Places to stay in Seymour
Bright rooms with lots of sunshine and clean white walls. Artist touches to make you smile. Main attractions are the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum a mile down the road and Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company 6 miles. Adorable small town with friendly people. Great place to relax and enjoy your family.
The family house was built in 1950's. About 900 sq ft. one level. Recently renovated. An enchanted cabin is located in the backyard that is 100 years old. There are train tracks that run through the town that are located beyond the trees in the backyard. It hasn't bothered most people since it is the part of the charm of the community but you can hear them.
Main attraction in the Wilder Museum but in addition the town offers some unique restaurants ...Nellies Sweets, Vaccaro's Pizza and Pasta, Ma and Pa's, and great pizza at Casey's. Located 45 minutes from Springfield MO, Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company, 2278 Baker Creek Rd, Mansfield, MO 65704, 6.1 miles away.
  • A cozy and comfortable place to stay. Everything was well labeled and organized.

Welcome to the Briza Farmhouse! We're located just half an hour from Springfield, Missouri. The entire upstairs of this historic farmhouse has been renovated to include three private rooms upstairs with a full bathroom. The main floor includes a 4th bedroom, full kitchen, living room, and dining room, as well as a second full bathroom. Fun Fact! Marshfield was the home of Edwin Hubble, inventor of the Hubble telescope. Good things come from tiny towns :)
This house is located on a 200 acre farm. Other homes are visible but not close by.
  • Wonderful farmhouse in the country. Beds were comfortable, books for our reading pleasure, and family games available. We had a vary nice family stay (dogs included).

Darling, cozy little cabin in a beautiful wooded country setting where you'll see cattle and horse ranches. A quiet, private 'home away from home' where you can unpack, relax and enjoy country living. Hosts live next door if you need anything, otherwise you'll be left alone to enjoy your stay. The Cabin is in the best of two worlds country and city - it's 5 minutes from Rogersville, 15 minutes to Springfield, and 50 minutes from Branson.
Rogersville is a small town that has the necessities of a short stay. The people are warm, friendly and helpful. If you don't find what you need here Springfield is just a 15 minute ride away and has absolutely everything you could ask for.
  • Clean and quiet. Perfect.

    Tobin2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fran’s cabin in the woods is very inviting and has everything we needed for our weekend. We loved the kitchen stocked with pots and pans as well as appliances like a coffee pot and toaster. If we come back to the area, we would definitely stay there again!

    Tina2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The rooms were clean, the amenities all worked, and everything felt like home. Fran was very responsive to my questions leading up to the visit, and greeted us once we arrived to let us know she was available if we ever needed anything. We especially loved the comfy mattress, the heating unit that worked great in the 20 degree weather, and all the cookware ! If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay here again.

Enjoy a peaceful stay in our passive solar home on our farmstead goat cheese dairy in the Missouri Ozarks. Visit with the goats, watch the cheesemaking process, soak in the hot tub, walk down by the creek, sip your coffee on the gazebo by the pond or the deck, sit by the wood stove, watch a movie, get some work done in a calm environment, do it all, or just get a good night's sleep! Our 45 acre farm is only 22 miles from Springfield, MO and close to hiking trails, creeks, rivers and lakes.
Because we live on a gravel road, we recommend only 4 wheel drive vehicles when there is snow or ice on the ground.
We are in a peaceful country setting, but not too far from town. We own 50 acres with a pond and a creek. We have a farmstead goat dairy, and you can interact with the goats and observe the cheesemaking process if you wish. Our gravel road may not be navigable when there is snow or ice, unless you have a four wheel drive vehicle.
  • This place is absolutely WONDERFUL! If you’re looking for a nice, relaxing, serene escape from the hustle & bustle of every day life, this is definitely the place for you! The animals are INCREDIBLE! The hot tub is amazing! The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy, & it was everything I was looking for...& more! This stay is excellent! I would highly recommend it for anyone in the area or traveling. A great stay!

    Bryanna2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is more than a place to lay your head. Watch the moonrise over the pond from the deck, snuggle a goat, watch cheese making, be inspired by Lesley and Barry’s story, walk the creek looking for fossils, relax in the hot tub, and learn about farming from the farmhand Clint. A friend and I came to the area to go to Baker Creek Seed Company. We thought that would be the highlight of our trip. The seed company was amazing, but Lesley and Barry’s place will be the reason for our return to the area sooner than a year from now. The are great! The space is cozy and comfortable and the animals are quick companions. Enjoy it! We did.

