The black sand house is one of a kind. We spend the second half of our honeymoon staying in the home and will not soon forget the views, the charming town, and the serenity of the natural surroundings. Susana and Rita were delightful hosts. So impressed by their friendliness and great communication. They welcomed us with delicious local goodies and a bottle of wine. Truly felt like a luxury experience. We hope to be back one day!

We had a great time in this apartment! It is comfortable, well-equipped, very clean and offers a beautiful view, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal, especially for the end of a stay, as it is close to the airport. We can actually hear the planes passing by, but that didn't bother us at all: there are no flights at night, so the nights are quiet. The welcome was warm and the communication with the host perfect. We recommend it without hesitation!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Maria’s place!! The view was stunning, we loved the pool and it was so peaceful. The bottle of wine was a nice touch, and we had to it to celebrate our engagement! All of the restaurants in Ponto do Sol were amazing as well!

Simply paradise! We felt super comfortable from the first moment. The accommodation is the best we've ever been to – perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Everything was super clean and furnished with a lot of love for detail. The garden and pool are fantastically beautiful and offer absolute relaxation. Waking up in the morning with the view of the sea and the sound of the waves was simply priceless. The kitchen in the accommodation is well equipped – and cooking in the outdoor kitchen was a real highlight, there was really nothing missing. Communication was very warm and uncomplicated throughout. Located in a small, charming village with a few restaurants where you can eat wonderfully. On the beach, you can enjoy fantastic sunsets – a real experience! For everyday needs, there is also a small supermarket close by. We will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful Airbnb and we truly enjoyed our stay — from beginning to end. The accommodation was next-level… beautiful interior and private deck on the second floor, and a shared infinity pool that overlooked the busy street below, but felt like you were in your own little paradise. Definitely recommend and will stay here again on our next trip to Madeira!

Ruben and Claudia’s place is dramatic and beautiful. Like an upscale boutique hotel but with a lot more space. Kudos to them if they are in fact the architects and designers of this place as it’s remarkable. How can I hire them to build one for me 😊 - - The rooftop space is a great place to hang in the mornings late afternoons and for nightcaps. Ruben even alerted us to a road closure due to a rally car race that likely would have caused us to park far away had we not known. Watching the race from the rooftop was unique as the cars raced up and down the surrounding hills. The parking pass to the very near lot is a godsend. Parking difficult all over the island but not at Rubens place. We are looking to spend many months a year in Madeira during our upcoming retirement and chose 4 different locations to explore and this home made us feel very much at home in Ribeira Brava.

I stayed at this property for the 2nd time and it was fantastically beautiful as always. It is very quiet, you have a beautiful landscape and the host is extremely friendly and helpful. Glad to come back! 😊

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa! Everything was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The view was absolutely stunning, and the pool quickly became one of our favorite features. It truly felt like a home away from home. Communication with the hosts was smooth and pleasant throughout. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing and unforgettable getaway!

Back yard is the focal point for me, sliding into the hot tub (super clean) and looking out at that view puts the biggest smile on your face. Everything was great.

We (2 couples sharing) recently stayed in Duarte’s lovely home. Duarte met us on the road where we parked our rental car and helped carry our luggage to the house, which was greatly appreciated, as it’s a bit of a trek along an uneven paved walkway with some stairs, down to the house. However it’s well worth the effort, as the unobstructed view of the ocean from the patio and every room in the house is absolutely stunning! The house is well equipped to prepare meals, lounge on the patio, and sleeps were sound and very comfortable in this peaceful setting. Duarte offered to help return our luggage up the walkway to the car but we planned ahead and took the largest bags a day ahead of checkout. Duarte is friendly and helpful and generous with his fresh eggs and locally grown bananas. Highly recommend this beautiful home!

Dear Paula, We felt completely comfortable in your accommodation. Your small, cozy tiny house has a very special flair – lovingly thought out to the smallest detail, tastefully decorated and sparkling clean. The view just flashed us – so beautiful and soothing! The check-in was totally uncomplicated and warm, which made our stay special from the beginning. Our wonderful host Sofia stopped by before we left and said “Isn’t it magical?” … it sure is and more. You will need nothing; you will want nothing more; you may forget all your plans to hike, find miradouro’s, and explore, because Villa Papaya is simply mesmerizing and keeps you in your happy place. If you must leave this Villa, it is close enough to just about everywhere you’ll want to go. José and Sofia are excellent at what they do; take advantage of this opportunity if you can, It’s Magical!

We were welcomed immediately very friendly by Connie, who gave us great tips for the restaurants in the neighborhood and some fresh vegetables from the garden. Connie and Johnny are always available for any questions, yet you have total privacy. The view is amazing, day and night. All furniture is from the highest quality, fully equipped kitchen, a perfect bed and an awesome bath. Worth every cent, just book it and you will have a dream vacation!

Dream stay. We even extended our stay because it was too hard to leave this view and these heavenly sunsets. The outdoor space is breathtaking. The accommodation has everything you need. (little echo inside, however, given the ceramic and concrete as the main interior coverings) Faja de Ovelha is very quiet so a car is a must if you want to go to the restaurant or grocery store. We did find a cafe up the hill that was perfect and walkable (if you feel like climbing stairs) From the house it is also possible to access 2 hiking trails that we liked a lot. Communication with the host was really easy and fast! We would highly recommend the Blue Sea Tower.

Well what can I say about abor villa- By far the best air bnb we have ever stayed in. Absolutely exceptional and decorated beautifully, so artistic and clean and akin to a boutique hotel. Emma was a fantastic host, she made the whole stay exceptional for our young family. Personal touches such as a mini chair for our two year old with suitable cutlery, cups etc ready for us, even taking the trouble to remove the legs of the children’s bed so not too high from the ground. She provided a box of toys for our children and ensured staples were ready for us after a late flight so that the children had food and milk- something we whole heartedly appreciated. The position of the villa was ideal- close to the capital, excellent views , close to restaurants and local towns and ideally situated so easy to get to the northern sites of the island which really wasn’t far when renting a car. Emma was easily reachable and offered lots of recommendations. The pool and views exceptional, we will return!

We really enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful place and we can recommend it!
