Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Spittal an der Drau District

The place is exactly what you expect from pictures - we were 2 families and had plenty of both privacy and shared space to spend time together. Apart from the fact the house was rather cold upon our arrival (the heating didn't yet heat the cold building), everything was perfect, and both Sandra and Edith (the hosts) did their best to make us feel welcome and comfy. Sandra was always ready to answer our questions and gave us local tips, too. Edith even brought us homemade cake .. simply sweet. The place is perfect for a winter retreat - cca 20 mins to Katschberg for good skiing, snow tubing hill just a few hundred meters from the house, and a safe garden behind the house. It is also well-accessible, even in snowy conditions. As soon as the house got warm, we never wanted to leave .. and the sauna after the day on the slopes was a treat .. :) Overall, we can only recommend this place, and we thank you, Sandra and Edith, once again! I hope to be back :)

The best host of Airbnb that we ever met: warm and friendly. The house is like a castle, it's very peculiar and set in a quiet place; you are literally surrounded by nature and we were lucky enough to see the stars were well at night It doesn't take much by car if you want to visit the Kaerten lakes from there, and cities like Spittal and Lienz. Thank you very much Hetty!

The villa is beautiful, modern, and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Everything related to the villa was perfect, from the parking space for four cars to the spacious rooms and nice bathrooms. The living room with the fireplace and kitchen added to the overall enjoyment. The terrace and garden with a barbecue are a special highlight, where we spent most of our time, enjoying the stunning view. We would definitely return again.

We immediately felt at home! The house is beautiful and you can enjoy absolute peace. The housekeeper Monika welcomed us very warmly and handed us the house really spic and span. The furnishings are extremely tasteful and the rooms very spacious. We were also allowed to be guided by Heinrich through the castle next to the forester's house, which was very interesting. The castle will probably also soon be bookable via Airbnb and is certainly a great experience!

Beautiful quiet place. Heidi-Alm ski slopes are about 2 minutes by car. An ideal resort for small children. The chalet is fully equipped, everything was set up, we didn't miss anything. We loved our vacation and would love to come back for a summer vacation. Christine is a great host. We can only recommend to everyone and thank Christine very much for the beautiful winter break.

We had a traffic complication at check in and that's why we were driving late. It wasn't a problem either (we apologized on the phone). The hosts occupy the upper floors and welcomed us very warmly. They also prepared a welcome gift for us in the form of fresh food for breakfast and a Carinthian beer for refreshment along a strenuous journey. Throughout the stay, the hosts were very welcoming and gave us tips on local highlights. They are active people who like dogs (they have a brown labrador). They played with our dog. Hygienically, there was no overwhelming luxury and the location of the basement apartment was evident. Otherwise, absolutely perfect. Especially the layout. Two bedrooms and a living room from each of this room large french doors to the great garden that we had all at our disposal. At the end of the garden a typical mountain river with clean and cool water. We used it for bathing and splashing (just swimming in the stream). A kitchen fully equipped with dishes and an electric kettle. Coffee dripper. Toaster.

We stayed in a spacious and very cozy apartment equipped with everything we needed. The access to the lake is great, there are two trampolines for children, stand up paddles and even a pedal boat to rent. Anton and Margot are two extremely gracious hosts who care a lot and have made a lot of things possible. We felt very comfortable in Haus Bichel and will definitely return. The nearest vacation is already booked. Thanks again to Margot and Anton!

We had a wonderful stay at Eleonora’s place! The hospitality was exceptional, and Eleonora is a very kind, friendly, and helpful person. The apartment was beautifully furnished, clean, and had everything we needed. Eleonora’s kindness and attention to detail made our trip even more special. We would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming experience.

nicely refurbished appartment in a cozy authentic alpine house. Dishwasher and washing machine and a well equipped kitchen. The location near Oberdrauberg was awesome with good possibilities for klettersteige, hiking etc. in driving range. We will definantly come back to the area, and when we do, try to make new arrangements with Albert and Angelika for another stay.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was exactly as described – very clean, cozy and equipped with everything you might need. We were particularly pleased that our dog was also welcome – absolutely dog friendly! The neighborhood was pleasantly quiet, perfect for unplugging. The host was super friendly, always reachable, and check-in went smoothly. His tips for restaurants and excursions were worth gold – so we discovered some real highlights. We will be happy to come back and can fully recommend the accommodation!

