Wakoh’s place was a very peaceful getaway! Her and her lovely family made me feel right at home. She is a very attentive and accommodating host with such wonderful recommendations especially for hiking, sightseeing and cafes! Thank you Wakoh, I only wish I could have stayed longer ☺️

Sanke Teahouse Hideaway | 8-minute walk to the station | 1 stop to Shibuya | Family/Couple | Cube

AnthonyRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Midori, she is the best Air B n B host I have ever the pleasure to communicate with. Before, even stepping a foot into her home, the pictures and descriptions are as accurate as can be + more bonuses there are left out. Traveling to Japan (cities) can be hectic, very tight, lots of people and overwhelming, As soon as I walked into her home, an immediate welcoming scent and a perfect home to decompress from a long day (super clean). Her location was perfect for my needs, met really cool locals, markets within a few minute walk and able to get to all my locations within a nice walk and train / bus ride (Shibuya = 2 stops). Japan's hotels are convenient, small, tight, but will never give you a homely feel. The Cube is the perfect environment for people who want the balance of peace in their vacation without losing the love of Japan, Thank you very much Midori for your hospitality and your above and beyond as a host to your guest....... 1,400 m2 private site/sauna, fire pit, BBQ, theater/mysa

WeeksRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
It was beautiful with a sauna, and the garden was large and very enjoyable. The living room was also large, and we were able to spend private time with each other, so we were very satisfied. There are supermarkets and Seria about 20 minutes away by car, and you can buy various items such as sake, wine, local beer, snacks, and bento boxes. There is also a Lawson just a 1-minute walk away Yamanakako has plenty of cycling courses, and there is a bicycle rental shop 3 minutes away by car, so it was nice to enjoy cycling The temperature was around 10 degrees in late May, and it was a little cold, but after cycling, it was great to warm up in the sauna and bath. Unfortunately, the neighboring hot spring facility was under construction and was closed for a few weeks. However, mysa's bath was spacious and the view was great. I'd love to use it again if I get the chance.

Retreat Resort Wild nature, private room and onsen

SarahmarieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Staying with Jun and Kimi at Peace One was the perfect way for us to start our Japan trip, and has already become one of my favorite travel experiences of my life. The guesthouse itself is in a tranquil setting in the forest outside Fujiyoshida. The private onsen was the perfect way to wind down after a long day of walking and exploring. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. We slept well on the futon mattresses. Jun was so flexible and easygoing about getting us to and from town that transportation was never an issue. He also taught us so much about the long history of the region and his research on peaceful indigenous societies before war began in Japan, even going so far as to take us to an ancient shrine near the house. Places like Peace One and people like Jun and Kimi are what travel should be all about. I highly recommend staying here, not just for the place itself but for the experience. “Peace” is certainly a perfect name for this place. I hope to stay here again someday!

Beautiful home with great history and beautiful views. We were lucky enough to see Fuji on a clear day, and coming home to a traditional home was quite a special experience. I would recommend this stay to anyone, especially those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the big cities.

Traditional experience with best Fuji view! Aoiso

SarahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had an incredible two-night stay at beautiful Aoiso. Shogo and Haruko were the perfect hosts for our quiet stay with views of Mt. Fuji. They were knowledgeable, and answered all of our needs. The room offered a traditional experience, and the hot baths eased our soreness after a long day of biking and exploring. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for an authentic, laid back experience.
