This house began with the childhood dream of the host, Yuka, who wanted to live in a Moomin house.I lived in Europe for a year when I was young, and I was fascinated by the quiet forests and lakes of Scandinavia that I visited on a short-term study abroad program. A few years later, I met my husband Andy in New Zealand and lived there for three years.After returning home, I chose Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, where you can feel the atmosphere of Scandinavia and New Zealand. And then we came across a cute hexagonal hut at the foot of the mountain.The moment I found it, Yuka said, "I want to make this place look like a Moomin house!" Andy finished his ideal log house with DIY to make his dreams come true. There is also a BBQ grill on the outside wood deck and a fire pit in the pergola area of the garden where you can enjoy a campfire. You can watch the fire under the stars, enjoy marshmallows and BBQ, and have a special time.
