Great place, easy to find

This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a great one. We found the house to be very clean and well organized. It is in a good location in a quiet neighborhood a short distance to a beach. Communication from the owners was nice and timely.

Needed a relaxing getaway, and this place delivered in full! Easy walking distance to a nice beach, plus just a short car ride away from a great dog park! The place was very comfortable.

Very nice house. Spotless. Excellent location. My kids really enjoyed playing at the beach which is crossing the street. There is an ice cream shop, a Mexican restaurant, a KFC, a minigolf place, a water spray and a playground within walking distance. We are definitely coming back.

We had a great time! Very nice apartment and very clean an stylish. Very relaxing get away for our 15 year anniversary!

Clean, convenient, and quiet.

This is a great location right with a short walk to the lake! It’s super clean and bright and offers plenty of space for your stay! Tamy was super helpful and responsive!

Tamy's space was perfect for our family of 4. It was within walking distance of several parks, the pier and downtown. It had a full kitchen and was very clean, there were even toys for my kiddos to play with. It was very easy to check in and out and Tamy was very responsive. We would absolutely stay here or another one of Tamy's properties again!

Very clean and comfortable apartment!

Really not much more to say than what other reviews stated, but it’s those reviews that made me pick the place. Check in is effortless as there’s a lock box. The place is super clean and cozy. Great location within feet of two parks and the lake. Hosts are super friendly and quick to respond to any needs. Highly recommend this place and the hosts.

We had a wonderful stay! Tamy was very accommodating and filled us in on the kid friendly activities in the area. There are a couple beaches within walking distance, one with a splash pad that our kids loved. The downtown area is also within walking distance. It was the perfect spot for us and we will definately be coming back!

Tammy is a great host. super clean space, easy check-in/out, comfortable space, good location, plenty of parking, washer/dryer if you need it, bright kitchen (careful, the smoke detectors are sensitive and really loud), tons of extra touches, and even a complementary bottle of local wine!

Tamy's house was absolutely wonderful! The place was spotless and right across the street from Lake Huron. The sunrises were beautiful in the morning as they came right through the front window! Very nice touches such as a welcoming bottle of wine from the local Thunder Bay Winery! House was well stocked and comfortable and the beds were extremely comfy! Would recommend this house and will definitely stay there again!

Loved it and will stay again! Location is awesome and close to downtown. Stylish decor. Comfortable beds. Very clean and appears to be freshly remodeled. Gorgeous oversized baseboards and trim. Love that we could see the waves from the window and we were just a few doors away from Thompson Beach. Plenty of parking in paved lot behind the home, also belonging to owners.

Tamy is a great host! She's extremely easy to communicate with, and the house was even better than I expected! It's centrally located in town, was very clean, and was a very nice space. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. I'd definitely stay there again!

Tamy clearly cares a lot about her guest experience! She goes out of her way to make sure everything about the place is perfect. I am one that prefers to cook while I'm away from home and her kitchen was fully stocked with everything kitchen appliance and utensil I could hope for! Not only that but there was the bonus of great organic coffee and a bottle of wine. We truly felt like we were very special guests! Not only that but the location is fantastic and we were able to actually talk to a handful of places!!

Tamy’s House is in a great location. It was walking distance to the beach and downtown and only 1.7 miles from a Meijer! The house was beautiful and comfortable and the coffee that was provided was superb! Our kids keep asking to go back to the vacation house!

This is a very stylish space. The bed and bedding is super comfortable. We slept great. The location is in walking distance to some restaurants/bars and the downtown. We loved our stay.

This air bnb was FAR better than any other air bnb and hotel I’ve stayed in. VERY clean. Everything you need is provided and the location was ideal for our trip. It was also very quiet.

This place is awesome, very private, and beautiful. It is modern exposed brick with very new everything inside. Our host was clear with directions and it was easy to check in. This place is very close to downtown and the theatre. Loved our stay would definitely recommend this place to others!!!

This house was amazing! We were in the area for a hockey tournament so decided to do an Airbnb to have full amenities. The house was clean, fully stocked and Shelly accommodated our last minute tournament changes. We will definitely be back!!!

