We live in a typical cosy and charming small cornish village called Mitchell, very centrally located and near the A30. (You will not have any problems with road noise though in the accommodation). There is a brand new kids play field, ping pong tables and a football field in the village. Our studio is a 2 min walk from the Plume of Feathers, a highly rated pub/restaurant. The Plume of feathers is a dog and kids friendly place. Every Tuesday (except during the summer months) they organise a pub quiz. There is also a nice beer garden to enjoy a drink when the sun is out. There is a 'pick your own' fruit farm (strawberries, raspberries,...) at one end of the village (great fun for the kids) and a rose farm at the other end. We are only an 8 min drive away from the famous wedding venue Nancarrow farm. Every saturday there is a big car boot sale in the village. Mitchell is ideally located to explore cornwall. There is some much to see in Cornwall so our central location is absolutely perfect to visit the east, west, north and south of cornwall. We are right in the middle between Newquay and Truro.

  • I booked a last minute weekend at Julie's place after having broken my ankles 3 months ago. Still on a crutch with limited mobility this was a fantastic place for me to come with my little boy and start to safely hobble around in nature. The gardens/farm are stunning and very easy to walk around, there is a magical essence to the whole place that you really have to go there to experience. The chalet was extremely well equipped with cute cottage features, again, for anyone with mobility issues it is all on one level and the bathroom has grab rails by the toilet and in the shower. Everything was lovely and clean and there was a kind touch of tea, coffee, sugar and milk, washing up liquid, salt and pepper etc. The beds were comfortable and the wall heaters in each room worked quickly later in the evening to have the place cosy and warm. Great advantage to have a washing machine and available dryer as if we were staying longer I would use. The shower was great got nice and hot with no temperature changes. Towels and bath mats and bedding were provided and the sofa bed was easy to pull out (unlike some). Plenty of parking space and close to the bnb to nip across to ask Julie if you have any queries. I was especially lucky to have found Julie as our host this weekend as being a mum with mobility problems on my own with an 8 year old son with autism, she was very kind and gave us a lift to the village and up to the church, then also to the Hawkins arms for Sunday dinner. This is a really lovely little place to stay for everyone and if you have younger children like me I'm sure the fairies may even come out to play in the gardens 😉 Already rebooked!

  • We had a great stay. The place is very peaceful, very comfortable, with beautiful surroundings. the place is about 20 minutes by car from Newquay and 40 minutes ish to St Ives. We would definitely stay there again... My son really enjoyed looking at the hens and cats.

  • We had a wonderful stay in this cosy chalet. Everything was as described. The setting is idyllic. We were moving our eldest daughter into her student flat in Penryn, so weren’t able to spend much time there, but it was lovely to return in the evenings. Julie and Tim are very welcoming and we would love to return in the future.

  • We spent wonderful 6 days in Three Acres Farm in Truro. The cottage is small, but you can find there everything what you need to enjoy your holidays. Julie is a great host, very helpful and kind. It's ca. 20 min. drive to Truro centre, which is really a nice town.

Treetops Penthouse is part of the historic 19th century mansion built for the Archdeacon of Cornwall. Take it easy on one of the two secluded private balconies with unforgettable rural/garden views, eat by the water lily pool with resident dragonflies, watch the miniature sheep, or explore the beautiful local countryside and the Falmouth Arms which is the village pub. The apartment is high up - hence Treetops - which gives you the best views in the village.
Treetops provides an idyllic and excellent central location in the very heart of Cornwall, with good access to both its North and South coastlines with fantastic beaches and walking country, world famous gardens and historic monuments. Surfing beaches, coves, inlets and delightful fishing villages, pubs and restaurants are in easy striking distance by car.
Ladock is a little village in an area of outstanding rural beauty located approximately six miles (9.5 km) north-east of Truro. Historically, Ladock was two small settlements; Bissick by the river and Ladock on the hill. Our village can be well appreciated from the property's balconies and windows. There is a post office and village store, a pretty church, a very active village hall with regular entertainments and other events and a good pub. There are beautiful walks in Ladock Woods.
  • Lovely property, recommended

  • Charming old English manor house at which it was a neat expertise stay. Roger was most friendly and introduced me to his adorable dogs. His miniature sheep and the sheep grazing on the nearby hillside made for a truly pastoral setting...the quintessential England experience!

