Tent vacation rentals in Uva Province

What a beautiful place to stay. The tent was clean and tidy and the shower and toilet functioned well. Daily cleaning and making up of a very comfortable bed was a treat. However, the people here made it a joy. Raj and his team put in long hours and work so hard to make the safari camp as perfect as possible for guests. They were all, so respectful, considerate, friendly and happy and couldn’t do enough for you. If you are used to 5 star luxury hotels then this isn’t the place for you. But if you want to experience rusticity surrounded by nature, sharing surroundings with monkeys, monitor lizards, geckos, frogs, birds and insects then this is perfect. We also booked our safaris through the camp (Mahoora) and saw so much everyday. Our thanks go to all the staff involved in making our time truly memorable. We highly recommend this to anyone.

I absolutely loved my stay. The location, albeit quite remote, is stunning and set up in a very spacious way so that privacy for all guests is ensured. Staff service is very professional, helpful and impeccable. The hosts offer lots of additional activities, like different walks or games, besides the obvious safaris. The safari was great, with a very knowledgeable guide and very tasty packed food. Food at the campsite is very decent with, again, an impeccable service. The tents are beyond comfortable, and not at all what I expected (being Dutch, camping generally means living in abject poverty by choice). All in all, I would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great stay. The name, Luxurious Tent, was so accurate. It was a super luxurious space for camping. Incredibly clean, comfortable, and practical. Who could have expected a hot shower after swimming or coming back from safari? My kids could not eat spicy food but the host arranged a special menu for us. We were lucky to see two leopards in one morning safari. It was a perfect experience toys us with young children. Thank you.

We had such a nice experience, worth every penny spent on it. Great service, food was nice, very kind and knowledgeable tour guide! We got super lucky and saw 2 leopards and hundreds of other animals. The tents are so very nice, comfortable beds, bathroom, fan and everything you need.

Great place to relax with a tasty buffet. Close to Udawalawa national park, with great drivers/guides. Shante was our driver, really nice man. Remember to bring mosquito repellent for being outside.

We had a wonderful time glamping here. The tents were definitely luxury for camping standards, really clean and super comfortable beds. The tents do get very hot in the day but there are cool areas to relax in the shade on site, we also found that we were cool overnight so slept really well. All the staff are very friendly and work really hard - they clearly care about their community and the environment too. We went on an afternoon safari from Yala which was organised by the hosts and had a brilliant time - a lovely touch was to be greeted by tea and freshly baked snacks on our return. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing break immersed in nature.

I can only describe our visit as a once-in-a-lifetime-happening. After a super tasty dinner under the stars, we slept in a luxurious tent. Early in the morning, we took off to the National Park with Nilantha. Nilantha is a biologist with loads of knowledge about animals and wildlife. He is a strong believer in sustainable eco-tourism and you could tell that he loves the nature, animals and wildlife-experience with all his heart. He explained everything about the park and the animals we saw to us and answered all our questions, all day long. He has wonderful colleagues who drove us around the park while he guided us through the park and who cooked an incredible dinner and lunch-boxes for us. Definitely ask for the all-day tour through the park when you book this Airbnb and bring lots of interest and questions! It was such a precious experience and we could not be more thankful. Won't forget, will recommend 💚 Thank you so much.

Great location, amazing waterfall, beautiful view, delicious traditional food and a nice family who was hosting us. Everything you wish for during your stay. Loved the small place in the middle of nature. I hope to come back some day!

Les équipes se sont montrées très accueillantes malgré la très grosse pluie lors de notre arrivée, nous avons été accompagnés à notre tente avec un parapluie et mis à l'aise. Le dîner était très bon. Nous n'avons pas pu profiter pleinement de l'expérience du camping au vu de la pluie mais c'était tout de même très agréable !

Anuruddha has created a magical campsite in the middle of thick jungle. The safari tents are on par with those in the Okavango Delta in Botswana - artistically furnished, with some lovely coffee table books, and very private. The walk from the drop-off point to the campsite sets the scene for what is to come - passing lots of fresh elephant dung, crossing small streams and through beautiful jungle. Regretfully I only stayed one night so was unable to do a long walking trek, which is supposed to yield lots of wildlife including elephant. The meals are somewhat pricey, but one has to consider that every item of food and drink has to be carried in through the jungle. Staff were all very professional and friendly. Great stay, will be back for a longer period.

The view was breathtaking and was such an amazing experience. The staff was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend Hideaway Destination camping, Ella. And would love to visit again.
