Family-friendly vacation rentals in Puntarenas Province

My friend and I really appreciated Ana Maria's hospitality and her family's gorgeous home. We loved the special personal touches including the jungle of house plants and well-stocked library with board games and books. Having the fireplace stocked with wood made it possible to have the perfect ambiance for reading in front of the fire on a misty afternoon! We found it helpful to have earplugs at night, as the home is close to a transit road, and earplugs did the trick to help us sleep soundly.

Beautiful home with a private and relaxing pool. Easy bike ride into town with private access to a beautiful black sand beach. The home is comfortable, clean and has a well stocked kitchen. Martha and her team (Ricardo and Ale) were extremely friendly and helpful and very responsive. Great job! We would stay here again.

Norman’s place is amazing and he was very communicative and helpful! Would definitely recommend to go there and I would love to go back.

Randall was the perfect host. We requested early check in because of an engagement we needed to attend early in the day and he worked with us. We would highly recommend his home. Perfect experience for the first time at Costa Rica.

The whole place was great, we had enough space, could relax by the pool, cook and enjoy the time. We were able to easily spend two more nights there on request. Would recommend this to anyone.

Excellent place to stay. Over the bakery which was convenient for breakfast. A little noisy on the main road but really didn’t affect sleep. Walkable to the beach and restaurants, The hanging chair was missing from the balcony but the host replaced it during our time. Tom was very responsive and helpful. They held our bags early and after checkout.

We kicked off our honeymoon in Costa Rica at Axel's place for 4-nights. When we arrived, it was the evening so it was dark out. The following morning we were totally blown away by the beauty of this lovely farm! Gorgeous green trees, flowers, monsteras, & mountains are surrounding you. The view is spectacular (even when it is raining or cloudy). The house has hammocks to relax in, a kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a delicious meal, a very comfy bed, and views to die for! Toucan-spotting over coffee in the morning was a highlight. Axel was not only a great host but a lovely person to chat with! If you are looking for a more remote Costa Rican experience, this is the place for you. Highly recommend and are definitely planning to come back to this wonderful place! Thanks again Axel!!

This place is absolutely incredible. My wife and I went for a long weekend for our 2nd anniversary and this bnb was the perfect location for just that. It’s secluded, peaceful, and the open air kitchen brings a fun jungle vibe to your stay. My favorite part of the house was the terrace and that beautiful view that comes with. AC in the bedrooms kept us nice and cool at night. And from reading other reviews I was a little worried about the drive up, but it’s not that bad get a 4X4 vehicle and send it! Big shout out to Loren for meeting us later than expected when we first arrived, that guy is a legend! The only recommendation I have is to stay as long as you possibly can!!!!

The gardens were a wonderfully peaceful respite. It was like taking a vacation while on vacation. The room was great, as described, and even had a dehumidifier available. The property is away from the city (we were able to Uber in and out of the city without too much issue - just a delay in finding a driver one night. We loved exploring and having our morning coffee in the gardens. We didn’t meet Phil, and we weren’t able to get a gate opener for our stay, but it worked out OK with two of us (one to drive the car and the other to get out and operate the gate).

If you are like me, always looking for views and sunsets don’t think twice! This comfortable little mountain home has by far the best views we have found so far in Monteverde. We usually head out at sunset time looking for a good spot but this stay we spent every evening watching the spectacular and ever changing panorama from our own front porch. Super comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Would like to add Waze will get you to the lower gate (search Casa del sol, Unnamed road). Just continue on the unpaved road and you will get there! Village is called Altos de Cebadilla.

The place was immaculately clean, well equipped and exactly as shown in the photos. The location was excellent, quiet and safe, ideal for resting and at the same time close to everything you need. The host was very friendly and attentive from the first moment, always available to answer any questions. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and carefree experience. Thank you for everything!

You won't want to leave the spacious villa. The garden is full of plants and is frequently visited by wildlife. Katrin is super helpful. She surprised us with a fresh soursop when we couldn't find any in the store.

We had an unforgettable stay at Gretel's place. We saw 3 types of monkeys, macaws, tucans and squirrels and iguanas, all while hanging out at the pool or on the terrace. Communication was great, Gretel checked in several times to see if everything was good. The house offers everything you could need - we cooked at the property several times and were able to use a fully stocked kitchen. Our kids especially enjoyed the pool which is very toddler friendly. The location can't be beat - you're close to both Quepos and Manuel Antonio with endless activities, restaurants etc. We really felt like we were immersed in nature and could not have wished for a better place to spend our vacation in Costa Rica.

We had such a lovely time staying at Casa De Celeste. The property was absolutely gorgeous and in close proximity to town and adventures. It was the perfect getaway before our wedding. The caretaker Vincente was so kind and very helpful. He truly made the place feel like home. We will return and are looking forward to that day. I highly recommend this property.

This was the absolute perfect home base to explore this part of Costa Rica. The house was stunning, exactly like photos and descriptions. Pool area was an unbeatable oasis and we did get lots of monkey visits! Comfortable beds, amazing bathrooms with great water temp and pressure, stocked kitchen and awesome patio space for meals and hangouts. Corner store literally at the end of our driveway was so convenient. Laura the concierge was amazing, so responsive, helpful friendly! I couldn’t be happier with the experience and will be recommending Matthew’s place to anyone I know visiting the area. I would absolutely stay here again and hope I’m able to return soon!

Everything was perfect! The location and the house all met our expectations. Danny & the team were always kind and approachable. When we found that wasps were building a nest at the house, the team was there within an hour and the issue was resolved immediately. The pool was clean and in the best condition. We had the best vacation and would be happy to come back!

Great place to stay!!! As a first time international solo traveler, I felt extremely safe and comfortable. I arrived at almost midnight, and Mel (on site concierge) was waiting to ensure I made it. I saw an agouti, monkeys, and a coati all on property. I even spent time with Mellow (the cat 😻). Host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout my entire experience. Shops and food within walking distance and parking for your car. Would highly recommend and hopefully will be returning in the future!! Pura Vida!! ☀️
