Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

We had the best time here! Penny and Ant were so welcoming and kind. They gave us maps and recommended nice walks in the area which was so helpful. The shepherds hut itself was perfect, really cosy with the wood fire stove and great selection of games. It has everything you need, nice hot shower and Penny provides delicious breakfast food and scones. Such a special place, can’t recommend enough!

This is our 5th time staying at The Glade. Myself, my son and our pooch love it there. Its so private, quiet and i love to sit amongst the wildlife and bird watch. A nice walk in the woods right beside the hut or just a chilled swing in the hammock. It is our favourite place to unwind. I love how everytime we visit the surroundings look different with the ever changing wildlife. It is as beautiful in winter and rain as it is in the sun and summer. Autumn has to be my favourite. Juliet is a lovely host and is not intrusive in the slightest. However she is very responsive if you need anything. We had a lovely chat this time whilst i was sat bird watching and she told me about a few birds she had seen. What can i say if you need to unwind then this is the place. Comfortable, quiet, homely and warm.

2nd visit and absolutely living up to my memories. Weather was a little more inclement this time round - blew a gale and some very picturesque horizontal rain... but it was still cozy and so amazingly photogenic location. Lemon drizzle cake was a very welcome tea time treat throughout our stay. But it's the absolute spotless presentation that makes you feel right at home. We did miss seeing the cat this time round, hope it's OK :)

The Shepherd's Hut was a very comfortable and convenient stay for our needs. The interior is very cute and the theme is applied perfectly. Nice to be on the edge of a working farm. The escapee ducks were a highlight. Communication with Mandy was easy. We would come back.

Such a beautiful spot, so peaceful and remote yet within easy distances of some great places. The hot tub was a big hit with our 3 year old. Absolutely loved it. Thank you

We had a fantastic 4 night stay. the shepherd's hut was exactly as described and is ideally placed, with so many great seaside towns to visit nearby. We felt relaxed and chilled from the minute we arrived. Gill is a great host that gives you privacy, but is quick to answer any questions if required. Prosecco and scones were a nice touch and a couple of glasses under the fairy lights in the hottub was a lovely way to end our stay. Added bonus is the on street car chargers 100 meters away that were always available at a reasonable rate 👍

Wow wow wow! Headland hideaway is stunning! Absolutely gorgeous, Mike was amazing!!! Messaged every day to check all is okay, send photos of the signpost where to turn and exactly where to park etc. his food recommendation were helpful and stop on! Tried lots and all were amazing! The pool was the biggest hit and we were so lucky when we stayed we had amazing weather! Everything was spotless and modern, loved the remote control curtains! A fabulous half term dreamy weekend! Thank you so much Mike! It was an absolute pleasure!

Our short but sweet stay in Doris was perfect. Jane is a wonderful host and you can tell how much she cares for the place. The gardens surrounding the sheppards hurt were wonderful. Highly recommend x

We stayed in the hut called collie. It was absolutely stunning and was so lovely to stay it. Surrounded by nature and animals. Lovely view, hot tub was amazing. The bed was very comfy and everything you needed inside. Thank you so much!

We had a lovely couple of days at Lou’s place, a beautifully decorated, well kept, and fully equipped hut. The location was perfect for us, nice and tranquil, just the relaxed location we needed. We would definitely return, and 100% recommend. Thank you Lou

We had a very relaxing stay, the location is so pretty, the hut is set in a great sized garden, which is not overlooked at all. It is close to a cafe and gorgeous gift shop, and a short walk to the village shops and pub. We had a fire pit both nights and just relaxed. Andrea was great and recommended the Somerset Cider Bus which was a 10 minute drive away, and that was a lot of fun, that's on every Saturday until Autumn. Andrea was friendly, helpful and a great host. We even bought some of their stone carvings. The hut itself is awesome, with a great eye for detail, it is a beautiful place to stay, you won't be disappointed.

Gagnor and James were wonderful, friendly hosts. The Sheperd's hut was such an unexpected and superb find - spotlessly clean; well equipped. We feel like we've had a week away not two nights. I'd book again in a heartbeat. Thouroughly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay. The shepherds hut had everything we needed for a peaceful retreat and yet was near the beach and some great market towns. The outside space was lovely especially the hot tub overlooking the lake. Would definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved our 4 day stay at the Little Charred Hut, the location is idyllic right in the middle of the woods, near to a babbling brook, it's completely private with no neighbours or passing traffic, just the sound of the birds! The Hut itself has everything you need, it's very cosy with an extensive verandah (with 2 comfy rocking chairs) giving a feel of more sheltered space, which was great as the weather wasn't perfect the whole time. The surrounding area is so beautiful, and an easy drive away from so many beautiful places to explore. We'd highly recommend this gorgeous little place for an intimate stay in the midst of nature.

Lovely stay - such a peaceful location with amazing views. It was the perfect escape - just a shame we were only staying for one night! The hut is perfect, we cooked dinner on the hobs and there is a little fridge to keep the drinks cold. Everything you need for a relaxing and quiet break. Sadly the wind meant we didn’t get to use the fire pit but no doubt that would be a great addition next time. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be coming again when we next have the chance!

A beautiful place in a stunning, quiet area. sarah was so helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a place with beautiful surroundings and a cosy place to stay, this is definitely your place. Check in and check out was easy with a lock box. There was a secure place to park the car and privacy within the private garden. The garden itself is stunning and tranquil with a running water feature in a pond. The shepherds hut is clean and tidy with everything you need for a cosy and comfy stay. The bed is comfier than mine at home. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

Another wonderful stay! This hut is so perfectly designed for a peaceful countryside get away - and in a great location between dartmoor and the sea, offering plenty to do! Spacious bathroom, comfy bed, and a well equipped kitchen (we enjoyed trying out some new airfryer recipes!) 😊 Thanks again Caroline!

We had the best bank holiday weekend here. Angela was a great host and very attentive. Smooth check in and out. This place is a perfect location for couples looking for a secluded break away in a peaceful location. We had a lovely walk round the village and we would recommend this to anybody. Facilities were perfect for what you need with great outdoor seating areas.

Our stay at the Shepherds hut exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful inside and out, spotlessly clean, tasteful decor and had everything we needed for a relaxed and pleasant stay. The view was stunning and Lacock is 15 min walk away. We were fortunate with the weather but it would still be great in the cold or rain. Our host Dilly was lovely and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.
