We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage, which is ideally situated for exploring Dartmoor. The cottage had all the amenities you could need. We would strongly recommend it and we definitely want to stay here again.
A wooden shelving unit holds a variety of kitchen and decorative items. The top shelves display wooden containers, a cream-colored vase, and a small wicker basket. The lower shelves hold white bowls and a rustic mortar and pestle. A photograph of a plant adds a touch of nature.

If you have a chance to stay here, do! I can’t say enough good things about this enchanted cottage and garden and the hosts. I stayed two weeks, have been gone one day and miss it already. Pat and Dave were excellent hosts, checked on me without being intrusive, and even gave me a ride to town on the last day to catch my bus. I worked remotely weekdays. The Internet was slower than I’m used to, but perfectly serviceable. I was able to take video calls and get things done. I didn’t have a car, but enjoyed picturesque walks. It was lush and green with a large stream adjacent to the garden. There are two pubs close by, one requires walking through lovely field paths but I wouldn’t want to walk at night alone. I’m sure it’s perfectly safe, just dark! There is a little grocery about a 10 minute walk, but it is up a steep hill. Doesn’t matter, it was just magical.

Couples retreat on Dartmoor with stunning views

Cloudstreet is wonderful. From the road, the house is unassuming but as soon as you step inside you realise what a special place it is. Inside is beautiful - spacious, light, comfortable and with beautiful views down into the garden and across the valley. It is clear a lot of love and attention has gone in over the years to developing cloud street as a haven of peace and tranquility. The location is very quiet - I think we heard cars go by 4-5 times in the three days we were there. The bird song is incredible. The house is really well equipped - probably the best we have come across - and it was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend m!

Caravan clean and comfortable. Nice to have personal bits and pieces around, made it homely. The site was peaceful, quiet, and well maintained. Karen’s instructions had said I would need to make up the bed, but on arrival it was all done which was lovely. Was a good base from which to attend my Goddaughters wedding and visit other friends in the area.

A warm welcome from Maureen and Brian made us feel right at home in this immaculate and well-equipped flat. Perfect for walking and a lovely pub just down the road. This was our second stay here and we hope to return.

Just got back from the most peaceful weekend at the Secret Stables / Shepherd’s Hut — what an incredible hidden gem! The location was stunning, so quiet and relaxing, and the hut itself was cosy, beautifully styled, and unbelievably comfortable (the bed was a solid 10/10!). We were lucky to visit while the Secret Stable pizza restaurant was open — a huge thank you to Grace for fitting us in last minute. The food was amazing, and we can’t recommend it enough. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely and cosy with everything you need. The views are stunning, what a gorgeous place to call home! This stay was brief but we would to come again and explore more. Thank you so much for a great overnight 😊

the barn was renovated to a very high standard in decor, furnishings, and equipment. It was extremely comfortable, nice and warm lovely big comfortable bed. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Teething problems with oven quickly rectified. Lots of information on area provided and on the moor in a few minutes walk.