  • A really lovely apartment with a real medieval feel which was great for the murder mystery we hosted... rooms were very spacious and comfortable, all amenities were available and close enough to get to other big towns (approx 20 mins in most cases). At the end of a day of adventure and exploring, comfortable beds made up with crisp cotton linen combined with peace, quiet and dark skies mean you're sure to leave Goonwinnow relaxed, refreshed and re-connected.
  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay! It was probably the most well-equipped Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. It was nice and cozy, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom was like a spa. There were very thoughtful touches, like croissants, butter, jam, and milk and orange juice for breakfast. We should have planned to stay for longer, as there were a lot of amenities on site as well, like a game room.

    Annie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a cosy little space for a quiet weekend then this is perfect. It is beautifully laid out and there are some very nice personal touches. We very loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great little additions throughout including those in the bathroom and magazines and folders full of local information. Would 100% stay again, so easy to find and response time and information from the hosts was incredible. :) Thank you

  • An absolutely beautiful cottage snuggled into the countryside. Stylish touches all over the cottage, like spa mood lighting in the bathroom with a giant bathtub and double showers, the beautiful industrial styled kitchen with a large butler sink, or the roaring modern logburner which warms you to your soul! We fell in love with the place instantly. We only stayed for one night, but we were extremely happy with our stay. Our only regret is not having time to eat the provided croissants before checkout! They looked delicious!

  • Had an amazing stay for valentine's weekend. Was looking for somewhere cozy to snuggle up in and forget the world, and Leon's cabin offered us just that. We stayed during storm dennis and was very warm and comfortable. The cabin has everything you could possibly need for your stay. Leon was not there to great us but kept in touch through messages and responded instantly if we had a query and his parents were next door so help was at hand should we of needed it. Loved the little touch of the scones left for our arrival (they were delicious, thank you), as well as the fresh milk in the fridge. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The village of Tregony in Cornwall is often referrred to as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The exceptionally wide Fore Street is a relic from the days when this was a busy port and market town with considerable traffic. The port has long since silted up due in part to china clay workings up stream, but Tregony has retained its charm. Tregony has an unusual clock tower on Fore Street and the seventeenth century almshouses which boast an unusual wooden gallery. The site of a twelfth century Norman castle known as ‘Treg-ney' from which the village got its name is situated on Tregony Hill. The woods and riverside in the area between here and Ruan Lanihorne are fantastic to explore. The river is a firm favourite with ornithologists the magical Lamorran Woods are alive with bluebells in the spring. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and the city of Truro are only a short drive away from Tregony.
  • A lovely, small place in an ideal location. Perfect to return too after a day of exploring the local attractions. Would certainly recommend and return!

  • A comfortable cosy cottage located in a peaceful spot. The people who lived around were friendly and welcoming. A wonderful location to explore this part of the world. A hop and a skip from secluded coves and wide sandy beaches. We had a lovely holiday, thank you. Julie and Mick

  • We loved this little cottage in a row of terraced houses. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The owner left us a welcome bottle of wine and there were toiletries available - both much appreciated. We loved the personal touches that made this property so homely. Thank you.

    David2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage has been well modernised while still leaving a few quirks and bits of character. It's warm and comfortable, and well equipped with everything needed to spend some time there. Tregony is a good base in that part of Cornwall, with access reasonable even further down to Lands End. The village itself doesn't have much in the way of shops, but farm shops and bakers can be found close by.

    Richard2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very cosy and well equipped. The kitchen is easily big enough to cook meals etc. The washing machine and tumble drier were also nice touches. Very comfortable location to drive around Cornwall from. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Art Deco inspired house with period fixtures, fittings and furniture to match the style. Ladock is a pretty village with several grade 2 listed buildings. The village has a pub (The Falmouth Arms) and local friendly store open 6 days a week. Ladock is geographically well placed for the north and south coasts (20 minutes drive each) and serves as a handy central base to explore the County. Pets welcome but charged at £40 per dog per stay. Maximum 1
Great house for getting away from it all. If you like Art Deco you will love this house.
  • Fantastic place and plenty of room for the 6 of us. Highly recommended and Robert was a great host, always easy to reach if we needed to and quick to respond. Wonderful stay.

  • Located in a peaceful and friendly village with a nearby shop/post office and pub, this is a great location for some quiet relaxation while not being far from many shops and attractions. The home is spacious with a lovely back garden area with a lovely view of a lake. A real gem

    Stephen2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, unique and quiet location that’s within easy drives of the north and south coasts along with the sights of Cornwall and Penzance. Would absolutely recommend for anyone.