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome ! We had such a good time . The house and the property were spectacular. They were very helpful with local activities and there are many books in the house to look through regarding things to do. The hot tub was great and really nice to relax in after a long day of traveling. We had a good time and we hope you do too! When you book the house be sure to look in the book for our little letter. (It will make sense when you get there) -Joe& Nikki

I have a small house with two bedrooms and one bath. Its not much, but is a place to stay. I would love to have people from all over the world to stay and visit our area. I love to travel and meet people from different cultures and countries. My home is old, I think its messy and its close to the railroad tracks - that's why I call it the Train Wreck. I will try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Feel free to ask me anything- I'm more interested in meeting people than making money.
My House is around 750 ft.² the backyard is fenced in for dogs and there’s a doggie door in the guest bedroom. I do not have doors on any of the bedrooms, but there is blankets they can be used for a door. This is not even close to a 5 star accomidations, in fact I would only give it 1/4 of one star if at that. It’s closer to the pits than the ritz. The price is low, but so is the maintenance and housekeeping. But if you want a budget place to stay and don't mind a rough crash pad, then this could be the place for you. The train does run behind our house, but does not blow the whistle. Also I’m not home that often so the house is not the cleanest most the time. I will try and clean it as best I can before your arrival though. Seymour is located in the heart of the Ozark mountains. Close by is Bass Pro, rivers, lakes, hiking, fishing, hunting, Amish community, Mennonite community, caves, Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch, Two rivers Mountain Bike Park, SAC Mountain bike area, Buffalo River National Forest, Mark Twain National Forest, Horse back riding, atv and motorcycle riding areas and anything you would love to do outdoors. I also have plenty of space for tents if anyone wants to camp.
Seymour is a small town of about 2000 people. There is little to no crime here and is a safe place to visit and live. You can take a walk anytime day or night and be safe.

a true tiny home in a country setting ...coziness and comfort surrounded by farm animals grazing in their pastures ...our cabin is located near a small town, yet within a short driving distance to beautiful Branson, Mo known for their attractions, crystal clear lakes, hiking. .We also boast the infamous Bass Pro Shop and Wildlife Museum in nearby Springfield, Mo
Our cabin is located here on our farm. We live near a very small town, but only 7 miles from a Wal-Mart. Our town has a couple of tiny town places to eat as well as two gas stations, a grocer and hardware store. I will have a list of the places to eat locally in a manual inside the cabin as well as brochures of places to see or things to do.
  • This is a perfect little tiny home, just right for two people. My friend and I had a weekend writing retreat in the cabin and enjoyed every moment. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we needed to cook all our meals, and we enjoyed the variety of coffees and teas. I found the loft bed comfortable and cozy - perfect for sleeping or curling up with a good book! Would definitely recommend this cabin for a quiet getaway!

  • This is such a great place to stay! Janet and her home are amazing. She is very accommodating and lovely. All the cute animals are an extra bonus. I highly recommend booking this place. I plan on staying here again next year.

  • Second stay and will be back again, away from the hustle and bustle and hope my next stay will allow more time to stay. Loved it!

    Matt2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Janet and Jeff were great hosts. Everything was as expected and more. We really enjoyed the animals while having our coffee in the morning.

    Curtis2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My only regret is that I didn't stay longer than one night at Three Bears Cabin, Janet's farm. I loved everything about the place, from the cleverly built and cozy little house (not quite tiny) to the animals and particularly the hosts. I can't recommend this beautiful and peaceful place enough!

    Debra2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to stay in a quiet, zen, tiny house, this place is great. I would definately stay here again.

    Michael2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Janet’s 3 Bears Cabin was absolutely perfect! Adorably quaint, with smart storage space. We did not go without. She was quick to respond and was always near by if we needed anything. If you’re an animal lover this is the place to stay. Her calves are too cute and her dog (Marley) and cats are super friendly too!

Total off the grid but easy access for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of our world. Unplug...relax, and reconnect to Nature. See the stars and count the wildlife. Plenty of room to hike, picnic, or enjoy your favorite wine rocking on the front porch. Full access to Swan Creek. Great place to reset and renew.
No cell phone or internet reception. Land line phone is available. TV reception on air channels. We are unplugged as much as possible.
We offer a back to nature experience in the comfort of modern conveniences at the cabin. Hike, read a book, lay in the sun, count the starts, hear nature at its finest. We have references at the cabin for research trees, birds, flowers, etc. Relax without electronics and connect to the sounds of nature.
  • This is a great place to take a break from life and kickback.

