Kid-friendly vacation rentals in South Ayrshire

Great place to stay for exploring Culzean Castle and grounds. The only thing I would do differently is stay longer. Carrie is a thoughtful host and made everything so easy.

We loved this Airbnb so much. The area brought back such super memories for me as my wee Mum lived at the top of the street many years ago. The house is perfectly appointed with everything needed for a great stay. The big kitchen and spotless bathrooms, the lovely garden, and cute bedrooms are super. The proximity of the train, bus, airport, shops, pubs, restaurants and last but not least …the beach ….are excellent. The sunset last night 200% !!!!! Yes … book this beauty spot now. It is wonderful and the host is very responsive. Thank you John we can’t wait to come back !!!

Liana is a wonderful host. Her place was perfect for our needs and convenient for visiting family. We plan on staying with Liana again, if possible, when we return to Ayr in 2026.

A true secret location with unbelievable wildlife in the surrounding area.

We enjoyed our stay. A little way out of a friendly village with a community shop and a pub that did food. Owners had made a big effort with the place and the surroundings to make them attractive and eco friendly.

This was our second stay at Grants home. A lovely house in an ideal location. We were blessed with great weather and with the beach in such easy reach we swam every day. We would not hesitate to recommend this house as the ideal location for a stay on Arran.

We’re just home from a 3 night stay here and this accommodation was just perfect! It’s set in a beautiful spot, surrounded by hills, greenery and with views of the sea. The entire place is extremely well cared for; we went with our toddler and baby and it was perfectly spacious for all 4 of us, (though it also has a wonderful cosy cottage feel to it)! The beautiful garden and decking look out to the sea; the rooms are all on one level; the kitchen and bathroom were pristine; and the sofas and beds were extremely comfy (the bedrooms having the softest carpet we’ve ever felt)! The location was also perfect - it’s a 2 minute (if that) drive down to Whiting Bay beach and The Shore cafe which we loved; a 20 minute drive to/from Brodick (great for the castle and ferry connections) and generally easy to find. David and Catrina were also such friendly, informative and accommodating hosts! We couldn’t recommend their place more and will certainly be back!

The property was fantastic being very well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was stunning with wonderful views and direct access to a private beach. Spotting wildlife from the house felt special, particularly the otter sighting. The extra touches in the house including a welcome pack, were much appreciated.

The place was great,spotless,peaceful and had great tv. the bed was so comfy,room spotless. the only thing I would say is need a wee lamp in bedroom. all the house was amazingly clean and fresh. Nice touch to have tea and coffee with milk there for us. Sher was easy to contact and replied quickly. would make a great base to travel from. we will return. thanks Sher

The flat suited us perfectly. We know the area well and were lucky to be able to make the booking when our family were staying nearby.

44a was the perfect location for my job at troon boat yard, a 10min walk from the flat. very handy for the wee bar no.47 just across the road. Flat was lovely and cosy, spotlessly clean and well equipped. very comfy bed and great shower. Flat is really close to cafes and shops. will hopefully stay again.

great place would have loved ro soend more time there, we were only there for 1 night but already looking at next year

A lovely large flat full of interesting paintings and books with lots of games for the kids and a beautiful light aspect in all the living rooms and kitchen. The flat is in a very quiet part of town and easily walkable to the town centre. Parking is on site, free and available. The building has been converted from a warehouse and is light and modern throughout with excellent security. Natalie was very friendly and personable and met us to show us around, which is a rare thing these days, and rather good, fromy point of view. Her communication with us was excellent.

We had a lovely stay and everything was as described. Lots of local shops are within walking distance, parking wasn’t an issue and we had a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately Maybole itself appears to be quite run down. However the Air B&B was totally as described. Everywhere was clean an tidy. Few cobwebs but nothing major. Right little treat when you turn on the lights in the bathroom. Would stay again if in the area. Very good value for money.

This was our third time staying at Neil’s place as it’s a perfect place to stay. Gorgeous apartment in a great area for the beach and close to town for restaurants,etc.

Location perfect, Studio had everything you need and stunning view of Arran from living room. Nice pub in Dunure for food and drink. Plenty to do in area recommend Cullzean Castle where you could spend the whole day. Janice was exceptional host very friendly introduced my daughter to the horses and Angus the dog. Can’t fault anything would stay there again.

what a little Gem this apparently is. I will definitely be stopping here again. It's a fabulous base for visiting the islands or The cities. I managed Isle of Arran, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The beach is literally on the door step and the shops round the corner. Alison is super helpful and very friendly. alround a fantastic 1st experience using Airbnb. I have already recommended this apparment to my friends and family. I can't wait to come back again very soon. 😀

Lovely location, walkable to the town centre, beach and along the river. Derek and Angela were great with their communication. A very comfortable property to visit. It was fabulous to see the gathering of swans on the river from the sofa in the mornings.

John was an excellent host - the accommodation was perfect for our workers needs. Highly recommended. Will defo try to book if back in the area.
