Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Otsu

I had such a great stay at this place in Kyoto! The house was super clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. The facilities were all in great shape and easy to use. The host was really friendly and kind — they made me feel very welcome. Overall, it was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto!

Without exaggeration, I can say that this was my most wonderful AirBnB experience as a family so far. We jumped into the lake every morning, enjoyed the view towards mountains and savoured our breakfast in rural silence. We are travelling without a car and were able to reach the house very easily from the train station, even though we have a lot of luggage. For our 1.5 year old daughter, this was paradise. She enjoyed saying hello to the chickens, splashing in the lake or playing on the beach. Chie and Iain provided the perfect family friendly environment: a high chair, children's books and children's cutlery - nothing was missing. They gave us additional recommendations for activities with a child. All in all a 10 out of 10.

Best Airbnb we have stayed in by far! Not your typical Airbnb. Christian and his wife take care of you like a family guest. They drive you places, help you plan your stay, cool breakfast, share their sake, and makes reservations plus more! They are so friendly and nice! The house is gorgeous! Just as pictured. Modern bathrooms with old Japanese feel throughout. We did the soba and the pottery - loved both! Thank you for all!

Japonyaya gelirken hayallerimizden biri geleneksel bir Japon evinde kalmak ve yemyeşil doğada vakit geçirmekti. Tokyoda 3 gün kaldıktan sonra Atsushinin evine geçtik. Ulaşım konusundaki sorularımıza çok hızlı yanıt verdi, istasyondan sonra evi bulmamıza çok yardımcı oldular. Ev ve Japonyanın geleneksel yaşamı hakkında bilgilendirdiler. Ev fotoğraflarda gördüğümüzden ve hayal ettiğimizden çok daha güzeldi ve tertemizdi. Her detayına büyülendik. Orda bir ömür yaşanır. Tekrar Japonyaya gelip orada kalmak için can atıyoruz. Herkesin deneyimlemesini öneririz. Atsushi ve ailesine her şey için çok teşekkür ederiz.

Secluded location up in the hills. Beautiful inside and the garden outside. My time of visit it was raining and cool so it felt more than relaxing being there. Bathrooms were well and clean, complete kitchen with full size refridge was nice. Parking available. Great overall !

Shiho’s place was located along the “coastal” road of Lake Biwa and it is very easily reachable. There is a dedicated parking slot right in front of the entrance which made it easy for us to park and travel around Otsu and Kyoto. Lovely places and the actual AirB&B was just like the listing. Otsu was a great host and gave several great recommendations!

The apartment is easily reachable by public transport. It's very easy to find as well. The host, Mr. Naoko, is a very kind person, and he is very supportive and responsive. The apartment has almost all the appliances and utilities that may be required by any guest. To summarise, it was a nice experience and a very comfortable stay.

Perfect place and location!

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à Kyoto. Le logement était conforme aux photos, propre et bien situé. L’instruction pour récupérer les clés mériterait d’être clarifiée (il était indiqué de tourner dans un sens, alors qu’il fallait faire l’inverse), mais heureusement, une personne très gentille à la réception nous a aidés. Après notre départ, j’ai pensé avoir oublié un objet dans l’appartement : l’hôte a été très réactif et m’a assisté rapidement, ce que j’ai beaucoup apprécié. Merci encore !

Affordable and sufficient, the accommodation was minimalistic but still had everything we needed during our stay. Great for shorter stays. The host replied instantly every time which was helpful.

Wir haben diese Unterkunft auf unserer Reise geliebt! Es war makellos sauber und sogar schöner als auf den Fotos. Wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt und wären am liebsten länger geblieben. Die Kommunikation mit Aika über den Chat war schnell und freundlich und sie hat uns auf Anfrage sogar hilfreiche Tipps für die Gegend gegeben. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt! :)

Tatsuya was a great host and even gave us a ride to and from the station.

We had a great time at this apartment! This was the perfect place to stay in Kyoto. there is a ton to do in the immediate area around the neighborhood and May was an amazing host!

The place is very clean, neat and tidy. Has really good quality amenities including an espresso machine, a dryer room. It's very easy to find as it appears on the map directly when you put House Nozomi Hayashi San is very responsive and looked into one of our concerns immediately. It's near a bus stop with multiple buses going into the town. Katsuragawa station is about 1.5 KM, so bit of a walk when you have luggage or are tired. But we got cabs fairly easily. Do your research on places you want to travel to in Kyoto so you can see if the location works for you. In terms of convenience, lots of shops, supermarkets etc are available. It feels spacious. It would have been better to have access to the wardrobe, but we had a short stay so we did not mind living out of our suitcases. Overall good place, good amenities, location is good but that's subjective. Good, professional host.

Great value for a quiet stay in a traditional neighborhood just off the subway line. Easy access to rest of city. Apartment was spacious and provided a traditional Japanese living experience. Would stay again.

Wir durften in diesem Hotel 4 tolle Tage verbringen und das Zimmer verfügte über alle nötigen und angegebenen Annehmlichkeiten. Es war sehr sauber und wir haben die Möglichkeit bekommen unser Gepäck vor dem Check-In flexibel abzustellen. Das Gebäude ist leider etwas hellhörig, weshalb man sich Ohrenstöpsel mitnehmen sollte, falls man mal komplett in Ruhe ausschlafen will. Uns hat es jedoch nicht großartig gestört. Das beste an dem Hostel ist wahrscheinlich die Lage. Die Metro Station ist 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt und die Namba Station ist knapp unter 10 Minuten mit der Metro erreichbar. Dotonbori ist eine Stunde zu Fuß entfernt, weshalb man sich nicht zwingend ein Taxi nehmen muss, falls man den letzten Zug verpasst. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden gerne irgendwann wieder kommen.

This apartment is spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location is excellent, as other reviewers have mentioned. A couple of points to note, which are not clear in the listing. There are two beds in one bedroom and no bed in the other bedroom area. Consequently, getting in and out of bed can be a bit awkward. Also, the TV only has Japanese programs. I'd recommend this apartment to any couple visiting Kobe for a few days.