  • Lovely private house with everything you need and a beautiful backyard creek to explore! Had an amazing time and will definitely consider coming back another time!

    Alexis2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a stay! The cabin is amazing and very secluded. The property is exactly what I needed to relax and unwind. Carl was a great host and has thought of everything for his guests. During the day we walked the property and at night we played chess by the fire. The cabin was close to Branson and Springfield. Carl stocked the cabin with magazines about Springfield making it easy to find things to do in town. I will be coming back to this place in the future and highly recommend it to others. Great experience!

The Ava House is a unique old Farm Home on the outskirts of Ava, MO. "The Treasure of the Ozarks" We offer a cozy quiet stay while still close to everything you need in town. Watch the Sunrise while sipping your Morning Coffee on the front porch, or take a stroll on the Ava Square to the Saturday Farmers Market. Great Restaurants, Vendors and Local Events, including Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, Southwest Missouri Off-Road Ranch, Mansfield Home of Laura Ingals Wilder and more
Short Gravel Road to the House. This is an Old Farm House. While it has been remodeled, there are small imperfections that we will be improving as we go. The house sits on an acre next to a Field that is County Property. You may see Deer, Turkey, Frogs, Spiders, Squirrels, Turtles and other Wildlife.. you could even see a Mouse in the House. We make every effort to make sure that doesn't happen, but we can't guarantee you won't see a Mouse or Spider.
Melancholy Roasting Coffee Shop; Cattle Baron's Boutique; great food at Harro Brothers Cafe; Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds; Jean's Healthway (The Original Momma Jean's) World Headquarters Missouri Fox Trotters; Southern Missouri Off-road Ranch; Soggy Bottom 4x4 Trail; Gladetop Trail State Park; Seymour Apple Festival and more! 1 Hour Drive to Springfield and Branson
  • The house is just outside of town and within close distance to Baker Creek and the Laura Ingalls Wilder home. We enjoyed our quiet stay. If you are planning on cooking, keep in mind there is not a standard stove/oven. They make up for this with a countertop electric two burner, an electric skillet, and a toaster oven. The pots/pans and cooking utensils are sparse, but enough to make simple meals. The house was clean and comfortable. Check-in and out was simple and easy. We recommend this place for a quiet getaway.

    Nicki2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The little gem is an excellent place to stay. Country setting but less than a mile to Ava and perfect for our ladies trip to Baker's Creek Seed. The house fit the four of us perfectly.

  • Trendy decor and very clean place. Nacole was very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.

    Shaun2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I booked the Ava house to host Thanksgiving with my mom and my grandma for the weekend. From the beginning Nacole was extremely sweet and helpful and exceeded all expectations. They offered an air mattress, that worked perfect for my mom; perfect size for the living room floor. There was Netflix on the Roku TV, coloring books w/colored pencils, records, card games, magazines, books; lots of things to keep you occupied. Everything that you could possibly think of needing in the kitchen or bathroom was provided plus some. The house is still in progress, but the wood ceiling, and walls gave it a very nice rustic experience. The fact that they allow pets is amazing by itself. There were 2 trees that were the perfect length apart for our runner to put our dogs outside. Our overall experience was wonderful. We definitely would recommend this place. About an hour to Springfield, and an hour to Branson, with lovely scenic views. Thanks so much Nacole! We look forward to seeing the progression of the house! 💕

    Kasie2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nacole's place was amazing! So clean and very unique. She was very responsive and thoughtful. She also went out of her way to provide so many snacks, coffee, and toiletries for us. My husband and I hope to pass through Ava again so that we can stay at her place!

  • Absolutely stunning home that is a perfect retreat away from the busy noises of the city. It just so happens to also be a wedding venue that is stunning. Am going to recommend this spot in the future for family and couple retreats.

  • Very cute and clean spot to stay at. Highly recommended. The host is excellent and responds to questions quickly. We loved hiking around the property.

  • The cabin is as beautiful as the environment. I would definitely recommend it for short stays and large events.

  • If you’re any a peaceful getaway, this is the place. We took our anniversary trip here to leave the city, and it was so relaxing. No cell service, no problem. Lauren’s home in the country is perfect for weddings, too, but also great for a simple, quaint time to read a book and escape from your normal day-to-day life.

