The gardens and lay out make it feel like a little oasis of peace and tranquility. The jacuzzi tub is best axcessed through the bedroom. The well lit and beautiful slate slab path takes u there. The ambiance of the Woods makes it a super special experience. The house lay out is unique and very cozy. Kitchen is well equipped with Essentials for basic meal prep. We never ate out once! Very much a rustic farm house feel with the charm of the history of this house. I can't say enough good things about this space and the host!! “Ilja and Julius’ place was fantastic. Their hospitality was unmatched and the space is very thoughtfully designed with tons of art and interesting artifacts. It was a bummer not to be able to use the indoor shared common areas (out of an abundance of caution for safety), but otherwise everything was great. Our son loved feeding the pond fish, and I especially enjoyed a relaxing hour in the immense backyard, reading with nothing but nature and my thoughts to disturb me. I think what was especially nice is that despite the house’s grand status (and similarly old age), they were committed to improvement projects to maintain it. Julius spent a day repainting the front deck, and when I told him wasps had taken up residence in the children’s treehouse, he seemed sincerely concerned and vowed to get it taken care of. The only qualm we had was our teeny tiny standup shower in what was otherwise a huge room. Aside from that, it was super close to downtown Hudson, and a delightful respite from the world.”
A bright, serene space with reclaimed fixtures and hidden nooks throughout, the barn is surrounded by a wildlife-filled meadow. We are easy drives to quaint towns, hikes and art in all directions. “Gregg and Molly’s barn was perfect for our family of four (married couple with two young children) for our one-week getaway from the city. Gregg was always very responsive, helpful and enjoyable to communicate with. The photos of the house and property do not do it justice. It is obvious that a lot of effort was put into the visual harmony and comfort of the home’s We enjoyed breakfasts on the deck, the beautiful views out back, the sounds of nature at nighttime, listening to their amazing CD collection, reading books from their wonderful book collection, and generally enjoying the peaceful and beautiful setting of the home. Our kids especially enjoyed the swing set/slides, upper play loft and lower level game room (with ping pong and pinball). For larger groups, it is worth noting that while there are two bedrooms, only one of them is fully secluded from the main living space. Also, the larger and more private of the bedrooms does not have a shower or bathtub located adjacently. I mention these items for informational purposes only - these shouldn’t be deal-breakers for most people and they would certainly not dissuade us from gladly returning for another week-long stay! In short, Gregg and Molly’s barn was a little slice of heaven for our getaway from the city!”
