Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Shelter Island Heights

We had a lovely stay at Karine’s cute house! The kitchen was very nicely outfitted, beds were super comfortable, and the big wood-burning fireplace was excellent! We appreciated all the cool artwork around the house, and Karine’s wonderful photography book! We got to enjoy lots of bird life, and we were lucky to have a bit of snow. What a beautiful and peaceful spot. We can’t wait to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool and lovely big deck and yard!

Erica and Janson's place was perfect for our group of eight to attend a wedding in the Hamptons. You cannot get closer to the North Ferry to Shelter Island and there are many restaurant and shopping options within walking distance... the pizza place next door is open late, PORT restaurant (across the street!) is great for waterfront drinks and dinner. While we didn't use it, the LIRR station from Manhattan is also 500 feet from the front door. Ample parking was appreciated and the place was spotless. Thank you Erica and Janson!

The Navy House was the perfect place for our girls weekend in Greenport! Beautiful home exactly like the photos, clean, and in a lovely neighborhood that is walking distance for a fun night out. Would definitely recommend and book again!

This beautiful home did not disappoint! There was lots of space for our group of 7 ladies to eat meals together, sit outside for coffee, play games and sleep in the comfortable beds. Lots of amenities including utensils, cookware, plates, glasses, towels, etc. We walked to beach and it was a quick drive to town. We are already planning our next year’s visit! Thanks for being super responsive Adam!

Kristin’s house was perfect!!! It was even more beautiful in person and had absolutely everything we needed to have the best stay at Greenport! Not only was it beautiful, but it was also in the best location, making it easy to get to and from the Main Street and wineries! I traveled with 8 friends and we all said we’d book again without a doubt! Thank you Kristin for an unforgettable stay!

Charles place was perfect for a girls weekend. We loved how easy it was to walk into town. Having the little outdoor space was wonderful to relax with coffee or wine. Loved the bunk room to make us feel like we were back in college. Would go back again!

Phaedra’s home is a lovely cottage on the cusp of Southold and Greenport. It’s the perfect place for a weekend getaway and was very well equipped for everything you might need. The home is charming yet modern (we especially loved the heated bathroom floors!). Excited to stay again.

Ann Marie must be one of the top hosts on the app. She was the most responsive and caring person assuring our stay was up to her high standards. The property was suited our needs very well, was close to the beach, and only a short drive away from the main strip in town. Everything was clean and prepared for our arrival with meticulous attention to detail. We would certainly stay here again in the future!

Stunning little spot, tucked away in a quiet and beautiful surrounding. The amenities were wonderful like fresh ground coffee, interesting books, and great vinyl collection. The layout of the house was really cool, including the winding stairs and lofty bedroom. All in all, the perfect spot for a little hamptons weekend.

Incredible location! Walking distance to the town. The neighborhood is very quiet and we felt very comfortable all weekend long. Carole and Rich are wondering hosts, and the apartment had everything we needed. We would recommend!!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Holly’s place! We were traveling with 2 adults, an 18 year old and significant other and 2 teenagers and the amount of space was perfect! Everyone had room to spread out. The apartment had all the things you love about old homes, but all the updates that make life easier. The homemade banana bread that Holly left for us was such a personal touch and it was delicious. Erica greeted us with a warm welcome even though we arrived well past midnight. My daughter enjoyed reading in the cozy sitting area by the window. It was fun to watch the Hallmark movie that was filmed there. We fast forwarded the cheesy parts and enjoyed seeing the house in the movie. The area is peaceful and quaint. There’s a Dunkin about 5 minutes away, too which made our early mornings a little easier. Highly recommend if you’re traveling with a family!

We had a great stay. The apartment is even nicer than the photos can show, especially the high ceilings, and it's an easy walk to anywhere in Greenport. Amanda has provided every amenity you could need, including a full laundry. There's a very nice coffee maker, so don't forget to either bring coffee or K-pods (it takes either). Amanda was very responsive to any questions we had. If you're a breakfast person, Crazy Beans was a great classic diner spot, and we had a great Mexican lunch at Lucharito's.

Paris is a wonderful host. His property and cottage is a perfect retreat for two. Charming accommodations with a beautiful view and an easy walk to town. We’ll be back soon! Angelo C.

Claire's place was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. It was very clean, cozy and nicely situated on a peaceful street in walking distance to the LIRR train station, the main street in Southold, and a lovely beach with stunning views of the Shelter Island Sound and its surroundings. I would definitely book again!

It was a great stay, my second time staying here and Roisin is quick over communication and answering all the questions we had. Overall, great location and easy to get to!

We really enjoyed staying at Patrick’s place. It was private, quiet & close to our family. He had thoughtfully supplied many kitchen supplies, dishes & everything we needed for our stay. Very organized & had many spaces to keep our things . Very comfortable apartment & smelled clean & fresh. Even had a small vacuum we could use to clean up tracked in leaves & dirt. We were there for a week & enjoyed having a stress free place to unwind!

Over $500 a night was very high, much higher than west Coast pricing for two bedrooms near a major university. Convenient to Yale but know that poverty has always been evident a few feet from Yale borders and much of the foot traffic consists of the homeless. Also some noise at night from passing traffic. On the plus side there’s an excellent Italian bakery/gelato cafe across the street run by a husband wife team that makes everything they serve.

We had a fantastic experience! The home is in the perfect walkable location to all of the shops and restaurants in mystic. The home is clean, looks just like the photos, and the owner is extremely detailed with arrival information. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot. We will definitely stay here again!

we had s great time staying at the apartment! it was way more spacious than we thought from the pictures, the balcony was amazing, you‘ll have sun through the whole day. Doug was a phenomenal host! We got their by LIRR and back with the hampton jitney. We rented two bikes in Montauk and it was amazing exploring the area by bike. Cannot recommend this area and the airbnb enough!

We had a great time at Adam’s place! The apartment was cozy, clean, and comfortable — perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s just a quick 5-minute drive to Sag Harbor, which made it super convenient.

We had a pleasant time at Peter's place. He was a great host and was very responsive. It was just what we needed for some rest and relaxation on the beach after a week of hiking in the white mountains. Would definitely stay here again!

Just had a wonderful stay at Robert’s place! The place was impeccably clean, and Robert was incredibly responsive and friendly throughout our visit. While the manor has a charmingly vintage vibe and could use a bit of modernization, we truly enjoyed our time there. The warmth of the atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home. We recommend for anyone looking for a cozy getaway!