    Ben2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here with our dog as a weekend getaway from the city. Beautiful scenic area with amazing views of the starry night sky. Perfect for unplugging/disconnecting from the busy day-to-day and relax. Spent lots of time on the front porch and deck, and took walks around the land throughout. We recommend planning to stay on site (vs trying to leave for day trips) and bringing your own groceries for cooking. Would recommend. Thanks Lauren!

    Erika2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was great to be off the grid for a long weekend and relax! The farm is remote and I loved it. The cottage is spacious and the decor is very cute. Lauren’s instructions were helpful and she was very quick to respond. I had a wonderful time and would love to visit again.

  • This is a quiet retreat in the country that is a fast 45 minute drive to Springfield. There is a relaxing soaking tub and two headed shower, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. It is refreshing to have limited internet access so our family was able to spend time reconnecting without distractions. Bring some wine and board games and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere!

  • Great little place! The heat was already on and there were delicious homemade pastries waiting on the table for us. Was hoping to have enough time to walk to the pond but unfortunately did not, but we were able to half our morning coffee as we watched the sunrise from the back porch, which was really nice. Very private, very cozy. No WiFi and no cell service unless you walk up the hill on the road.

  • If you like a clean, cozy, quiet little retreat in the country, choose this place. It’s delightful!

    Carolyn2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Coon Creek Cabin exceeded my expectations for a peaceful, natural retreat. We had all the amenities we could need, including a break from the busy outside world, and plenty of privacy to read on the porch in quiet solitude. The bed is exceptionally comfortable for a night of deep sleep with the soothing sounds of night crickets chirping away. Well worth a visit!

    Rachel2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was so quaint and cozy! Great experience on all points, including food, supplies, view, privacy, and comfort. We hope to come again next year!

  • Amazing views and a great place to enjoy nature. Even the air smells like potpourri. If you're traveling through Missouri, this is a great place to stay.

    Carter2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint, quiet retreat with all the necessary amenities. We didn't have cell signal (tmobile) and there's no wifi so be prepared!! Lu had so many great touches of hospitality and the place was wonderfully clean. My sister commented that Lu must be detail-oriented-- that's how thoughtful and clean the place is.

We would have stayed several extra days if we hadn't already booked somewhere else in the next several days. Thank you for the quick responses. Definitely recommend.

Included in your stay is an ample supply of board games; free breakfast, coffee, and tea; and the most peaceful, quiet view of thousands of stars from the hot tub on the back patio. The kitchen is well stocked, the property is private and safe for the kids to explore, and the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend this property, and we would love the opportunity to stay in this home again in the future.

  • Our family had a great time and there was a lot of space for all of us. It wasn’t as clean as we hoped, but maybe we just showed up at a bad time. The beds were mostly all comfy except for the downstairs, it could have been better. We still enjoyed our time and had a great stay.

    Cari2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Photos don't do this home justice. It's much larger and spacious in person. I stayed when the weather was stormy, but I'm sure the property is gorgeous in the spring and summer. For those unfamiliar with the area, please be mindful of the gravel roads.

  • The Bombay Getaway is a wonderful place to stay. Just a short drive outside Springfield, it is a private spot with city amenities near by. The hosts went out of their way to make our family feel welcome, showing us around the farm and introducing our kids to the animals (cows, horse, chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc.). Our kids loved it. The room was very clean and resort-like. It was the highlight of our weekend get-a-way.

Walk through the arbor, up the cobblestone path and charming stairs to the graceful wrap-around porch. The romantic 4,200 square foot inn was built in 1903 by the town doctor and his wife, Thomas and Mary Florence, and was the first house in town to have centralized heating: two fireplaces were added much later. The house and grounds have been completely remodeled throughout the past year to provide modern luxurious amenities but keeping the antiquity of yesteryears. The inn is a two-story home with a large wrap-around porch embellished with gingerbread accents inviting you to sit a while and enjoy the gardens. Ten-foot ceilings, stained glass tiffany lights, crown molding, delicate antiques and meticulously decorated rooms reflect the type of service you will enjoy in this by-gone era inn. This is a country style rancher, all on one floor, just four miles out of Marshfield on a quiet country lane nestled about halfway between Lebanon, MO and Springfield, MO (about 25 miles either way), right off I-44. Also, the house is 64 miles from Fort Leonard Wood and about 65 miles from Branson. Very clean, well furnished, and comfortable with plenty of room to relax and get away from it all. It really feels like home.
This house is a farm style rancher that has that coming home to Grandma's feel. While the house is "child friendly", it is not "child-proof". This is a one story (rancher) which means no stairs, but it is an old farmhouse and is not considered handicap accessible. The bathrooms and doorways are small. Cow pasture, hay fields, wildlife and gorgeous sunsets will be your view from this house. There is everything you need to make yourself at home.
There are a couple homes within view of this house. Very nice, quiet young families. Other neighbors are down the lane. Lots of pasture and yard between houses. There is a pond in a quiet setting just a short walk through the pasture and a wood. Fruit trees line the back yard. Deer and rabbits are frequent visitors of the yard.