    Justin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a gem ! I’m reluctant to sing it’s praises too loud in case the word gets out and we can’t book it next time!! Robert is the perfect host- friendly, considerate with a real feel for the comfort of his guests. The house has everything you need for a family or friends stay and such stylish decor. Perfectly placed for visiting Lost Gardens, Eden Project, beaches on North and South coasts and a great pub ( The Falmouth Arms) 2 minutes walk from the house. I honestly cannot think of anything that could have improved our stay. Thank you.

    Karen2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • An architectural gem. Stylish, spacious and spotlessly clean. Loved our all too brief but wonderful stay. Boys loved every second of it as did we and we genuinely hope to return one day for longer. Many thanks.

  • My family and I (a party of 8 adults and a baby) stayed in the Filter House for four nights in July 2019. We chose the house for its proximity to some of the most attractive sites in Cornwall and we were not disappointed. It is set in a small village within easy driving distance from Newquay and Falmouth. It is about one hour's drive from Lizard. Kynance Cove and Lizard are fabulous places to visit and very close to each other. Both, but especially Kynance Cove, offer spectacular natural scenery. Ladock village (where the Filter House is) borders attractive woods and includes a friendly quality inn that offers full and good English breakfast for 10 pounds per person (we didn't have a chance to try out the inn for lunch or dinner). The inn is three minutes walk from the house. The house is unusual. That is imnpart due to its past as part of the local waterworks. It is also because the owner has done up its interior beautifully in art deco style. The house is spacious, welcoming, comfortable and functional. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and work very well. We had a great time in the Filter House and would not hesitate to recommend it to other tourists.

    Kasper2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay Roberts place using it as a base for Newquay, Eden Project and even a longer trip to Lands end. As previously described, the unique house has been stylishly decorated and is spacious and comfortable (our party was 4 Adults and 2 kids). The lake to the rear of the property (not accessible but can be viewed from the back garden as it is a 10m deep old mine) has an abundance of wildlife. The back garden also includes an al fresco dining area and a grassed area with a badminton net. If that isn't enough for the kids there is also a nice small park with various park equipment and 5 a side goals directly next to the property. The village is very small but there is a small post office/shop selling essentials (and nice pasties) with a very friendly shop-keeper and also a pub with a Michelin star chef, all within 100m of the property (though we never made it to the pub). Robert was great friendly host with a wealth of local knowledge and was even kind enough to stock the fridge with scones, clotted cream, jam, Prosecco and various other bits. We had such a good time staying here we were already planning our next trip as we left! Highly Recommended!

  • The cottage is so very well presented and extremely clean. On arrival we were greeted by Emily. The Muffins made using apples from the orchard were delicious. Also local Baker Tom bread and local milk was most appreciated. It is very peaceful and in a good location to visit many coastal area. St. Mawes is a must and Trellisick gardens NT is nearby. We enjoyed our break very much and intend to return again.

    Mary2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place! Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cottage and loved all the little touches. Thank you for all the advice for where to go and the lovely muffins!

    Becca2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A warm and friendly welcome from Emily who showed us the accommodation. Very warm and cosy (loved the underfloor heating). Apple and Cinnamon Muffins (homemade) were delicious thank you! Recipe will come in handy! We’d only travelled from Devon and brought the rainy weather across the border with us so the lanes surrounding were a bit troublesome following the Friday night storm but we didn’t allow this to stop us from going to Newquay, Padstow and Boscastle for some time out! All in all a lovely little romantic hideaway and can definitely recommend! Thank you!

They were particularly accommodating of our 3 month old daughter, and left lots of thoughtful items for our use- including a crib, bouncer and baby bathtub! We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to visit again soon! Thanks again!