Christiane was a great host - friendly and helpful, and even left a delicious kuglof for us upon arrival. We stayed there for a week-long skiing vacation (Katschberg is less than a 30 min drive) and thoroughly enjoyed our time. For the price, it was a great option for our family of 5.

We found the accommodation to be a perfect size with a beautiful view and well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything we needed, we would absolutely stay again.

Timea and her husband are very nice spontaneous lovely people who take you a lot into account. A cozy snapps and a chat was great ; at the same time considering our privacy. The bathroom and kitchen are separate from the cottage but that's no problem at all. What was also nice: the giant lawn where you can sit / lie in the sun all day if you want, but also in the shade. Then the river where you can swim ( with crocks on because of the stones in the water) . Hammock where you can lie down with your feet in the water!! You will hear traffic across the river. You could call that a drawback. But at night you don't suffer from it.. We had a great stay during this week!

Tanja and her in-laws, who manage the cottage, are very friendly and helpful. The location is of course fantastic and the cottage very nice. It should be noted that the electricity is provided by generator and is only available at a very reduced rate (light) between 9 PM and 6 AM. The heating is a furnace heater, which is good to know at this altitude and the temperatures there. Communication was good. The journey can be a little intimidating if you are new to the mountains - the navigation system says 100 km/h on mountain roads and thus calculates the travel time earlier. But you're more likely to be traveling at 30-50 km/h. It's good to find your way

We stayed for a week at Heidi's hut, and time seemed to pass too quickly, what a gem. Upon arrival we were well received by Heidi, to drive through to the cabin from her house. The drive up can take a while (30 minutes), with our car (VW T-Cross) we came upstairs without effort. In winter I would choose a 4x4, but that is also indicated by Heidi. Upon arrival, we looked out our eyes because of the location and especially the beautiful view of the mountains. It's a little switch (back to basic) but you get used to it quickly and forget all the hustle and bustle. With pain in our heart, we had to move back to the next destination after our pleasant stay. Highly recommended for the real lovers! Thanks to Heidi!

It was a dream and exactly the vacation we wanted. It is exactly as described. A beautiful mountain cabin - we were there for ourselves and could enjoy the tranquility and just completely switch off. Everything is clean, and the heated pool outside was the greatest luxury for us. We sat in the warm water in the evening and looked at the stars. The road up the mountain is, as others have already written, a real mountain road, but for me with a normal car it was quite feasible. Arrival and departure also worked out great, Madlyn picked us up down the street and accompanied us to the hut. I truly recommend this place!

The host was great, he was very polite and was ready to adapt to our needs. The house was very cozy and beautiful. The location is great if you are planing to travel by car otherwise it is quite remote.

If you want absolute peace and a breathtaking view, this is the place to be! The hut is located at 1600 meters altitude, surrounded by fields, in the back you have a really great and captivating view of a mountain panorama. In the immediate vicinity is only Leonhardhütte. Managed all year round. But which was absolutely not disturbing due to a small hill between the properties, especially since only a few hikers got lost there during our visit. The cabin is comfortably furnished. A bit of “back to the roots” at a high level. Kitchen fully equipped. Due to the wood-fired kitchen stove, it got warm quite quickly and you always have warm water on the stove for rinsing, etc. Electricity and hot water are available via the Solar system with battery storage. We had a week of sun and always enough "power"! For us, the mattresses were too soft. Which led to a lack of sleep. We were there at the beginning of March 2025 and will come back!
