Cottage vacation rentals in Madeira

We had a wonderful time at Emanuels place. He was a wonderful host, very helpful with recommendations and showing how everything worked. The view from his place is incredible. We spent almost every evening on the terrace, enjoying the view of the ocean and Ribeira Brava. What a wonderful place! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa do Cantinho do Muro. The house is spacious and ideal for 4 people. We really enjoyed the extra summer kitchen with the barbecue. Everything was ready to use and easy. The neighborhood is quiet, the view is magnificent with the mountains surrounding the valley.

Fantastic views from the garden. The host was super helpful and quick to respond. There was a very generous welcome gift of fruits and local produce.

We had the privilege of renting this efficient and comfortable home for a month. Mary is an extraordinary host. Directions were precise, information was thorough and she was available to offer assistance, and answer questions at any time. Fresh citrus trees were available for picking just off the generous patio. We enjoyed the hot tub and having a washer and dryer and outdoor clothes rack. The Poncha Bar down the street is the best!!! Mary’s husband Joseph is the owner/bartender/coffee maker and general store manager….he does it all! Joseph’s Poncha is hands down the best we found on the island! A safe and welcoming neighborhood, in a central location on a stunning island.

We had a great stay. Unfortunately, during our stay, a glass lid fell from the cupboard above the stove, onto the stove. It was broken. Immediately reported and arranged with the owner. Very nice. Furthermore, the location is great, it is very quiet and beautiful. You are exactly on the right sunny side of Madeira. The cocktail bar a little further, pukiki, is within walking distance and very nice to go to. Shops are close by, beach is close by and the beautiful hiking trails are perfect to drive to. There is no air conditioning, I think that if it gets warmer you will notice the heat but there is a fan. The beds by the pool had collapsed, we just used our outdoor chairs. Everything in the cottage is otherwise in order. No great luxury but perfect for the price, the location and everything you need is present.

Pretty cottage on the heights of Sao Jorge. Comfortable, well-decorated, we only occupied it with two but it can accommodate 5 people. Great location for hiking departures. Two good restaurants nearby: Casa de Palha and Aeréo cafe (delicious beef skewers with an amazing view of the terrace).

The accomodation was nice, soooo quiet and peaceful. Only the bird chirping we can hear during our stay. the view from the covered terace was amazing. it was easy to reach the house by car. We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage.

We can clearly say: this was the most beautiful Airbnb we've ever stayed in!!! The location, the property, the pool and above all: the beautiful little cottage. Every detail is right, so tasteful and authentic, beautiful materials, no element too much or too little. To fall in love! Normally, we almost always go out for breakfast and eat, here we have often preferred to stay on the beautiful porch. Dustin and Paula were always there for us and made sure we always had everything we needed. We will be happy to come back!!!

If you're looking for a quiet area to get away from the crowds in the cities this is a wonderful place. It's nestled in the mountain valleys near Ponta do Prago but quite near the ocean. We loved our 6 day stay at Frederica 's. She provided good, clear instructions to get there. She also gave us very useful information on local attractions, restaurants and supermarkets. The house is on a very steep pitched road so walking up and down it can be a challenge ( we are in our 70's ) We did it a few times. There is a walk from her house to the waterfalls . It took us about 2 hrs. Rnd-trip but it was well worth it. If we were to return we'd go back in April or later.

Good place to stay. The host is very responsive and goes out of his way to answer any questions or problems. We found a cockroach and ants in the property. Cat droppings in the garden were cleaned up after consultation. The location is good, but the path to the beach is more complicated than described. 20min downhill or uphill ;) I was satisfied with the stay! The bathrooms are modernized, the kitchen is well-equipped. The garden furniture/ sunbathing areas appear outdated. We destroyed a lamp while hunting for insects. This was not charged to us. Armando was very nice and I can recommend the place.

This accommodation is truly magical, from the views overlooking Boaventura and the local festival, to the highly responsive and flexible support from Margarida and team. Only two things worth mentioning - the drive to/from the place is not for the faint of heart, with low visibility from the winding, small roads, and the understanding that the amenities are limited - no food / coffee, no paper towels, no bathroom soap (come prepared!) Despite that, I would 100% recommend and will certainly be back to enjoy again!

No better place in Madeira and we’ve been around the island. A place you feel like home the moment you step in. We left extremely sad. Very emotional stay. We absolutely adored it. And we highly recommend it to anyone who decides ti stay on the north coast.

The house was clean, the garden was nice and the location was really good. We also appreciated being able to check in a bit earlier. Some things could be improved. The garden furniture and barbecue were rusty, and a lot of the kitchen stuff wasn’t very clean. The bed was quite hard and small if you are taller than 1.75. With a bit more care it could be a much more comfortable stay. Overall it was an okay stay and we enjoyed the surroundings.

Regina’s house is sparkling clean, elegant and with breathtaking review. It is defiantly the best Airbnb we had in Madeira! Regina is super considerate and shows super care to her guest, we were welcomed with fresh bread (very yammy!!) and local wine and groceries which made our first day a easy one. We were able to cook traditional dishes “Espetada Madeirense” using the BBQ. The house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay and you won’t need to go anywhere else, the view on the deck is unbeatable!

Beautiful location great for surfing!! And one of the best air bnbs I have stayed at!

Lovely house, great furniture, good Internet. We especially loved the sun room. The house is in a compound with two other houses, but we only saw the neighbors once. Only downside: we were there in April and it was foggy and we could not get the cold & moisture out of the house no matter what we did.

Very nice cottage. Small but comfortable and exactly as described. It is a traditional stone cottage with small windows but it felt aired and clean. The spaces outside were particularly nice . Perfect location in Porto Moniz. Great host - thank you Graciela for letting us stay.