A Wooden studio chalet right on the edge of the Tresillian river. Inside there is a small kitchenette area allowing the freedom to cook, a table and chairs by the window enabling eating with a view, a bathroom with a shower and a large kingsize bed with a memory foam mattress for your comfort. Upstairs there is an extra lounge area with TV. Outside is your own private courtyard with heated seating area undercover right by the river. There are additional lounging seats to enjoy our summers.
Your space is right beside the river therefore you are welcome to bring your paddle boards or kayaks with you and enjoy the river. Please be aware the river is tidal and not in all day. We also have a covered area suitable for storing bikes during your stay, this is open and not lockable. You can fish in the river as long as you hold a UK river licence. This can be purchased at the post office right next door. Please note these activities are not covered as part of your stay and will be undertaken entirely with your own equipment and at your own risk. We do not provide activities and are not covered for them by insurance.
We are two and a half miles from Truro city centre but once you come into our driveway it can feel as if you are miles from the city. Opposite the rive, it is treelined and there is lots of wildlife to see, from birds to deer. You can Kayak on the river as long as you are happy to work with the tide as the river is tidal. We are on the main road through Tresillian next to the petrol station, this also has a shop and post office to offer services close by. There is a village pub within walking distance and a pasty shop for an easy lunch. Waitrose is a mile up the road to enable more food shopping and there is a good selection of main stream and individual shops in Truro. There is a bus stop approximately 200 yards from the property on a main bus route which serves all of Cornwall and beyond. There is a train station in Truro and an airport 16 miles away near Newquay.
  • We had a lovely stay at the river side chalet. The new first floor lounge was really useful / lots more space! Really enjoyed the river view. Perfect for our last minute weekend in Cornwall.

    Sarah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely chalet by the river that has everything you need. The photos don’t do the whole space justice. There is a comfortable TV seating area upstairs that was a complete surprise and everything is stylish and comfortable. We had no need for any help from Helen or Bridget but they are close by if needed. I’m from Truro so it was a 10 min bus into the city, a wander round some old haunts and a £10 cab home. We will definitely be back, no more need for a hotel.

    Darren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place, super cozy. Helen is an absolute star. Can’t recommend enough!

  • This cabin by the river really is a perfect getaway , it is exactly as it is portrayed in the photos , the welcome and cleanliness of the place was exemplary . The location on the river, hard to beat , we spent many hours in the seating area just watching the wildlife , and drinking the odd glass of wine. Thanks Helen, it was a super break, we will be back.

    Kevin2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little chalet just a few minutes' drive away from Truro. Picturesque location next to the river, and a well-presented little chalet with private garden area to relax in. Would definitely stay again!

    Isaac2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, spotlessly clean, every detail well thought out. The outside space right beside the river is fantastic. A hive of activity, we were lucky enough to see some deer, egrets, gannets, swans etc. Easy to drive to the many gardens and coastal spots that Cornwall has to offer. Helen was a great host. Would stay again if we were in the area.

Then scones on arrival were a lovely touch. There was plenty of room for us and our 7 month old son. The barn was spotlessly clean. Perfect location to visit many places in Cornwall. We had a fab week. Thank you again! Tom, Charlotte & Ed

  • What a nice stay! My wife and I (and our 2 year-old) were looking for a short retreat that was family-friendly and central to Cornwall, that was a bit special. The listing stood out as it was spacious and beautifully presented and a great price. Our impressions turned out to be accurate - we were warmly welcomed and felt help was at hand if we needed it (though we didn’t). We were sad to leave!

  • This place is beautiful, inside and out. I stayed for 4 nights with my 2 year old. It was perfect for us. The house is very big! I had my family over for dinner one evening, 7 of us in total, and we still had ample space. The scenery and setting are wonderful! We loved waking up and seeing the animals roaming around the farm. The house was super clean and tidy! Hannah and Muriel were lovely, and there if we needed them. Thanks for a great stay x

  • A lovely room in an interesting and loved farmhouse. The breakfast is fresh and Laetitia is a great host. Little touches such as flowers in the rooms and family mementos create a warm and welcoming space.

  • Gorgeous old house and a lovely host. Lovely and relaxing!

    Sarah2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment you arrive in this delightful farmhouse the charm of the place greets you. Laettia was very welcoming and her care and personal touches are everywhere. The more you look the more you see how much work has gone in to getting the home right. It's easy to underestimate how much work she does. The room was calm and peaceful and every inch gave to a wonderful relaxing break. Laettia is an inspiration and we left feeling completely refreshed. Thank you for a lovely stay. Absolutely recommend if you need a break from the outside world.

  • Laetitia's farmhouse is clean, comfortable and relaxed. Beautiful art and pottery adorn the house, located in a quiet village. Delicious cooked breakfast in the morning was an appreciated treat. Overall a wonderful stay and lovely host.

    Wayne2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and historic house. Amazing decor, especailly Laetitia's pottery. Lovely rooms. Great breakfast. Quiet village just off and very convenient for A30.

  • Read the tin ! This property is 17th Century. The style of furniture is in-keeping with the property, old but practical and very tasteful. You won't be asked to wash in a tin bath - there is a very decent shower. Laetitia is very welcoming and we were grateful to have the chance to get to know her personality and artistic skills. Home made toasted bread and jam complimented the cooked breakfast efficiently made to order. This was a very positive experience we will not forget in a hurry. And the location is great for venturing north and south.

