The cottage is located on the banks of the clear Marukawa River. Gifu is famous for Shirakawago and Hida Takayama, but Enbara is also a nice place in the mountains, although it is inconvenient. The Enbara River is known as the most beautiful underground water in Japan and a famous spot for its light, and the inn is located about 800 meters from the spring water point of the underground water, so the water transparency is excellent. You can also see the light from the inn. On summer mornings, depending on the weather conditions, you can see a magical view of the sunlight pouring through the trees. The water in the Marukara River is cold, but in summer the children play in the river energetically. The riverbed is much cooler, so people can escape the heat and cool off. A little downstream there are several river play spots, and the water is clear everywhere and it feels good to swim beautifully. The water of the river shines emerald green in a slightly deep place, and the scenery of rocks and moss is also wonderful, and it is a healing spot where the mind is purified. We renovated a two-story earthen-walled storehouse built in the Edo period and turned it into a guest house. Although it is not spacious, a kitchen with an IH hotplate has been installed on the first floor while retaining the atmosphere of a storehouse with its earthen walls and thick beams. The first and second floors are fully air-conditioned for a comfortable stay. You can experience the soundproofing unique to a storehouse, the coolness in summer, and the warmth in winter. There is a sauna facility about 5 minutes away by car, Anekawa Onsen about 15 minutes away, and Kita-Omi-no-Yu about 20 minutes away. There are many tourist spots unique to Nagahama, which has often been the stage for history, in the surrounding area. Hikone Castle, a national treasure, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Nagahama Castle, Ishida Mitsunari's birthplace, Kotani Castle, one of Japan's premier mountain castles, and Shizugatake, a battlefield, etc. It is also less than a 20-minute drive to the Sekigahara Battle site.