  • Wow!!! This place is a hidden treasure!! It really did feel like going to Grandma's <3. The photos didn't do it justice. Everything was spotlessly immaculate and homey. Michelle went way above and beyond in making sure there was anything we could possibly need. Loved the reading nook, the bird feeder out the dining room window (saw cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, etc), the jacuzzi tub, the bumper pool, and the coffee nook... to mention a few. Enjoyed a peaceful walk down past the creek on the dead-end road. The beds were super comfortable. We left feeling very refreshed! Highly recommended!

  • On 05-24-2019 we sent Airbnb an email cancelling or reservations due to bad weather and a basement full of water , no response. We also called William an Susan both were very understanding unlike Airbnb whom we will never use again.

  • We had a wonderful experience during our stay at William and Susan place. We had a chance to enjoy a glass of wine on the large front porch overlooking their great garden area. The bedroom was large and had it's own bathroom/shower. We had great conversations with William/Susan as we learned quite a bit about the history of the property and what they do on their farm. We even saw them milk their cow in the morning! Highly recommend staying at this lovely property with the gracious William and Susan!

  • Susan and William were very accommodating to our special schedules and diets. They went above and beyond to serve us and made us felt so welcomed!

  • Awesome experience staying at this working generational farm B&B! Our gracious hosts made us feel relaxed and right at home and made our anniversary holiday so special and memorable. The food was delicious, the menagerie of farm activities and animals was interesting and fun to see and the location was ideal for sightseeing. We can't wait to come back! Don't hesitate to book this place!

  • This listing doesn't really convey just how idyllic an experience we had at High View Farm. The property is farmlike, but the most beautiful and gracious farm I've ever seen. The hosts are farmers, but with the capacity to cross that cultural divide as though it didn't exist. Our visit here was truly a beautiful interpretation of "sustainable agriculture" for the city person. Susan offered to prepare us dinner on our arrival, and it was sublime. She and William spent much valuable time answering our questions and showing us their plants, gardens, and animals. If we had been able to stay longer, we would have witnessed the birth of a calf. I don't know how I will be able to get back to Fordland, but I would like to spend a week there next time. I would like to mention that the home does not show as well in photos as it does in life. It is a lovingly and carefully restored ancestral farm house in Susan's family. I expected it to have, well, elements of rural life that are not our most-cherished elements (bugs, for example, skunks, and, well, old-age.). This was not the case. It was very, very clean and up-to-date; it was sort of time-capsule in the very best sense of that word. Beg Susan to show you her canning cupboard, with rows and rows of preserved fruit and vegetable, just like you read about in books. Beautiful!

  • Book this place ! Don't even think twice about it. You will love the warm welcome, the most wonderful food you can imagine! Seriously the food will have your tastebuds dancing for joy. It's peaceful, super clean, private, and a tranquil setting. William and Susan are amazing host! Don't miss out on this opportunity. We will be back for sure! Blessed by this experience.

  • The house is on a working farm, so unique in that aspect. A real bonus was the fine breakfast and snacks for our early morning departure.

Located a block from Marshfield’s town square is the luxurious Florence Inn Bed & Breakfast. From the front yard you can see the replica of the Hubble Telescope on the town square lawn. The cabin offers a glimpse of Ozarks family life in the 1800's, where Parham and Nancy Callaway raised 13 children in this 16x18 foot log structure. The park is in the heart of the city with beautiful walking trails, ponds, waterfalls, bridges, gardens, and fourteen separate springs. It has grown to almost ten acres with this year's addition of a bridge and pergola. Marshfield loves its festivals, parades and rodeos; and people come from all over the state to enjoy them. There are National and State parks close by with picnic areas, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, and hiking trails to enjoy. For the golfing enthusiast, there is a golf course not more than a 5-minute drive from the Florence Inn. Horseback riding, hunting, zip-lining, kayaking, shopping, sightseeing, shows, amusement parks are also close by. Branson and Silver Dollar City are always a favorite place to spend the day. There’s something for everyone!