This beautifully converted barn is in lovely countryside north of Tregony at the gateway to the Roseland Peninsula. A truly superb place to stay, this conversion is centrally heated and double glazed, yet retains its undoubted character, with oak timber floors, exposed stonework, a newly fitted kitchen and bathrooms.
Little Carwinnick is a beautifully converted barn and is superbly presented by the owners. It is a truly superb place to stay, being centrally heated and double glazed, yet retaining its undoubted character, with oak timber floors and exposed stonework, a newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. Located in a peaceful, yet extremely convenient location at the north end of the Roseland Peninsula. Carwinnick is superbly positioned for those wanting to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or the Eden Project, both of which are less than 20 minutes drive away. The barn benefits from a sizeable living space with comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV and a fully fitted modern kitchen. There is access onto the patio area with its tables and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining. The property stands in gardens and grounds extending to around 2 acres. The majority is grassed, making it an ideal area for children to play and explore. There is a small copse where bluebells flower in the spring. In addition the Owners have set over 3,000 daffodil bulbs since the development was completed! The former enclosed farmyard is a wonderful sun trap and catches the setting sun and is laid out with limestone paved patios to provide both sitting and outside eating areas, weather permitting. The village of Tregony (3.5 miles away) in Cornwall is often referrred to as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The site of a twelfth century Norman castle known as ‘Treg-ney’ from which the village got its name is situated on Tregony Hill. Tregony has a good local convenience store, plus a Post Office and good village pub in the Kings Arms. For really good food, we recommend the Kings Head at Ruan Lanihorne, only a short drive away. The city of Truro (10 miles away) with it's great shopping including a Tesco, Sainsburys & Marks & Spencers, is within a 15 minute drive of Tregony. St Austell (5 miles away) was once the major producer of the worlds China Clay, now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The brewery has recently started exporting their products across the Tamar River to England, so you may just find where your favourite brew is made. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan a 20 minute drive towards Mevagissey, and Charlestown mere minutes away it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple 20 minutes drive past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. A short car ferry across the river takes you on to Polruan. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey, a festival of her works takes place each May.
  • Little Carwinnick is a wonderful place to spend holidays in Cornwall: clean, quiet and with all the facilities you need. Very friendly owners. All sights are within easy reach. Highly recommended.

  • Very comfortable and cozy, in a beautiful location. Facilities very good, and you really feel you've got away from it all. Great location to explore east to Eden, or west to Falmouth. Lots of space for you to enjoy whether it's in the lounge watching the TV or in the dining room having a coffee at the table (range cooker is decorative only). The garden is a lovely space to relax and has a gas barbecue for a sunny day. The bedrooms are light and airy with nice furnishings, the bathroom is spacious and functional and the kitchen provides what you need for your stay. The Cottage has some nice traditional features and little quirks in layout you would expect from an old place.
  • Great place, we all loved the character this traditional cottage had to offer, along with being able to park at the front door. The cottage is located close to a local shop and nice places to eat out (or take away), easy to find, and slept 4 people comfortably. Gary was great with our booking, very easy to get in touch with, and we're very appreciative of his willingness to help us out on our short notice booking.

  • We had a lovely stay here. Heather was really nice and welcomed us when we arrived. It's a great place to relax and we used it as a base to explore some of Cornwall for a few days. Fully recommend staying here.

    Adam2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Snuggery is a very peaceful and relaxing place, felt very at home and spacious inside with plenty of light, the underfloor heating is very nice and warms the place up brilliantly and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need. We found Heather to be a brilliant host, very helpful, welcoming and very good knowledge of the local area, with a good recommendation of where to eat. On arrival Heather left us a lovely welcome present - Breakfast - Bacon, butter and milk also, Scones, jam and cream, which was a very nice, and went down like a treat. We found The Snuggery to be in a brilliant location, to get to Truro, Perranporth and Newquay, around a 20 minute drive. I would definitely recommend The Snuggery as a place to stay and we'll be staying here again in the future. We would like to thank Heather for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Regards, Tom & Rachael.

