The center of the cozy cheese town of Alkmaar can easily be reached by bus with 20 minutes. A day in Amsterdam is also a possibility. From the train station (Heiloo or Alkmaar) every half hour a train goes to A'dam.

In the immediate vicinity of Groote Keeten, you will find beautiful hiking and cycling routes through beautiful nature reserves.
