Surridge Cottage - Peaceful retreat

HannahRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Surridge Cottage is beautiful, as soon as we arrived down the lane we knew it would be perfect and it was and more. The cottage has been beautifully restored with high end finishes. Even the heated floor in the bathroom didn't go missed (my daughter loved it). Great location, we took a few trips out. Went into Lyme Regis and took the children to Crealy. If you want a private country break in a cottage, you won't beat it. Thank you, The Mellors x

A luxury cottage at Glen Silva Farm

AbigailRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Had a wonderful stay at Silva Cottage. The cottage was beautiful and had everything a person could need and very clean. The location was amazing set in woods and so so quiet apart from the birds which were a delight to see and hear especially watching the comings and going’s of Woodpeckers on the bird feeder. The hot tub was spectacular.Set in the woods nothing could compare to sitting back and enjoying the tub with a glass of fizz. We had a great recommendation from Lorraine for an Indian Takeaway which delivered to the cottage and ate a great lunch at The Tamar Inn at Calstock. Great location for walkers with Dartmoor on one side and Bodmin Moor on the other plus the coastal path. Would highly recommend this property and would love to return.

Honeysuckle Cottage with optional hot tub

AngelaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage. Spotlessly clean and bright. Very well equipped modern kitchen. Comfortable lounge and bedrooms and a sunny conservatory for dining in. Our host Helen welcomed us and a gorgeous cream tea awaited us, together with homemade scones, jam and bread. Milk, butter and eggs also provided. Such attention to detail. The garden is pretty and dog safe. Helen even provided dog bowls and towels and a treat! We would highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

200 year old character cottage close to beach

MarkRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We have just returned from a long weekend in North Devon and a stay at Carpenters Cottage, the cottage itself is beautiful, quaint and quirky, we loved it! The roll top bath was fabulous for a long relaxing soak after lots of exploring. The outside space was perfect for us, just a nice space to sit and enjoy a drink of an evening. The log burner, whilst we didn’t use it, had everything you would need to be super cosy. Our host Jon, was spot on with directions etc and recommendations and super helpful going above and beyond with requests I made prior to arrival, thank you 🙏🏻. We would have no problems in recommending Jon and Carpenters Cottage 😊

Barn in Spectacular, Tranquil Gardens and Farmland

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a wonderful 3 weeks at the barn and were very sad to leave! As soon as we arrived, I felt myself relax. The gardens and farmland were beautiful and so peaceful, and the barn itself was thoughtfully considered, spotlessly clean, spacious and very well furnished. We had a lot of fun exploring around the farm with our 3 year old - playing down by the river and rowing the boat on one of the small lakes. It was amazing to have this on our doorstep! We visited a lot of places during our stay but my favourite was probably Boscastle - we enjoyed walking through the village through the valley to the cliffs and watching the blowhole in action. We loved the Boscastle Farm Shop & Cafe too - we sat outside enjoying the wonderful views while we ate delicious food and our little one had fun in the play area. Liz and Robert were the best hosts - we really enjoyed chatting with them and they were super responsive when we needed anything. I really hope we can return to stay again one day!

Grade II Listed Converted Barn

MalcolmRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Beautiful warm cozy converted barn in a remote village in North Devon between Bideford, Bude and Launceston. Road access is single track for 1.5 miles approx which gets a bit muddy in the winter but it's perfect if you want a peaceful location with lovely sunrise views and friendly curious chickens! We visited Hartland, Bude, Boscastle and Crackington Haven were all fairly easy to get to.

we had a lovely five night stay. we arrived slightly early and Kris and Pete were very accommodating for us. We were welcomed on arrival and we were left some lovely scones and milk. The barn is in a very peaceful location and the private garden area was a bonus. The Barn was very clean, spacious and we felt right at home. All bedrooms had a separate bathroom which was ideal for the family. The area of the barn was great and we visited some lovely places and restaurants. There was lots of information, recommendations shared with us. There was also the added bonus of a football table which the kids enjoyed playing and there was plenty of books and DVDs. Kris and Pete have really thought of everything with the accomodation. Although the stay went very fast we all had a lovely relaxing time and would love to visit again. thank you

Traditional Devon cottage, ideal rural escape

PaulRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Just back from a 4 day break at Bridge Cottage. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break. When in the property, we spent most of our time in the sun room. So peaceful. So many birds to view, attracted by the well positioned feeder. Comfortable king bed - so quiet overnight. Such an idyllic location. Pub in Sheepwash is a short walk up the hill, but plenty of parking right outside if you prefer to drive. Decent menu at reasonable price. Highlights of our short stay were a visit to Boscastle where we were advised by one of the locals, while gabbing a coffee, to pop along to Trebarwith Strand beach. The Port William pub there is one of the best locations for a pub lunch, overlooking the bay) Sandymouth Bay to Bude is a fabulous coastal walk. Only 2 miles each way. Be sure to grab coffee and cake at Sip & Sea at the half way point of Northcott Mouth beach. We chose to walk one way on the beach, to give our 2 Jack Russels a run, and returned via the coast path.

Quiet, cosy cottage with log burner

JoshRating, 5 stars15 months ago
Lovely cosy cottage :) Carol was very responsive and had the log burner lit prior to us checking in, so it was nice and warm when got in. We stayed in the cottage for most of our stay. All the appliances worked. It was great to have a stove and oven to cook food, as well as a cafetiere and loose leaf tea infuser. Decent size fridge for a weekend for 2 people. The TV is large and the sofa is comfy. There are board games too. Shower works well, didn't try the bath. Plenty of towels provided. Very comfy bed. It was wet during our stay, so we didn't try out the public footpaths. There's seating areas out the front of the cottage. We didn't hear the chickens too much. Also heard an owl and woodpecker during out stay :) There's a parking bay for 1 car. The Farmers Arms in Wolfardisworthy is fantastic. The local shop there is about the size of a small Co-op or Spar. Had some good local stuff in there. There's a milk vending machine at Woolsery Milk, you can buy a bottle at the farm.

What a charming and peaceful cottage - every detail was thoughtfully considered to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The welcome hamper was such a lovely touch, and finding fresh milk in the fridge was a delight. The cottage itself is spotless and well-equipped, with cozy bedding and fluffy towels that made us feel right at home. Newly refurbished pool was great and very clean. Located in a beautiful Ruby country woodland setting, it’s the perfect retreat to truly unwind for a few days. The cottage is ideally placed, not far by car from Dartmoor National Park, you can reach most of Devon within 1 -1.5 hour, some parts of Cornwall are easily accessible. Enclosed by Dartmoor, Exmoor and the north coast of Devon and Cornwall, Ruby Country is the ideal base for a relaxing visit. There is a lot to see and do.