    John2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely ideal stay at The Snuggery as a mini-honeymoon. As indicated on the listing and in other reviews here, the complimentary cream tea upon arrival and breakfast items in the fridge were thoughtful, welcoming and very handy! The Snuggery was superbly clean, and is excellently stocked with all the utensils, glassware, crockery, furniture and linens that you might need on a holiday. It is wonderfully cosy and yet very up-to-date too, with big skylight windows and underfloor heating. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet very convenient for getting to Truro and any number of beaches, heritage sites and visitor attractions. Being able to bring our dog was a real bonus, and incidentally he settled in straight away too! Heather and family were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, whilst leaving us in control of our own space. We were really sorry to have to leave after only three nights and can easily see ourselves returning at some point. For the hosting, location and quality of provisions, you get a great deal for your money here - don't hesitate to book!

Double bed accommodation with wet room, sitting area and small kitchen. The kitchen includes: a full cooker, toaster, kettle and fridge. Bed linen and towels are provided. Smart tv, radio and Wi-Fi also included.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Hare’s Hut, warm and snug in the cold and wet weather but would be equally lovely in the summer when you can enjoy the outside space. Great for a couple, the hut has everything you need; comfortable bed, excellent shower, and all essentials for the kitchen. Close to Truro with easy access to Falmouth and surrounding coastal walks. Would definitely return if visiting the area again.

  • Our stay was absolutely outstanding. The location was stunning and the hut was more luxurious than I had ever imagined. I cannot reccomend this place enough! 10X better, more unique, more private, and more beautiful than a hotel. So happy we chose to stay here. Incredibly good value.

  • Perfect little get away - close and ideal for day trips all around Cornwall. I would definitely recommend this for any couple looking for a quiet get away! 10/10.

  • The lovely Hare’s Hut has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the nature. We enjoyed the beautiful view! Despite the limited space, the hut is very well equipped and has thoughtful details. We absolutely recommend Julie and Mike’s hut for a stay around Truro 😊

    Sarah2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a brilliant time at hare hut. It's just a few miles from Truro, so you have all the supermarkets and shops nearby, but it's actually far enough away down a lane with views over fields that you feel you are in the middle of the countryside. It's a really great location for exploring Cornwall by car as it's pretty central and easy access to main roads. The hut has all mod cons, inside shower, toilet, kitchen, heating etc and is positioned away from the house overlooking fiels, so it feels very private. I would highly recommend. Thanks again for a great stay.

  • Booked Hare’s Hut for my parents - they loved it!

    Angie2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews - they’re just starting out but they’re great!! We have stayed in several shepherds huts but this was by far the best! Ultra modern and homely, spotlessly clean, everything you could possibly need for your stay including fully stocked kitchen tools. The hut is in their garden but feels nice and secluded with lovely views and a table and chairs outside. With the underfloor hearing, heated towel rail and having the oven on to make dinner, it was really warm and cosy! Thanks Julie!

Welcome to the Shabby Shack. The Shabby Shack wasn't always shabby it was once a wagon unloved and lost to the Cornish undergrowth. It hadn't been used for 30 years and was falling to bits, slowly. However, after a year of painting, sawing, polishing and wiring, the wagon has had a new lease of life and has been up-cycled to the Shabbiest Chichiest Shack in Cornwall. Come and enjoy staying in Shabby as much as we loved up-cycling him
The shabby shack is completely off grid all electricity comes from solar panels. There is absolutely no hidden gas bottles powering anything. This mean you have one of the most environmentally friendly holidays in Cornwall. A week here and you ll be Smug in the knowledge that your Carbon foot print was ant sized. If the sun does nt shine a day or so lighting the wood burner provides a source of heat and cooking ; the wood is from the surrounding farmland so you can be snug but also still smug in the knowledge that no fracking or drilling has occurred to heat or feed you. The location is ideal for getting that much craved for peace and tranquility.
The odd bird may peer at you, a butter fly may flutter by. I would watch out for the local Owl who may swoop over you at night and give you a hoot.
  • Great place, beautiful location - helps you get back to basics

  • We had a great week at the Shabby Shack and we didn’t want to leave at the end. Nick and his friends at the farm were really helpful and lovely to meet. There were lots of animals too! We saw a horse everyday and when we were having BBQ a dog and a cat came to share with us. Obviously we needed to adjust our daily schedule a bit to save energy, but it added to the experience and didn’t cause any real problems. You can use all amenities in a sunny day. Even in a day when it was cloudy and drizzling all day we still have enough electricity for showers, lights and phone charging. Do use the woodburner and bbq to cook as it gave much more fun than using the microwave. It also had one of the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, and do try the blackberries you can find nearby if come during Autumn. Thanks Nick for creating such a lovely little place.

