Family-friendly vacation rentals in Nicoya Peninsula

We absolutely loved this place. It is well maintained and has everything you need. It feels like home. The woodwork in the house is so beautiful. The property is gorgeous and has trails to explore. Carolina and Manuel arranged to get some specially requested food for our stay. They had the food there for our arrival which was so helpful. Manuel took us on an awesome night hike. Carolina’s husband also gave us a tour of the property too. Carolina and her family really go out of their way to make this a welcoming place. They grow amazing coffee on the property which we really enjoyed. They also shared their garden veggies and the bananas. We stayed 4 days and wished we had stayed longer. We found it easy to go into Monteverde for activities like coffee tours, cloud forest, animal sanctuary el Tigre waterfall, etc. There are some great restaurants close by the house and of course in monteverde too. We enjoyed ordering homemade empanadas from cafe Horizonte for breakfast.

El departamento es privado con una gran cocina y sala de estar, también cuenta con dos habitaciones, cada una con una cama king muy cómoda y perfecta para descansar. Se sintió como estar en casa lo que más nos gustó fue la zona de la piscina y el jacuzzi privados, es un lugar perfecto para descansar y relajarse cerca de todas las atracciones de la zona al igual que muy buenos restaurantes lo recomiendo a cualquiera que visite la zona de la Fortuna

Great location, our only wish is that the property would have an elevator. Everything about this condo was exactly as listed, great private beach to anyone that finds this place.

Hands down the best place to stay in La Fortuna. David was very responsive and got me checked in right when I arrived. The cabin is GORGEOUS. It feels like it’s in the middle of the rain forest. The inside of the cabin was the cleanest Airbnb I may have ever stayed at. Truly spotless and didn’t have bugs which I have found to be impossible in Costa Rica. The bed was so comfortable and the view from the kitchen made me so happy in the morning. It even has a little patio area underneath the cabin. Wish I could have stayed longer!! I’d recommend staying here over staying at a fancy hotel. You feel immersed in Costa Rican nature while still feeling very comfortable. Honestly this place felt like a nice hotel but way better. It’s worth it.

Words truly can't capture how incredible this property is! We've stayed in many Airbnbs across different locations, but nothing has come close to this experience. The home and grounds are absolutely stunning—but it was the location and our amazing hosts, David and Josie, that made this stay unforgettable. We arrived at the start of rainy season, but it didn’t dampen our stay at all—thoughtful touches like covered walkways and outdoor spaces made it easy to enjoy everything, rain or shine. From the abundant wildlife to the peaceful seclusion, and the wealth of local knowledge they shared, every moment was exceptional! This place is a gem!

This air bnb is the gold standard of cleaniness. I was so happy with my stay, the quaint room was in pristine shape. It felt like I was staying at a 4 star hotel but in an apartment. The location was ideal because it was a 5 minute walk to the town sqaure. The hosts provide you with all the information and more in regards to how to check in and use all ammenities. Air condition and heated water worked well. The kitchen ammenities were clean and abundant. Thank you for the stay!

Wir ( Familie mit 2 Kindern , 6 & 3 Jahre alt) fühlten uns sehr wohl auf der Fidelito Ranche. Die Kinder genossen es im Garten zu spielen, die Hunde zu füttern und zu duschen, sowie den tollen Reitausflug mit Leon. Wir haben die ruhige Lage sehr geschätzt, konnten aber auch schnell in die grösseren Städte gelangen.

If you are like me, always looking for views and sunsets don’t think twice! This comfortable little mountain home has by far the best views we have found so far in Monteverde. We usually head out at sunset time looking for a good spot but this stay we spent every evening watching the spectacular and ever changing panorama from our own front porch. Super comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Would like to add Waze will get you to the lower gate (search Casa del sol, Unnamed road). Just continue on the unpaved road and you will get there! Village is called Altos de Cebadilla.

From the moment we booked Vanessa was very responsive & knowledgeable. She was able to provide all the insight we needed to make our trip a memorable one. She went out of her way to make sure she was there when we checked in which was really nice & caring. She checked in with us via chat during our stay to make sure everything was going smooth. The view & villa were spectacular and all we needed as a couple to be able to rest & relax. If your a big beach person def recommend checking out Playa Cochal, a short commute from the villa. Awesome facility! It was exactly as described. Very quiet. very private, and very safe. The pool is definitely what stood out the most. It was very relaxing. Norwin thought of everything! He was very helpful. We saw a lot of hummingbirds. The bedroom was ample size with plenty of storage. We enjoyed our stay there immensely and look forward to returning.

Our stay was very easily accessible and had a nice open floor plan! The views of the sunset and the water made it a perfect vacation location!

