Family-friendly vacation rentals in Portsmouth

We had a lovely short break and it was just what we wanted. The accommodation is well equipped with a lovely view of a garden and horses in a field. There are lots of really nice touches like breakfast ingredients and homemade jams available to use. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area

Honeysuckle Cottage is on the main road through East Meon but once inside it is quiet. All the furnishing and equipment are good quality and although the cottage is small, there is plenty of storage and it has everyone needed for a relaxing weekend. As others have said the second bedroom is very small but our son and his girlfriend slept comfortably and had enough space for their clothes. The garden is secure, so perfect for our dog. It’s also a sun trap so we were able to enjoy relaxing outside even though it wasn’t particularly hot weather. There are many excellent walks on the doorstep with stunning views. We were able to eat at The George on a couple of evenings and didn’t use our cars all weekend, which was just perfect. We did not park our cars on the main road but there’re plenty of places to park in the village, including the car park.

lovely, clean cosy studio that was surprisingly spacious. Lots of little extras that were really appreciated. Good base for exploring the island.

Nice tiny Airbnb near the beach with a cosy little garden. It was very nice that we were allowed to bring our dog! The only thing we would've loved to know before is, that there are a lot of cats in the garden at night. There's a motion sensor for the light in the garden and it's constantly turning on and off due to the cats. So we probably wouldn't recommend this Airbnb to people with the same "problem". Besides that, we had a nice, relaxed stay in the shed, with awesome weather and nice walks at the beach! The breakfast provided by Annie was a very kind gesture!

We had a fantastic stay! Liz is a fabulous host and made us feel so welcome! The property is lovely, exactly as described and a really great location for visiting the new forest. Would definitely recommend!

Bunty cottage was idyllic accommodation in a charming area. The accommodation itself was charming and "olde worlde" Catherine was very responsive and helpful with all our enquiries. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Claire’s ‘cowshed’ air bnb. The space is beautiful and clean. It was full of lovely additions and she really has thought of everything we may need. claire and her partner were welcoming and friendly and we felt right at home. Claire was very helpful with recommendations and took time out of her day to provide us with taxi numbers. Although we were in town for a wedding, the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and perfect for a quiet weekend away. We will definitely come back

I can honestly say that this Airbnb is the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Extremely tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. We absolutely aim to be back to enjoy the private garden, the very comfy beds and great location. Andrew’s communication is excellent, and he was very helpful and accommodating with our check-in. We had such a wonderful stay at the cabin, in a beautiful peaceful location with lovely forests near by. It was fully equipped with everything we needed, very cosy with a comfy bed and an amazing shower. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was a great place to stay. Jade was a wonderful host. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. Jade was very accommodating and was quick to respond to requests. If I am ever in Southampton again I would definitely stay here.

A lovely little cottage to stay in for some peace and quiet. The perfect distance from Winchester where you can appreciate both the City and the countryside. The walks around the town were gorgeous and the house had everything we needed. It was so clean and was beautifully decorated. Could not recommend enough. So good for the price!!!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Marmalade Cottage, Julie and Colin were perfect hosts very helpful and welcoming and the cake, wine and milk were much appreciated. The cottage is beautiful, clean and very well equipped we had everything we needed. We are a retired couple and it was perfect for us, a lovely pub and vineyard within walking distance and we made good use of the BBQ. The outside decking area offers fantastic views and we used it most evenings the garden areas are beautiful. The location is great for exploring the Isle of Wight either by car or walking, there are many local well signposted footpaths. We have recommended it to our extended family as it would be perfect for a young family, the garden is safe and child friendly and there are so many toys we wished we had our grandchildren with us. Our only regret is that we didn’t book for two weeks.

This is the second time I have booked this accommodation for colleagues working in the area. The accommodation is excellent providing all the home comforts required when working away from home. All communication with Katie is was excellent and if we're ever back in the area again I will definitely re book with Katie

Great location for a family break. Entertainment passes included. Kids will love the robots delivering food in the restaurant. Didnt try out the pool this time but looked great. Loved how close we were to the beach beautiful day and night, with stunning sunsets. Also enjoyed a walk around the nature reserve. Great base for getting out on our bikes. We absolutely love the new forest and this was a great base for a short stay. We'd happily stay for longer.

We had such a lovely stay at Linda’s place! Even before the trip, communication was super quick, friendly, and accommodating. Linda went out of her way to answer all our questions and offer tips for the area—and kindly offered us an early check-in, which was really appreciated. The welcome goodies (and the cute stickers for the boys!) were such a thoughtful touch. The bungalow itself was perfect for our trip—comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We even met Linda’s partner Keith on the way out, who was just as lovely—really friendly and chatty. Thank you, Linda, for a wonderful stay. Would absolutely recommend!

If you are looking for a home from home or an upgrade from home, this is the place to stay. Arrived from Melbourne and immediately settled into the joy of living in the countryside. Although too cold to enjoy the pool, we did use the tennis court and shot some hoops. We walked to Old Thorns Golf and Country Club and can recommend Katie's Coffee bar. It's an easy walk amongst stunning scenery. We walked back via the Foley Estate from the Deers Hut pub. Liphook is so lucky to have not one but two stunningly beautiful golf courses. If their is a heaven on earth, we must have stayed in its guest house!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Stables. The cottage was immaculately clean and well presented with a welcoming vase of fresh flowers on the kitchen table and some milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The pool was amazing, so relaxing, our daughter loved it. Lots of local walks from our doorstep that our dog loved with a very friendly cafe/ shop in the next village. The online guide with a map and list of different places to eat and visit was very useful and having it on my phone meant it was easy to refer to.

Catharine was an amazing host and Driftwood is absolutely beautiful in a perfect setting for our group get together. The hosts were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help, even accommodating an earlier check in for us. Could not recommend this stunning home enough!

Such a find - we absolutely loved this airbnb! Firstly the design was amazing, looks like beach huts and yet the inside was so spacious and filled with light that it was like a hidden gem. Amazing amenities - pool, tennis court and beautiful walks on the doorstep. The area was so lovely and quiet and I could immediately feel myself relaxing the moment we arrived. The property has everything that you could possibly need, a little home away from home and I loved all the little design touches - you could really tell that so much care had been taken to make the space welcoming. Everything was super clean and Helen was a lovely host, always responsive and friendly! I absolutely loved the digital guidebook which was so useful for our stay, especially finding the best pubs and restaurants in the area. We hope to be back soon!