This place was great. Cozy and warm.

We had a wonderful stay. There was plenty of room for my children and their families to stay. We appreciated the dog friendly fenced in yard. The house was decorated tastefully. It was stocked with many items we needed for a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. I did bring some of my own pans, but we were making a big dinner. I recommend this quaint Tudor bc and would stay there again.

A hidden gem! I got to call this updated, stylish apartment home for a few weeks between moving from one home to another in Alpena. It was the perfect space in a great location stocked with everything we needed.

Have stayed here before and will stay again in the future. Great location close to restaurants, shops, etc. Chris provides everything you need for a perfect stay (shampoo/cream rinse, soaps, coffee, oatmeal, etc). Laundry in the apartment with Roku TV are also big pluses. Great value for what you get here. Highly recommend!

The location to downtown is great and just a couple block walk. All the instructions were perfect. Do not let the outside fool you as the inside is new and very clean. The apartment had all the amenities you would ever need for a trip to Alpena.

Chris's place was exactly as described. His place was extremely clean and tidy and had all of the basic necessities. The kitchen was a great surprise and we really appreciate the thought put into it. The location was extremely close to downtown and within walking distance to several landmarks in the area. Austin Brothers Beer Company and Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary are two to check out! Chris and Margie were extremely quick to respond and wonderful to communicate with. If we were ever in the area again, we would definitely stay again! Thank you again so much! Vanessa, Matt, & Lea

Elizabeth’s place was just perfect for our needs. We had the perfect provisions for our winter getaway. The sun rose in my bedroom window over the frozen lake each morning and there were plenty of amenities within a short distance. We had a great time and will be back!

I stayed for a week during the winter, so I wasn't able to use the lake, but it's lovely view, and a beautiful sunrise. There is a mini-market in walking distance, and a bar/restaurant less than a mile away, so once you're there, you really don't need to go far. It is however, just a 15 minute drive into Alpena, and they have a huge binder of resources of things to do, places to eat, etc., in the area. The cottage was very neat, and well stocked. I hope to be able to visit in the summer.

The hosts are very accommodating and the cabin was extremely clean. The location is excellent and there was enough space to park 3 vehicles and a trailer. Also, we could access the lake from the cabin. A great place to stay!

Absolutely enjoyed my stay. I was in the area for work and was able to come back every day to cook and relax in a cozy warm cabin. The lake view was beautiful and it was easy access. I highly recommend if you are look for a quiet get away in a small home, cozy and quiet

This is in a great area and Captain Paul was awesome. We will definitely be coming back to the area!

Paul is a great host with almost spontaneous reply, when anytime we tried to reach him prior to and during our stay. Staying in a boat is a great concept, if you have not done it before. Sipping a cup of coffee on the top of the boat, with a nice week of the lake, in the early morning is very refreshing. We created a lifetime memory with our teenager kids.

Boat was very clean and comfortable, Paul was very helpful and accommodating

You can expect the I Upmost respect and hospitality. My wife and I absolutely loved this place.

Great Place to hold an event. Great space and beautiful view

This place looked nice online, but was even more beautiful in person. Beautiful scenery, clean house, very comfortable beds, and the master bedroom suite and outdoor hot tub was amazing! We are definitely coming back and bringing our kids along next time to fish in the pond outside.

Buffys house exceeded my thoughts and expectations! The home was spacious for the 10 people we had! Plenty of bed spaces! We were surprised to find out there were actually 5 beds instead of four in the big room! Lots of property to explore! Went on a nice hike out in nature and enjoyed the silence! Lots of deer were seen on the property! Great communication when we had questions. We had a problem with the hot tub turning off on us and Dave was quick to come over and change the filter and show us how to fill the hot tub when it got low! The hot tub was perfect and fit about 6 people in it. We got lost getting to the property because our gps thought it was somewhere it wasn’t! Just follow the road till it dead ends into the house. We will most definitely be back!

This was an incredible place for my family. We had a lot of people and it held all of us well! We will definitely be coming back down the road!

