KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. Right in front of the house is the owner's restaurant, "Asemigawa Shokudo Kadoya", which is popular for its teppanyaki and other dishes made with local ingredients. We offer great deals for guests, so please stop by. A small separate room adjacent to the main house has a relaxing space with a room theater. You can enjoy movies and music and spend a relaxing evening. We also rent out free floats and underwater glasses for playing in the river, making it perfect for families. It is an inn filled with nature and playfulness. Activities such as canoeing and rafting are also popular on the nearby Yoshino River. There are plenty of food attractions, such as the legendary Wagyu beef "Tosa Akaushi" and the local rice that won the best prize in the national rice contest. Supermarket and convenience store are 3 minutes by car, and Mont-Bell Outdoor Village Motoyama is 7 minutes. There is a small river and a nice old house of Japanese style next to the house .The tool of the barbecue is prepared. （Please bring an ignition agent and charcoal） it's comfortable in summer as the temperature is a few degrees lower than in the city. As of 2024, mobile phones have become much easier to connect to. （no wi-fi） The air conditioner was installed in 2022, but it is only on the first floor.Enjoy the natural air. There is a fan. Firewood isn't available from May as it will be warmer.
