Andrea was an exceptional host, very helpful and responsive. The place was more beautiful than the photos and the attention to detail inside was very nice. I highly recommend a stay here for a very peaceful, restful, and for the amazing views and experience.

My friend and I really appreciated Ana Maria's hospitality and her family's gorgeous home. We loved the special personal touches including the jungle of house plants and well-stocked library with board games and books. Having the fireplace stocked with wood made it possible to have the perfect ambiance for reading in front of the fire on a misty afternoon! We found it helpful to have earplugs at night, as the home is close to a transit road, and earplugs did the trick to help us sleep soundly.

Fantastic view and a really nice property. We didn’t get to see much of the surroundings due to unfortunate weather, but we enjoyed the house a lot. The area is beautiful, even on a rainy day, and the house is very close to the poas volcano, yet far enough away that you are not surrounded by tourists.

Robert was a wonderful host and the house was incredible. We had an awesome stay and will definitely stay with him again when we visit the area. Everything was very clean and worked perfectly. The WiFi was great. The jacuzzi was beautiful. The landscaping was immaculate.

Truly a Jungle Paradise 45 minutes outside of San Jose. My husband and I needed a place to recover from dental surgery and Shirley’s place was the perfect sanctuary. We were given a big Tico welcome upon arrival and felt right at home throughout the entire visit. The first morning we arrived Evereth the caretaker of the land took me on a morning jaunt down to the magical waterfall than runs through the property. The home is perfectly situated centrally between San Jose and Puntarenas making it a great spot to either relax and enjoy the quiet or to explore various regions in Costa Rica! The living room opening to the sound and views of the jungle every morning made for the perfect opportunity to reflect and connect to nature every morning without leaving the front door. We saw so many gorgeous butterflies and giant birds soaring along with a toucan! The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the bathroom shower had nice hot water. Truly a healing paradise!

We stayed for two weeks and felt sad to leave. Yuliana and her parents were great hosts, always responsive and helpful, recommending places to eat and visit and the occasional gift. Throw into that their dogs who asked for little more than a belly rub for their friendship. The cottage itself was as described. Large screened windows kept the place aired and let the sounds of nature flood in. The lack of aircon meant it was often hot especially upstairs and in the afternoon but what you get in return is a deeper connection to your surroundings. This included visits from capuchin and howler monkeys, birds, bats, toads and countless butterflies, and a diverse range of insects. The screens are pretty good at keeping the latter outside, and you can close the windows. Wi-Fi is decent and other amenities as described. With the heat we didn’t cook much but the option was there. We’d 100% return for the hospitality, the closeness to nature and the dogs.

Thanks so much for having us! We thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and the location was perfect for our short weekend getaway with friends.

The little blue house is exactly what one needs. Has a working kitchen, quiet, and best of all the beach is right there. It was nice to have a peaceful place to return to after busy excursions into the cities or whatever else. Felt like a home away from home. Would definitely visit again

The place is amazing, very nice! Maybe the issue of parking because there is not much space and you have to ask them to move the cars to get out! And the issue with the location that's in the description lost us! But from there on, everything was excellent

Our stay at this enchanting mountain retreat was absolutely magical! Photos can’t capture the vibrant garden, colorful flowers, or the twinkling Central Valley lights at night. Nestled high in the mountains, we were often wrapped in soft clouds, with breathtaking sunsets and the gentle sounds of birds and nature creating a serene escape. Kattia and her wonderful family, who live in the outhouse on the property, made our 3-month stay truly unforgettable. Kattia is a treasure, managing housekeeping and cooking delicious meals with such warmth, while her husband keeps the garden pristine. Their welcoming hospitality made us feel like family—definitely hire her to elevate your stay! Just an 8-minute drive to Carrizal for groceries and 25 minutes to Alajuela, it’s a perfect hub for exploring Costa Rica’s attractions. The hosts were exceptional, fulfilling every request with kindness. We explored much of Costa Rica, but nothing matched this haven’s charm. Highly recommend!

The place is beautiful, with lots of green areas and a beautiful garden. The house is beautiful and very spacious, ideal for six people. It is super well located, just a few minutes from downtown Nicoya. Katia and Carlos were excellent hosts: always attentive, very friendly and answered all our questions patiently. The place has many fruit trees, which attracts a great variety of birds. If you like observation, it's perfect: we saw trogons, aracaris, titiras, motomotos and more. The pool is beautiful, as is the ranch, ideal for relaxing surrounded by nature. We will definitely be back!

The place is very nice, just as seen in the photos. The house is very nice and clean, the beds are comfortable. However, the only negative thing we have to say is that the air conditioning is a bit old and makes too much noise at night to the point that you couldn't sleep because it rattled all the windows and sprayed a stream of water outside the house... but otherwise the house is very nice and the stay is worth it. Thank you very much for your attention to Mr. Gonzalo, always attentive!

We really enjoyed our stay. Sometimes pictures make a place look a lot nicer than it is, but in this situation the place is even more beautiful in person. There is plenty of space especially for its size, a well stocked kitchenette, and great shelving and storage. We initially got a little confused trying to find the location with our apps, but Aurora’s very detailed message with photos got us where we needed to be. We really appreciated her proactive and thorough communication. This is somewhere we would have been happy in on an extended stay. It’s not far from Santa Elana but is removed enough to be peaceful, and the back deck and beautiful window wall with string lights was a beautiful and ambient touch. This is sincerely the best bang for buck place we have ever stayed in and highly recommend it!

I stayed at Casa Ara over summer break (June 8–15), and it was exactly the peaceful getaway I needed. The house is nestled among lush greenery and flowers, with a treehouse feel that lets you spot monkeys, butterflies, and birds right from the hammock on the porch. It’s clean, comfortable, and fully equipped—from a well-stocked kitchen to strong water pressure in both indoor and outdoor showers (not always a given in this region!). The beds were cozy, and the space felt like home. Playa Negra is just a 10-minute walk away and feels private, shaded by palm trees. Casa Ara even provides chairs and mats for beach days. You’re also close to town, restaurants, the large Super Negro supermarket, and local pulperías. Cahuita National Park is nearby—perfect for a self-guided or guided nature walk, with beaches and wildlife all in one spot. Just check their website for what to bring (some items are restricted). This place gave me the reset I didn’t know I needed—calm, beauty, and comfort

Our place reminded us of Swiss Family Robinson, up near the treetops, which occasionally had howler monkeys swinging by. It was magical. We did the snorkeling and bio luminescent tours which were both exceptional. We learned a lot and had fun! We also rented a kayak and went to Isla Cedros. Vigdis and Thomas were always available if we had a question, and fun to chat with. The beach is private and I loved going down there in the morning to watch the occasional birds fishing in the pristine water.

My family and I were very satisfied, Casa Meraki is really beautiful and we hope to be back soon!

Diane was an A+++ host! Super friendly and accommodating. She helped me with requests beyond her responsibility and was extremely friendly and accommodating. Loved the privacy and feeling of being immersed in the culture and vibe of the area. Excellent accommodations at super value in prices. Would stay there again for future trips!

We loved our stay here- the views of the ocean were magical. The pool was fantastic and the host was very responsive and kind. Check in was very smooth and they were very flexible with our arrival time! A HUGE bowl of fresh fruit along with eggs/produce in the fridge and a box of chocolates were waiting to welcome us as well. It was a fantastic stay with so many different nooks for sitting outdoors and enjoying the area. I would highly recommend this Airbnb and its hosts.
