Excellent location within walking distance to Takayama old town. Accommodation looked new and stylish. However, there was some construction noise in the morning coming from next door which should be a temporary issue.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed Abode's accomodation. This was our favorite Airbnb in Japan. It is quite spacious and is very well decorated. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. The location is in the prettiest part of town, and the host is kind and responds quickly. Highly recommend!!

Renovated historic Japanese house over 80 years old/Free parking/2 toilets/Private house for rent

JuhyukRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It was a really satisfying accommodation to stay in Takayama. The accommodation was spacious and pleasant, so everyone in the group was able to stay comfortably. I was able to relax in a relaxed atmosphere. The neighborhood was quiet and secluded, so I was able to enjoy the relaxation without the noise of the city. When you open the window in the morning, the fresh air and the quiet scenery of Takayama unfold, It was a place that made me feel like I was welcome. The owner was also very kind. He guided us meticulously from check-in to check-out, and he also recommended nearby restaurants and attractions, which was a great help in planning our trip. Everyone in the group said, "I want to come again next time," and I think I'll visit again someday. If you're planning a trip to Takayama, I highly recommend it!

The best view from a house on a hillside! Renovated traditional Japanese house/132 ㎡, even 6 people can relax

JessieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our stay at this house. It was the perfect blend of traditional and modern. Everything was very clean, well organized, and helpfully labeled. Some aspects that stood out were the beautiful ornaments and decor, the view, and the large washing machine and dryer (so helpful for a family of five!), and also very kindly providing a small toothbrush and slippers for our youngest child. The host was so friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend that anyone visiting Japan should take a trip to Takayama to enjoy the beautiful town and house.

The house as well as the experience was amazing, it is much more beautiful than the photos. It’s one of the most beautiful renovated Japanese homes I’ve been in. The hosts are really friendly and helpful to give us recommendations which made our trip so enjoyable. If I travel to Gifu again I’d definitely stay again!