  • The shack is far from shabby...it has been renovated to a very high standard! The bed is also exceptionally comfortable 💤😁! We had to learn how to control the power, but after some sunshine we could use all the amenities. Great location for Eden and other parts of Cornwall.

  • We loved the shabby shack, lovely touches and peaceful location. Stayed with my 5 year old grandson, he loved the adventure, the farm is so interesting and a lovely host family, many thanks to Peter for the tour. Great location for exploring coasts of Cornwall, highly recommended.

  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Shabby Shack and despite there being spells of extreme weather we always felt safe, warm and cosy. Nick was a great host and was there to greet us shortly after our arrival and shared with us everything we needed to know including the history and origin of the Shabby Shack. As well as making good recommendations for meals out and day trips, Nick was very quick with his responses to any queries we had. We would highly recommend the Shabby Shack to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of city life with the option of visiting both sides of the beautiful Cornish coast.

  • This is a lovely little place in a beautiful spot, calm and relaxing. Great base for exploring Cornwall. Within 15-30 minutes you can be at a coastal town. Only drawback I had and it wasn’t anything to do with the place or Nick, was my sat nav wanted to take me up a dead end road to get to the the farm. However my phone sat nav took me straight there. Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Lisa2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place in an idyllic setting right on the edge of the working farm. The shack itself is perfect size for two people and is in a great location to visit north or south Cornwall. Incredibly relaxing stay and would recommend to anyone.

    George2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The shabby shack is lovely place to rest/relax in the heart of Cornwall. We found it easy to commute around Cornwall to the beaches and towns we desired. Lovely touches (from homely cushions to outdoor benches) around the household (train) added to the experience and may the small space feel far larger than first thought. Nic was a very welcoming and approachable host. Had a lovely stay - can highly recommend.

Charming Cornish Cottage with beautiful rural scenes all round. Small but spacious room that will suit the single traveller, but will also cater to couples. Situated in the village of Tregony, which is locally known as the gateway to the Roseland. The village offers a local shop, hairdressers, pub/restaurant and is on a direct bus route to Truro City and the Roseland Peninsula. A short drive to the local beaches and stunning coastal walks.
Guests will have access and are welcome to use the kitchen/diner, the shared bathrooms, the balcony and garden terrace. This property will be unsuitable for those with mobility restrictions, due to the nature of access and stairways within. This is a home that is lived in by myself and my daughter, and we own two small dogs and two cats. Whilst the bedroom is pet free, guests will need to be comfortable with the family pets in the rest of the property. There is no private parking, however the Village has a small carpark at the bottom of the hill, which is about 50m away. Alternatively, guests are able to park opposite the cottage on the road if space is available.
  • I would highly recommend Tereza’s charming cottage to anyone. She is a wonderful host!

Shepherds Crook has been sympathetically converted to provide a delightful holiday let overlooking the tranquil countryside. Ground Floor. Fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room with electric hob and oven, combination microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer and Tassimo coffee maker. Fully furnished sitting room with TV, DVD player, wood burner and dining area. From the sitting room french doors open out onto the large raised decked area which over looks the garden. A selection of books and board games are available. Cloakroom with toilet and wash basin. Bedroom 1 with super-king double bed (6'), smart tv, ensuite wet room, with shower toilet and wash basin. First Floor. Bedroom 2 with 'zip and link' beds (either super-king double or twin) and ensuite bathroom, with bath, shower over bath, toilet and wash basin and far reaching views. Bedroom 3 with 'zip and link' beds (either super-king double or twin) and ensuite shower room with shower, toilet and wash basin. All pillows, duvets, bed linen and towels are provided. Unfortunately dogs are not permitted as Shepherds Crook is on a working farm. Changeover day is Saturday during peak months with flexibility and short stays accepted at other times.
Though close to the amenities of Probus and Truro, Shepherd's Crook is located up a narrow lane, this is the only access to the properties at Treverbyn Farm and makes the properties quite secluded.
  • Hannah was the perfect host! The house is stunning and the scenery is beautiful. We would 100% recommend Hannah's place and would love to return when we are back in Cornwall!

  • Kerensa is a lovely, the perfect place to get away from it all, in a beautiful part of the country. The dog walks are endless, and Kerensa serves as a fantastic hub to explore Cornwall. Will is very quick to respond to messages, and can often be seen working on the farm if you need to speak to him.

  • This is a lovely cosy cottage, set in beautifully quiet surroundings not far off the A30. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It is in the middle of a working farm so bring your wellies, but this adds to the charm. Recommend if you like to get away from it all!

