Private guest house on 100 acre farm

The Martin Shanty was a wonderful respite away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to get out and about. The shanty is close to Parkville, which is the cutest little town ever! The space was warm, cozy, and immaculately kept. We had everything we needed. We will definitely choose this place everytime we come to Kansas City!

Quilters Getaway

Carol SueRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Rebecca’s cottage is indeed a tiny house, but it had everything I needed for a three day quilting retreat including space to set up my sewing machine. Although there is sleeping accommodation in the loft, I didn’t use that because of the ladder used to access. The daybed on the main floor was very comfortable for sleeping. The cottage is set back from a county highway. During the day there was a fair amount of traffic, but very quiet at night. Kingston is a very small community with few amenities that I could see other than a coffee shop. Nearby Polo had a grocery and at least one restaurant. A bit farther, but easily reached, Hamilton has several restaurants plus many quilt shops. I highly recommend the Quilter’s Retreat and would stay there again.