We loved the private and peaceful location. It was perfect for our women's leadership team retreat with lots of space for everyone. Everything was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub in the midst of a January snow storm. We hope to come back again!

This house is in a beautiful secluded wooded area, we loved it. Lying in bed in the morning and watching the deer wander around was an added bonus too. Snow on New Years Eve was nice while we were in the hot tub. House is well equipped, with everything you might need, including plenty of towels. A great time to relax and be together as a family and have some quality time. Buffy's communication was great too, we will be back

A great place in a great location!

Lauron was a wonderful host. The place was clean, comfortable and makes you feel at home. There is plenty of general goods that are provided such as food (although the only thing we used was the coffee), toiletries, first aid supplies, board games, cleaning products, etc., which was way more than we expected. The house is centrally located so it’s a short walk to downtown and the beach is across the street. It’s not a private beach but any time we went there were only a few other people there. If you’re looking for a good hike I recommend Rockport Recreation Area and Ocqueoc Falls. Both are a very fun hike and make sure you wear your swimsuit.

The location is great: walking distance from downtown Alpena and across the street from a beach. This house is cute, and clean; the owner is very thoughtful & easy to get in touch with if you need anything. This is our 2nd year staying at this site; we were very impressed.

The location is fantastic! We hiked everywhere and enjoyed the small beach access right across the street.

Thompson Park is a 2 minute walk across the street with a small sandy beach. Our group really enjoyed the freedom this provided to walk to and from the house to the water. The house has all the amenities we needed and plenty of space. We had multiple blenders going and a kitchen that made meal preparation and storage a cinch. Truly an awesome “up north” experience. Would recommend!

Charming, quiet location with incredible sunsets. A small little cottage, that is just right if you're looking to escape the hubbub of the city or suburban area. Expect to be outdoors, or sitting down with a very good book.

Sunset better than described :) then gazing at the stars was awesome too. We really enjoyed the lake, location and fire pit! Decent fishing lake as well - Nice cabin and will be back!

Gorgeous cottage on the lake with an unreal view of the sunset. Very nice and relaxing getaway.

This cottage is in the perfect spot on Long Lake. If you need a place to stay in Alpena, this cottage is so much better than staying in a motel. The hosts do a great job of welcoming you! The sunsets are spectacular and the water is perfect for swimming, sandy and shallow.

Super great hosts

Perfect weekend getaway, close to downtown Alpena to enjoy local restaurants and coffee. We were lucky enough to catch the summer music in the park. The best part about this spot is enjoying the evening sunset with an ice cold beverage as it is truly amazing!

This cozy place is located on the best part of Long Lake. The water is crystal clear and the sand is soft. You can walk out a long way into the lake without the water getting deep. Ideal for kids! The neighbors are very close but overly helpful and friendly. Melissa supplied pretty much everything and anything you may need including water toys for the kids. The sunsets are amazing. We spent many nights out at the fire pit watching the sun go down across the lake. This place is a hidden gem for a summer lake vacation 😊

Great place to stay for a cozy little retreat. The hosts and accommodations were great and the sunsets were unbeatable. It made our 4th of July the best yet as a family. We will be back for sure!

Very clean and functional space in Alpena. Stayed here for a week with a coworker while working at the Alpena Community College and it worked perfectly for what we needed.

Great house for our all-adult group with plenty of room. Lots of towels & linens - so don't be concerned about that earlier review. Great location with easy access to US-23 and everything in the Alpena area. Amy was great at communicating with us as needed. Had a lovely 1 week stay diving the shipwrecks in Thunder Bay!

Great place with good communication. The fire pit is nice for the chilly nights and the golf course view is beautiful.

The house worked out perfectly. Twin Acres 19th Hole was within walking distance which was perfect for lunch. we really didn't leave other than to get a few ingredients for dinner.

