Close to Tobu Shim-Imaichi Station, you might even hear the steam whistle of the Taiki if you're lucky in the evening. 8-tatami Japanese-style room (bamboo room), 6-tatami Japanese-style room (temple style), 8-tatami living room (retro style) IH kitchen, microwave, toaster, rice cooker, fridge, washing machine, gas dryer, etc. are fully equipped, so you can use this place as a base for sightseeing in Nikko, Kinugawa, Ashio, and Kuriyama. There is also a parking lot, making it ideal for touring with fellow bikers. Breakfast is a free loaf of freshly baked bread (home bakery). Mountain Biking, Calligraphy, Games, BBQ (The usage fee for charcoal is 2,000 yen per use. Dishes are available for rent, so please prepare your ingredients at a nearby supermarket.) It is a Japanese house surrounded by lush greenery. The space available for rent is 120 ㎡ (about 70 tatami mats). 7 minutes by car from the Kan-etsu Expressway, Hanazono Interchange. Free parking for 4 cars is available. It is a 9-minute walk from Hachioji Station on the Tobu Tojo Line. Since it is a private rental, we can only allow 1-2 people to stay for up to 7 consecutive nights. Long-term stays are possible for 3 or more people. Please use it for sightseeing such as Nagatoro, Chichibu, and Ikuno, or for work. You will have the entire first floor of a rural house to yourselves.

Welcome to Richard Flavin's Washi House! Richard Flavin (1943–2020) was a Japanese paper artist originally from the US. He studied design in Boston and came to Japan in 1970. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.
