This is my uncle Happy's place. It is in historic downtown Southport. Walking distance from restaurants, shopping, and the Cape Fear river. Located on a quaint alley just off the Main Street of town. This happy little cottage is nestled amongst large live oaks and in the shadow of Southport's iconic water tower. The home has one bedroom with a queen bed. The living area has a twin bed and two chairs. There is a full kitchen and small bathroom. Southport’s beautiful waterfront and parks await.

Check in ANY DAY during the off season for as little as three days. Pets allowed with pet fee. Please provide your linens (sheets and towels)

The Historic Backdoor Cottage in Southport, NC

The charming Backdoor Cottage is located in the Historic District of Southport, NC. It's named the Backdoor Cottage because you park and enter through the backdoor into the living space. It is within walking distance of the whole Historic District including the waterfront, restaurants, shops, churches and art galleries. Much of the art work in the cottage was done by local artists. This is a custom built dog friendly family beach house on the quiet west side of Oak Island, a five minute drive or bike ride to the beach, and one block to the Intercostal Waterway. Artfully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen, safely fenced back yard for dogs, screened back porch, super dog friendly beach, and a tiny house in back with more sleeping capacity; this house is a place for beach lovers who appreciate comfort and art and want their pooches along with them.
