Family-friendly vacation rentals in Madeira

Stayed for 6 nights in April. The house, it's location and Seixal were all fantastic. The heated pool was a real luxury and brilliant to see it in included in the price.

The place was beautiful in a very quiet location with stunning views. Everything was clean and furnished with love so that you can only feel comfortable from the first moment. It had everything you need, we also loved the many kitchen utensils and the grill, which we used every day. The terrace with whirlpool, lounge, loungers and table were the highlight. We spent a lot of time in the accommodation because we felt so comfortable. The beach Calheta is 5 minutes by car easy to reach and highly recommended. We also loved the private parking. Bruno and Maria are very accommodating and also asked how we are doing and if we need anything. The location was perfect for us, very quiet, lots of privacy and yet we can get everywhere by car. It was a very pleasant stay, the views were amazing. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. The whole house was really well equipped, there was everything you needed. The host was very kind. One thing, but rather related to Madeira itself, that little caterpillars were walking into the house. Other than that the stay was amazing.

Leonel’s home was beautiful and exactly as pictures. Leonel met us at the property and shared lots about the area and had wonderful recommendations. The house had lots of space for 2 or a family and it is very close to lots of beautiful activities. We had a wonderful stay.

Carlos’s place was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay – the property was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, and everything was well taken care of. A special thanks to Carlos for the warm hospitality and helpful communication throughout. Would definitely love to come back someday. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the house very much, it has a perfect location, we would book it again anytime.

Great apartment. Everything as described. Tip...bring some shower/bath gel or buy some locally. There was only little bottles of shampoo. This was to start you off when you arrived, but, if you feel like a shower after a long journey it would be nice to have just a couple of small bottles of gel just for the initial shower or bath. It was quite noisy when we stayed with very loud building works with an excavator loading and crashing rocks and boulders into the lorries and travelling right past the apartment loaded with all of those 🥺 This was at the front of the apartment, so although we couldn't use the balcony there: thankfully the bedroom was at the rear of the property, so a lie in was possible when the work started early in the morning. However, this may not be the case for any future guests as they may have finished the works before they arrive. Other than this problem, we had a great time on this beautiful island ( our 8th visit and our first time in self catering)

Maria’s 8th-floor apartment was perfect! Super clean, spacious, and the balcony had amazing views of the marina, Santa Catarina park, and the city. It has two bedrooms — one with a double bed, the other with two singles — both with private bathrooms and closets. There are three bathrooms total, all spotless. The kitchen had everything, plus a dishwasher and coffee machine. Laura, who welcomed us, was so kind and helpful. She messaged me before arrival, arranged parking, explained everything in the apartment, and even brought us a big bottle of water and fresh coffee capsules the next day. She also gave great local tips. The building has great security and private parking. Honestly, the whole stay was smooth and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Madeira — close to everything!

It has been sometime since I stayed in a real home-y and cosy house like Betty's. Our whole group (two families with small children ) was very pleasantly surprised by this beautifully decorated home. There were many essentials as well as some offerings by the host readily available. The location(although not very close to the historic center) is fantastic as it is possible to walk to some famous rock pools and a beach, as well as many restaurants, a mall and a supermarket. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

this place was great! it's in a cute area bear ponto do sol, lots of parking, and just a short walk from some hikes. Rodrigo was very helpful and responsive, the place was great, and his cat is so cute and friendly!

Beautiful house. The driveway is easy to miss if you're not paying close attention the first time. Well equipped kitchen. Next to a walking trail by the sea. Well situated to drive to other attractions around the island. Fanal forest, P Moniz, Santana, PR16, were not far away.

Sofia met us at the square upon arrival in Jardim do Mar and walked us to the house. She showed us where everything was and made sure we were well settled. We loved that the kitchen was well equipped for real cooking! We enjoyed meals on the beautiful patio. We felt extremely safe in the area. Our 7 year old daughter could walk to our friends' home around the corner (we would never let her do that at home). The beds were comfortable and towels were well stocked. We also loved having a washing machine and clothes line. We would definitely stay there next time we visit our friends!

