This cottage is all about the view! Beach-side location at the base of the 199 steps - perfect for exploring the beautiful historic town of Whitby. Please note due to the beach side location of the cottage, there is unfortunately no parking.

The Chapter House is a spacious and quirky Grade II listed cottage nestled in the heart of Whitby. This central location is ideal for families and friends to use as a base to explore all that Whitby has to offer. The house started life in 1891 as a church Vestry and retains much of its original character. Please note, the church which it was part of is now a cafe and music venue. Crumbleclive is a beautifully restored 100 year old cabin set within the dramatic backdrop of Crunkly Ghyll. It was originally the ‘Gun Room’ for the local estate in the 1890s! The Cabin has a balcony overlooking the gorge with the River Esk rapids visible at the bottom. Surrounded by Oak trees you will feel amongst the treetops as birds gather on the branches around you and fly through the gorge below. It is perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway to recharge the batteries!

Elstree is a self-contained annexe to our house with allocated parking off-road and basic kitchen facilities — suitable for a short break but not for hosting dinner parties! We welcome pets and kids (although we don’t provide specialist things for infants and teenagers might find it a squash!). It is 10 min leisurely walk to the town centre and beautiful Scarborough South Bay beach, all theatres and seaside essentials. A home from home cosy space for peace, quiet and rest.

Cliff Top Escape

The apartment is situated on the cliff top of North Bay, with a lovely sea view. A 20 second walk brings you to the cliff top benches where you can sit and take in the stunning view of the bay and the castle. We are a 5min walk from the beach and 10min to the town centre. It’s on the ground floor of our 5 storey Victorian terrace family home. It is separate from the rest of the house so you’ll have full privacy. There’s plenty of space and the location is amazing!

Ramsdale Lodge Studio Annexe

Hi, Ramsdale Lodge Annex is a self contained spacious studio apartment attached to the main house with its own private entrance. We are conveniently situated just a 10 minute walk to the South Bay beach, and a 10 minute walk into town. We have on street parking available outside the property with parking permits provided free of charge. Just to point out there are some quite steep steps to the front of the house.