The house was so clean and comfortable. Truly the cleanest Airbnb we’ve stayed at thus far. Laura was quick to respond to all of our questions. The kitchen was well equipped and the appliances were clean and new and worked well. The house itself is very charming and was very comfortable for our family of four. We will stay there again the next time we’re in Alpena!

an ideal turn key experience...well kept, prepped and thoughtful property

Laura's house is just perfect for my husband and me when we come home to Alpena to see family. The house is super clean, has a well-stocked kitchen, nice linens, is very spacious and in a great neighborhood. Check-in was super easy and her communication is great. This is the second time we stayed here and we plan to stay here every time we travel north!

Great space. Would definitely stay again. We came in October to see the colors and found this lovely accommodation in a beautiful grove of trees with a view to kill. The interior was rustic and quaint with woodsy, Up-North cabin vibes. Lots of good movies and information on local sights.

Bailey's On The Bay was an excellent fit for us, we had 3 adults and 2 children for a weekend of Ice Fishing. The home is very clean and spacious. You can tell Steve and Jane go the extra mile to make sure you have great stay. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Alpena area! 5 Stars for sure!

Wow!!!! What an amazing space at a great value no less! Excellent location very close to downtown, the marina, parks, etc. The place was absolutely huge! We kept talking about it our entire stay. I have stayed at many Airbnb’s and have done a lot of travel. I tend to notice every little thing when it comes to cleanliness and this place was spotless. I am sure we will look to stay here again! We had some little ones with us on this trip and they loved the extra touches like the basket of Lincoln Logs and the small wooden rocking chair. Staying here made our entire visit to Alpena amazing! No doubt we will be back!

The place was amazing and what an ideal location. Picturesque wooded area but yet not too far away from stores and restaurants. Took the family for an ice fishing trip and would live to visit again in the summer to enjoy the river right out back. Jenny was very informative and accommodating:) Thank you for having us!

Great place, great Host... rented for a month and all went well! Recommend!

The places is very spacious!! Lots of room in the living room, the master bedroom is very big and the bed was very comfy. Our young kids loved the upstairs with the twin beds - they loved having their own space! Very convenient location off the main road and not far from town. Yard is pretty, beautiful wood flooring, and it was quiet for sleeping. Immaculately clean, too!

Teresa’s house is a gem. Everyone in my group of 7 was wowed by the lofted ceiling, tasteful decor, and extra touches like board games and dvds. They also had plenty of space and supplies for 7. This house is right on the lake with a cute deck which people could enjoy more in the summer. Lauron was fantastic in responding to my request very quickly, even through the NYE holiday, and kindly arranged an early check-in so I could get to my grandpa’s funeral on time - excellent host! One note is that there are two small bedrooms upstairs, with slightly shorter than standard beds. This was fine for my family but someone over 6 feet tall might want to sleep on the first floor. Highly recommend staying here.

Clean property, very nice and quiet location. Went in winter so I think a summer trip there would offer more recreation. It was a nice location to have Thanksgiving.

The minute I walked inside, I was blown away. It’s such a beautiful place and the view and atmosphere was fantastic. I didn’t want to leave by the end and I already am making plans to go back. It’s perfect for getting away and being alone for a long weekend - which was my purpose but also great for couples and families. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Such a beautiful home! The view from the porch was wonderful and there is zero light pollution and had seen more stars then I ever have! The house was super clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to stay again! A great price and if you're looking to see wild life in a comfy home and enjoy nature it is the perfect home for you.

The cottages were just what we were looking for in our lake escape! You can’t beat the location — close enough to all the amenities to be convenient and still remote enough to be a break from it all. We loved having a private beach and saying good morning and goodnight to the lake every day. The other guests who were there at the same time were very friendly and welcoming. Tom and Sue were very responsive and communicative.

Tom and Suzanne were friendly, agreeable and easy-going hosts. We found just what we were looking for at Oakapiney and can happily recommend them to families and folks who want a quiet and private time on the lake.

Oakapiney cottages are the perfect escape from busy city life. The cottage has beautiful lake view and everything you need for living. Tom and Sue are kind people and very hospitable hosts. You can swim in the lake, paddle or just sunbathe. I would recomend it to everyone who wants to find balance between the city life and quiet nature living.