  • The accommodation at The Lighthouse was super, really comfortable, a home form home with great amenities. The hosts John & Jill were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, allowing us access to their gardens and dogs! The location was pleasantly quiet but had good access to transport links so as not to feel isolated and access to Truro town centre and the rest of Cornwall was easily achieved. Can't recommend highly enough.

Luxury converted two-storey cottage in a peaceful location with stunning surroundings. Little Hendra is located at Hendra Barns, a tranquil resort of just three properties. Close to the main arterial route, but far away enough not to be aware of it, the location is perfect for exploring Cornwall's beaches and attractions. There is a patio area at the front of the property with a furniture set and barbecue for outdoor entertaining. Little Hendra has a small enclosed rear courtyard.
Hendra Barns is a tranquil and private retreat; just three properties share the 2.5 acre site with fishing lakes. Close to the A30 main arterial route, guests can access the county's finest beaches and leading attractions. The properties at Hendra Barns have been lovingly converted from agricultural barns by owner Ken Evans, with great attention to quality and detail. Wildlife is abundant; from our sociable peacocks to the ducks on the lake and pheasants in surrounding fields.
  • We arrived late, on a windy and wet Friday evening, only to find Little Hendra toasty warm and cosy. We were very grateful for the welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, clotted cream, scones and jam) and beautiful daffodils.😋 Despite storm “Dennis”, which gave us very windy conditions and rain, we slept like logs! The bedrooms are comfortable and warm. We spent an amazing five days in Mitchell. The location is ideal to explore Truro, Newquay, Falmouth and St Austell. The walks around the lakes are peaceful and picturesque, great if you are into photography. We spotted ducks, pheasants, squirrels and heard owls. The whole stay was relaxing and quiet. We had all we needed to cook a meal. There are however lots of places to eat in the area. Thank you so much to Ken and family. Any queries were dealt with very quickly, nothing was too much trouble. When the scales were not working, they let us even borrow their own. We certainly would love to stay there again and would highly recommend.

So quiet so peaceful and yet so comfortable and tastefully decorated, very clean - with everything you need. A cuddly cozy nest! The garden and the expanse of the view are breathtaking. Ken is a warm, friendly and helpful host. We felt very comfortable here and will definitely be back!

  • Amazing property at a great location. Very private and quite. The family had a grand time staying at the Little Hendra, so much so that our little (fur) babies didn't want to leave 😊 Will most definitely be returning in the future.

  • Beech Barn is a fabulous, cosy place in a location great for exploring Cornwall. From our welcome from Sally through to the little touches, like spare towels for muddy dogs, we loved every minute of our stay despite some rather wet and windy weather.

  • Sally was very helpful and thoughtful. From leaving us tasty welcome gifts for us and our dog; to staying up very late to make sure we arrived ok. She clearly takes a lot of pride in her property and keeps it looking like new and very well looked after. She gave us some very useful tips on places to visit. It all made for a very enjoyable trip in a beautiful setting

  • We had a wonderful time in Sally & Peter's Beech Barn. They are wonderful hosts and Beech Barn is a real home! The location is perfect for day trips to all of Cornwall's famous cities and sights thanks to its central location. Already before our stay the contact to Sally was very heartly and we got many good hints for our journey, check-in and stay. Sally welcomed us and our two dogs and surprised us with Scones & Cream and treats for the dogs. Beech Barn is one of the most tasteful and comfortable holiday apartments. Everything is very stylish, comfortable, spacious and well thought out. Many thanks to Sally & Peter. For us one thing is certain: When we once come back to Cornwall, it will be to you!

  • We really appreciated the peacful location of this converted barn. Everything inside is quality and great attention to detail. It is situated in a good position to many great visits. Unfortunately our weather was not good so thank goodness our accommodation was so good. Its very near Truro for provisions there is a good Waitrose and Great Cornish Hall. We enjoyed Trebah gardens and The Lost Gardens of Heligan our only two trips due to weather. Sally is a great host who nothing is too much trouble thank you

  • Sally and Peter were fantastic hosts! They have beautifully renovated their barn into the perfect little retreat. The barn is the most well equipped air bb we have ever staying in everything has been thought of with great attention to detail. It’s super cosy and was a real treat for us and the dogs to light the fire after a day out exploring the coats. The place was also absolutely immaculate, we really enjoyed our stay here. . The homemade scones, little chocolates and bottle of bubbly were a lovely touch too! Thankyou Sally abd Peter we will be back again x