Awesome property with a spectacular view. Photos don’t do it justice. Preston was a great host who was very responsive and offered great insight to the area. We will definitely return again. The house and grounds exceeded everyone’s expectations. The villa is very large with plenty of room for 7 adults.

Edgar is by far the friendliest host we've ever dealt with. He's the very definition of hands on, responsive and helpful. He instantly dealt with any request, and bend over backwards to ensure we had a 5 Star experience at his beautiful beach home. His recommendations for local restaurants, experiences, and destinations were equally as helpful and appreciated. The house is every bit as gorgeous as the pictures, and the indoor/outdoor lifestyle was clearly explained in the description and during follow up messages with Edgar. As long as you fully understand the living space is open to the elements, you'll not be disappointed. Lastly, when my family was returning from a day trip to Monteverde Cloud Forest, we got caught up in a major road closure. It was a multi-hour delay that was a bit stressful given the very young children in our family group. Edgar spent much of his personal time attempting to help us find an alternative route home. Can't say enough about our wonderful stay!

This house has an amazing setting. Just out of town on a hill with views over the rain forest. There is a great pool with an undercover outdoor seating area and a wonderful garden to watch the wildlife in. We spent one night sat outside after all the birds had gone to bed and watched a storm with lightning for about 3 hours. Fantastic 😁

We had an amazing time at this property! The house was incredible. The views were absolutely breathtaking and made every morning feel special. One of the most memorable moments was when a toucan came to visit us right on the property. We were lucky enough to snap some photos. Hopefully I can upload them here somehow. Everything about the stay exceeded our expectations. Ana was very responsive and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. if you are looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended and would love to come back.

It was our second stay at Villa St. Barth, and we hope it will not be the last one. We enjoy this privacy oasis very close to the touristy areas of the Tamarindo Coast. The property is secluded; you neither see nor feel any neighbours, yet it is just a few hundred meters away from a very nice fish restaurant. The house is squeaky clean and very comfortable to live in. The property's focal point is a pool suitable for lap swimming. We spend hours in the pool daily, looking for a busy bird life and occasional squirrels or monkeys.

Casa Samara was described as family friendly, and it sure was! The kids *loved* the pool and we could walk right out the front gate to the beach. It was about a 25 minute walk (with kids) to downtown Samara. The hosts were so responsive when we extended our stay and needed some clean sheets. All of the rooms had fans and all of the beds had bug nets. 💜

Yonatan’s home and hospitality is the best experience I have ever had on AirBnb—the house is stunning, Yonatan’s communication was beyond excellent. He set up cabs for us, gave amazing restaurant recommendations, had a private link to set up excursions with Local Bird, a great delivery service to get groceries (SippDelivery) and had beer and wine and treats from the AMAZING local bakery waiting for us upon arrival. The beds are soooo comfortable and laundered to perfection by the housekeeper, Deyling, who comes every day. We brought my parents as a gift and it was a gift to us all that we chose Villa Kaleo. The pool is great, the view is gorgeous. We saw white face monkeys, iguanas, heard howler monkeys—all around the house. Highly recommend horseback riding with Oscar as well. GO!

This home is a great location walkable to Nosara restaurants and shops. Worth noting, although the listing pictures a golf cart there is not actually a golf cart for use. We walked to nearly everything but a few dinners farther away required a passenger van pick up. Ola Coffee was a 12 minute walk, but Rolling Waves Coffee was closer and preferred. The walking was good for us. Wen also walked to the beach from here. In CR, I have learned that you have to get used to living with bugs so the ants are plentiful inside and the mosquitos are intense outside by the pool... bring lots of spray if it is rainy season like our trip. Max was incredibly helpful to us with assisting us with adventure plans, lining up transportation when we needed it, and recommending dinners - He is amazing Overall this was a beautiful stay, with wonderful aesthetics throughout the home with wood vaulted ceilings and beautiful bedrooms. It is a fabulous home Sharon and Garry.

Great space and amazing location close to everything in town and short walk to the beach. Internet was fast and nice outdoor space to get remote work done. Judit was quick to respond to our questions and checked in throughout the stay to make sure everything was good. Only regret is that we didn’t book the place for longer. Highly recommend!

Mi estadía fue muy cómoda, la casa es hermosa y queda cerca de la playa. La pasamos muy bien y disfrutamos mucho alojándonos en ella.

Excelente atención y servicio, Val fue muy amable, la comunicación vía whats fue fluida y correcta, entendió nuestras necesidades para tener una gran experiencia no solo en la casa si no que también en las actividades turísticas, definitivamente si volvemos a CR buscaríamos a Val and Oscar. 100% recomendado.
