Cottage vacation rentals in Skye

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

One of the loveliest places we've ever stayed! Superb and spacious accommodation, beautifully decorated and really well & thoughtfully equipped - it will *exceed* your expectations. With the sauna and hot tub, it's not easy to drag yourself out of the house! And to top it off, the view across the loch is utterly mesmerising. Vivienne was a great host, letting us know everything we needed and leaving a lovely welcome pack. The house is in a peaceful location that is still handy for the main road and great for interesting local walks .... if you can drag yourself away! Can't recommend highly enough 😊

Absolutely loved our stay at Kinloch - grandparents, their kids, and then their kids and the dog! Such a fantastic warm cosy lodge, will definitely be back! The garden is wonderful, all fenced in, great for the dog, walk down to the loch for a swim, up to the hot tub, then firepit for marshmallows - couldn’t beat it. My favourite Air BnB yet, absolutely loved it 🥰 . Thank you 🙏

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

We absolutely loved our stay here!this place truly captured all the Scottish charm we were hoping for. From the cozy, stylish décor to the warm welcome touches like slippers and a thoughtful welcome pack, every detail made us feel so welcome. The kids were delighted by the three adorable chickens that roam freely around the garden and the selection of games! The bedding and towels were top quality—soft, fresh, and beautifully presented. We especially enjoyed the BBQ hut (perfect for the cooler evenings and to escape the midge!) and the wood fired hot tub was a huge hit for winding down after a day of exploring. unlimited logs were great and the handy log splitter it was great fun and added to the experience! The location was fantastic—peaceful, scenic, and a great base for getting around. A couple of minutes drive into the Village, the Castle and near the great cafes and restaurants like the Three Chimneys. This place is a perfect blend of character and comfort, highly recommend

We had spent 5 days in the adjacent cottage and we loved it so much we decided we wanted to stay longer and managed to book another 2 days. It was so wonderful and peaceful and property is incredibly well produced. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay at Chloe’s place in Fort William! The home was clean, cosy, and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The deck area was a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. The check-in process was smooth, and the location was ideal—close enough to town yet quiet and scenic. Would definitely recommend this spot for anyone visiting the Highlands!

We absolutely loved our stay at Betty’s Lookout! Incredible place, with stunning views. Spent my 30th birthday here, and I couldn’t have imagined a better place. The only thing was the hot tub could have been a little bit hotter, but was still nice to soak in for a while!

Beautiful cottage. Felt out of the way but was close to road into portree. Very warm building, bathroom and rooms superb. Would highly recommend and revisit. Visiting sheep was an added bonus!

Located in a very peaceful and private village in Ord. The house is extremely cosy and clean giving all of us a home feeling rather than a place just for temporary stay. Love the homemade baked scones from the host too!

This cottage is perfect for those who may want to get away for some peace and quiet in a beautiful Scottish Highlands setting. Alistair is an amazing host, with a warm and welcoming personality. He made us feel right at home. and could not have been more accommodating.

Stunning setting with amazing views over the Sound of Mull. Easy to spend hours watching the shipping/boats float by. House extremely comfortable and weather allowed ample opportunity to use the veranda with comfortable seating.

Amazing place, location and stay. Applecross is mindblowingly beautiful and Weavers is in a stunning setting. The views from the sun room are incredible. The house is lovely and has everything you need for a great holiday. There was an issue with cleaning on our arrival but Roger responded immediately to our concerns and I don’t think this is an ongoing problem or should affect anyone else’s decision to stay. All in all we had a brilliant holiday. Thank you.

We spent a very nice week in the vacation home. If you are looking for seclusion and tranquility, this is the place to be. The house is very modern, nicely decorated and we felt right at home. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced garden very much. Although dogs are allowed and blankets are also available for them, the house was very clean when we arrived. We can only recommend the property. But you should be aware that it is very remote. There are other houses around, but no real place or the like. On foot or by car you can reach great beaches, unfortunately we did not find real hiking trails, you usually walk along the road or through sheep pens (leash dogs!) A dream for a few days of togetherness and tranquility!

Very cozy home in Luib. There are NO restaurants nearby, either cook at home or eat before you will reach there. Wonderful view from therrace across the Loch to the opposite mountains

very, cute cottage with many small details. good for visits and hikes in the northern area of isle of sky. wonderful sunsets. we stayed with a family of 4 and a dog and really liked the coziness.

I really can’t even describe how much we loved this place! I want to go back and stay for weeks. Originally we had thought to stay in portree and decided to get away a bit instead and I’m so glad we did! The house is beyond beautiful, way better than the photos. You can see sheep grazing out the windows! Super quiet and peaceful….great location for exploring Skye.

We had the most wonderful stay at taigh uilleam cottage. Elizabeth is a great host, very helpful and responsive. The location is amazing with pretty views of meadows, sea and islands. Restaurants and town of Portree are a quick hop away via scenic roads.

Sally's cottage was absolutely lovely! The house itself is beautiful. You really feel like you're a part of the Isle, with sheep as your neighbors and clear views and paths to the sea! All in all a wonderful vacation, but one tip just make sure to bring items like shampoo/conditioner/body wash/coffee pods and things like that, since it is fairly remote it was a bit difficult to get those since they weren't supplied.

Beautiful views of the bay, especially in the quiet stillness of the mornings. Nice location near the village supermarket and a couple of pubs. It’s peaceful and quiet with destinations like the Fairy Glen and Quiraing close by. Centrally located to all the major sights. Communication was excellent and very quick. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay! The house was absolutely beautiful—immaculately kept, well-equipped with everything we needed and more. The location is stunning, perfect for exploring the surrounding area and Skye. Sarah Jane and Steve were lovely and always on hand if we needed anything. We truly couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Six days wasn’t nearly long enough—we’d love to return. Thank you, Sarah Jane, it was perfect!

We loved Josie's cottage, we felt right at home. The tasteful furnishings with love and attention to detail give the cottage a wonderfully cozy and inviting flair. Everything you need for a vacation stay is available, nothing was missing The location far away from the hustle and bustle was just right for us. The communication with Josie was absolutely smooth, fast and very friendly and the check-in process was super easy. If we were to return to the IoS, we would book the cottage again anytime!

Kim’s cottage was amazing - beautiful, well appointed and accommodated 5 adults. Having 4 separate bathrooms was very welcome. The common area was huge and allowed family meals with a breathtaking view. Kim was very responsive to questions and requests. Thank you Kim!
