hosts. Thanks

I had a deeply restful stay at the Singing Frog cabin. Quiet and tranquil, the cabin is surrounded by flowers that are visited by hummingbirds and lazy honeybees. Beautifully decorated with art from local artists, and fresh peonies from the garden. The kitchen had everything I needed and Kathryn even brought me over some olive oil. Spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed. I would return in a heartbeat. The chickens were fun to watch too! Thank you for sharing your cabin!

Beautiful character home on a farm setting. Home had everything needed to feel right at home and the location was perfect for a proper disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved sleeping at night with the windows open and hearing the frogs and in the morning the turkeys gobbling. Had suppers on the patio overlooking the yard everyday. Will definitely stay with Eve again if I’m in the area!

We had a great time at Scott's place. It was well equipped, comfortable and felt very homely and welcoming. Scott was very friendly and responded immediately to any queries. He gave us helpful tips for local walks and wildlife viewing. We particularly loved watching hummingbirds just outside the lounge windows. We would recommend Karmix Cottage to anyone wanting a get away from it all break, but within easy reach of beaches, waterfalls and forests.

We had a great time at Cari and Ryan’s place! The view from the patio is just wonderful on a sunny day.

Very nice rural spot, but still. Quick drive into town, trail walk spots, and other outdoor stuff. Also nice for just walking the quiet neighbourhood. Clean, quiet, and all amenities we needed were there.

Kelli's place is tucked away in a very quiet area, surrounded by nature, yet fully stocked and beautifully maintained. There was a lot of attention to detail throughout the home to make your stay comfortable, complete with a great kitchen, hot tub and an absolutely lovely porch with hummingbirds swinging by every day. We were four adults and had a very relaxing time, ending the stay with extremely satisfied elderly parents✌️The goats were also very cute. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay!

What an amazing stay! Waking up and having a coffee with the donkeys was the highlight of our mornings! If you’re looking for quiet, small, and WONDERFUL, this is the place! Has everything we needed for a mini luxury weekend

Sheila’s place was beautiful, we felt right at home. The beds and couch are super comfy. Sheila pays attention to detail and is very thoughtful about her guests. We loved visiting the goats and the farm fresh eggs were an added bonus in the morning! Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay in this tiny home! it was spotlessly clean, had a beautiful bathroom, and was cosy and warm at night. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, I don't think we've slept that comfortably in a long time! The covered patio space outside is a great living area extension and makes it seem like you have more space. There were fresh eggs from the resident hens in the fridge and they were delicious! You can tell they take fantastic care of their animals and we got to meet their 2 dogs Mishka and Moose, who were very sweet! The hosts, Andrea and Jean Claude were absolutely amazing, super friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed, but at the same time made sure we had our privacy! Would 100% stay here again and plan to!

Perfect for animal lovers! The goats, chickens and peacocks welcomed us and provided lots of entertainment! Many other animals to discover while you are there. I won’t spoil it by listing them. Stunning location, amazingly renovated farm cottage. Would have loved to stay longer.

I can't say enough good things about this house. It is such a special spot. From the minute we walked in we felt right at home. What stunning surroundings. The location is so quiet you can hear all of nature around you. We saw river otters and seals from the awesome deck, so many varieties of birds and critters. Seriously do yourself a favor and visit this place. I'm already planning our return and I got home yesterday.

Denver & Katrina are amazing hosts! This was my parents’ first time in the US and they absolutely LOVED the farm experience The jacuzzi and sauna were incredible after long days exploring. Such a perfect way to unwind and relax together as a family. These hosts really know how to make you feel welcome. We had so much fun and made memories we’ll never forget. Can’t wait to come back! Faith and David were very hospitable hosts. Their farm is very pleasant and peaceful. The quiet of the surroundings, the diverse bird species and the fresh eggs and vegetables really made the stay very memorable. I enjoyed speaking with these wonderful hosts and I will be rebooking in the future!

We had a truly lovely weekend stay at Susan and John’s place! We felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived. Susan and John are incredibly friendly and gracious hosts who made our stay feel like a home away from home. Their property is absolutely beautiful, especially the backyard, which features a serene pond surrounded by lush greenery. Our little one, had the best time exploring! He loved feeding the fish in the pond, watching the chickens and roosters, and playing fetch with their sweet dog, Millie. Their other dog was equally friendly, and it was such a joy to see our 1.5 year old interact with the animals. This stay was the perfect blend of peaceful nature and warm hospitality. We’re so grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone, especially families with young children!

Fantastic stay and delivered the solitude in nature that I was looking for. It was a great way to experience the San Juans. The view was stunning, the access to the beach was stellar, and one of the best ways to spend a few days relaxing. The loaner vehicle was perfect to get us from dock to house. Reminder, for anyone looking to book this airBNB, please be mindful of what you pack and bring as there is no store to quickly run to if you forgot something. Also, you need to pack out your recyclables & non-compostables. Overall, would stay again and have already recommended it to others as an Eco-friendly vacation destination.

We had a great 3-night stay at Bonnie and Dave's place. We enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, the hot tub, and the outdoor fire pit. Bonnie and Dave even let us put up our tent in front of the Airbnb, so that my husband and son could have a bit of a "camping" experience--something our son had wanted to do all summer. The kitchen was well-equipped for making family meals, and we appreciated Bonnie's freshly baked muffins, eggs, and other food she left for us. The location of the Airbnb worked well for a fun day trip to Salt Spring Island via the Crofton ferry, being only a 15-20 minute drive from Crofton, and it was only about a 40-minute drive from the Kinsol Trestle section of the Cowichan Valley Trail, which we enjoyed biking along. Bonnie, Dave, and their dog, Sawyer, were away during our stay, so we didn't get to meet them on this visit, but they were always prompt, helpful, and friendly with all their communications. Thanks again for a great stay, Bonnie and Dave!
