Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Newington

Melissa’s place is amazing. 5 stars! There are a lot of wow characters in her place. The place is huge for just the two of us. The kitchen is spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed. The room is very comfortable and warm. We did not have to use public transport at all to get to all of the tourist spots. It is close to lots of the main sight seeing spots. Very convenient. Melissa is very friendly and helpful. She is very proactively with her communication. We supposed to contact her before we arrive but I did not read the instructions. She contacted us and sorted things. We only stay 2 days in Edinburgh, which we could stay for longer! Would stay in Melissa’s place again! Highly recommend it!

What a fantastic place to stay and an excellent base for exploring Edinburgh and the borders. My family and I had an amazing time in the beautiful South Lodge. It is as listed and shown in the photos - highly recommend!

Melissa was a friendly, helpful and very responsive host. The house was exactly want we wanted and expected. The place was also spotless. The rooms were all good sizes and the bathroom was modern and had a really nice shower (with a bath for the kids) l. The location was great for our little family that wanted space in the evenings but happy to travel a bit to get into Edinburgh, we found the short drive to Kirkcaldy where we could park at the station and get a train directly into central Edinburgh worked perfectly for us. Or you could use as a base for driving to different parts of Scotland. I wish we had time to look at the local area some more as it's near a coastal path. I would definitely come again and recommend to others.

Truly spectacular view in a wonderful setting. Gorgeous property that is obviously a project that is well loved. We would welcome the opportunity to stay here again.

Charming one night stay after getting in late from the airport!

We had a fantastic stay at Green Cottage. Craig was very helpful from the start with travel tips and luggage drop off information. Craig provided very useful information for checking in and locating the cottage, everything was easy to follow. The cottage is in a lovely location, within walking distance of the Royal Botantial Gardens and the coast line. It is also near many bus routes and easy to visit all the tourist sites in Edinburgh.

We had a wonderfull stay in this almost like new house. Highly recommanded!

A great base for visiting Edinburgh. Lovely accommodation; peaceful neighbourhood and very easy transport links into the city. Can also highly recommend the Riccarton Inn, within a few minutes walk - great food and drinks selection and the Tuesday night quiz is good fun. Fiona is an excellent host - very responsive, clear communication and very proactive to make sure your stay is a good one. Would definitely stay here again.

Hands down this is one of the best Airbnbs we have ever stayed in! I cannot recommend highly enough! So many thoughtful touches throughout and a perfect location. It was clean, cozy, and had incredible views.

Great location, walking distance from Waverly Station. Vibrant but mostly quiet area with dining and entertainment options nearby. Highly recommend!

The perfect place to stay when visiting Edinburgh! Easy to walk to shops and restaurants and the castle! It should be noted that you do have to climb to flights of spiral stairs to get to the apartment. So I would not recommend booking this Airbnb if you have troubles getting up steps. Other than that I highly recommend!

Susan & Amit’s place is a hidden gem right in the middle of Grassmarket, but off the beaten path in its own quiet and private residential complex, right next to the royal mile. Susan & Amit were always responsive and even left us some breakfast sweets. Will book again if I ever find myself back in Edinburgh.

We felt right at home in Stuarts flat. It's smack dab in the middle of old town and literally a 2-3 minute walk from Waverly train station. It was a clean and modern apartment with great views out over the rooftops of the city and beyond. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was stocked full of everything we needed for our week long stay. We needed some extra towels at one point and Stuart had them delivered within the hour. Stuart left a comprehensive "things to do" booklet in the flat that came in handy for grocery shop locations as well as where to go locally for great meals and services. The location is very central and makes a great base to Explore Edinburgh and beyond by foot. The stairs up to the apartment might not appeal to everyone but honestly they aren't too bad and the bonus is being on the top floor you get those amazing views and no one is above you. You get used to them after a couple of days. :-). We highly recommend Stuarts apartment and would stay there again.

I really can’t praise the apartment and Yvonne highly enough, the apartment was spotless in a great place and loads of extras from extra toiletries to tea, coffee even chocolates on your pillows. Yvonne’s communication was excellent from start to finish and always answered promptly, Jane who checked us in was wonderful and stayed to do it despite our later than planned arrival. If I could give them all 6 stars I would.

We had an incredibly beautiful and relaxing time at Karen's place in the very idyllic place Burntisland. Actually, we wanted to stay directly in Edinburgh, which we couldn't afford. When we arrived in Burntisland, we were extremely positively surprised and quickly fell in love with the small place. In the end, we even found it better there than in Edinburgh. Not only is the city very convenient to reach by train within 40 minutes, the trains also run very regularly. The place itself is small but nice. All necessary shops, smaller food stalls, cafes or restaurants are available. However, we enjoyed the varied nature the most. You are right by the sea, behind you has the forest, a beautiful hillside, whose views are definitely worth climbing. The Fife Coastal Path runs through several such small places along the coast and the section around Burntisland is simply fantastic. Highly recommended!

We liked everything, the price is good

we have just left Howford house after a lovely 3 night weekend stay to celebrate my husbands 40th. we were a family of 14 adults, 2 children and a newborn baby and we had the most peaceful comfortable stay. the house is fantastic, it has everything you need and the location although super private and peaceful, it was near restaurants, the coop supermarket, Traquair House and land which we got discounted because we were house guests, and lots of walks and hikes. the surrounding acres were stunning with the frost and autumn leaves. we all loved our stay, the kids (and the adults) didn't want to leave. special thanks to Elaine the housekeeper who was brilliant with her communication and help. we will recommend and be back in the future.

Stayed here for 2 nights with 5 other adults - one of the best decisions! As a start, check-in was smooth. Everyone has their bed, towels which is great. Had to figure out the heater (our country is Summer all year) and Lukas was very responsive. This location is almost a straight drive to the city centre. With free parking at the location, it gave us great relief to know we won’t get penalised. Love this place! I would recommend this to others.

Entering this well appointed, beautiful home, there is a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The skylights bring in the natural light to the bathrooms. The Kitchen is modern and sleek, with everything you need to make a first class meal. The visually stunning, spacious backyard has a wonderful garden. There is a park just behind the house. My daily jog would lead me down to the beach. Here i would do a quick cold plunge- rejuvenating my body. The area is surrounded by a world renowned collection of golf clubs. The Longniddry golf club is a short walk and is a fun track. Thank you for being great hosts.

I can’t say enough about this place and how lovely Ian and Flo were in being such great hosts. Not only was the house fantastic but they were so kind and helpful… It was like staying with good friends.!