The house is perfect. Only minus was the road renovation project, 2 times during our stay. To walk the dog nearby was a small problem, but driving further solved the problem. Veronica answered our questions promptly. Thank you for a good holiday. Small villages nearby are worth visiting, Ponta do Sol as well is very interesting.

Very pleasant Airbnb, as described and shown in photos. Lino, our host, picked us up from the airport and took us directly to the Airbnb. Great communication before and during the stay. The apartment is really nice, well lit, and has a beautiful view. Very well organized kitchen with plenty of dishes, large fridge, microwave and stove, which is nice, living room with sofa, TV, bedroom with double bed, large closet, desk, air conditioning and unobstructed ocean view. Everything was perfect, we even got a small regional cake on arrival. I would highly recommend this airbnb

The house was exactly as described — clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Everything was well prepared for our arrival, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and the whole place had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect — quiet and peaceful, yet close to local shops, restaurants, and everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space (great for morning coffee or relaxing in the evening). The host was extremely friendly and responsive, always ready to help or answer any questions. You can really tell they care about their guests and put a lot of thought into making the stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

We absolutely loved staying at Patricia’s villa. It’s a beautiful home and perfect for a family staying. Everything that you needed was available - a well stocked kitchen with lots of utensils, basic cooking supplies (oils, salt, pepper etc) and lovely filter coffee. Patricia went above and beyond by providing us baby equipment (a cot, linen, a high chair, bibs, plate and cutlery) that meant that we didn’t have to worry about extra packing. The views were incredible with such a beautiful terrace and pool. Our 16 month year old daughter loved running around and we spent a lot of time enjoying the peaceful nature outdoors and making use of the well stocked board games available. Patricia was a fantastic host and really helped us out when we had an issue with lost luggage by taking us to the airport, speaking to workers there and ensuring that we got it back! We were so grateful for such a wonderful host. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and would absolutely stay here again

I had a very pleasant and good stay at the Hillside Villa. At arrival I got very well received by Elvio at the villa. He explained everything good and gave some tips and advice for my stay. The communication is very good with Mandy an Elvio. Friendly and respons was fast. They give you the feeling your stay is important to them. The Hillside Villa was very clean and very well equipped. The pool is heated and nice also to use on a bit colder day. The garage is big enough for a medium to big size car. The street to the garage is a bit small but doable. So a bit of a challenge with a big size. Further the outside door space was clean and very useable with different place to seat during the day with sun. The neighbors are very nice people. Thank you for everything Elvio and Mandy.

The house was a wonderful place for us and our family. Plenty of room and the kitchen was very well equipped. The view was spectacular and the pool and patio were an excellent spot to relax.

This was by far the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Antonio was so helpful from the very beginning (he sent lots of info ahead of our arrival), made sure we could check in in the morning after our early flight and welcomed us personally at his lovely house with pool and all amenities one could look for (specifically in the kitchen and bathrooms, where we found all types of equipment, shampoo, tissues etc). The beds were comfortable, the view was stunning. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed cooking together (particularly barbecuing outdoors), but the house offered many peaceful corners for each of us to relax in, too. We also really appreciated Antonio‘s recommendations for hikes and other things to do on the island. Thanks a lot for everything!!

This place is awesome! Elvio is the best host. Clear instructions and directions (it’s a tricky place to find) but his instructions were perfect. The pool is private and a good home base after lots of hiking. We recommend hiking as early as possible and going back to enjoy the pool later. The restaurant up the mountain from the house is amazing (Calheta Green). And a recommendation from the host. Love this place!

Communication with the host was excellent from the start. Joao was always available and welcomed us personally and very warmly. The house is high up in the mountains and offers fantastic views of the ocean and beach. It is only accessible via several stairs. We counted 110 steps. The path pays off, the view is breathtaking and the property is beautiful. The house has a great roof terrace, which is quite windy. In addition, there are many ways to stay on the really large property and enjoy views. A swimming pool is also available. In the kitchen you can really cook. Everything necessary is included. 4-burner induction stove is available. There is a bathroom and another toilet, living room and dining area are spacious. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. We had a great time here and will definitely be back.

We loved our two weeks at this location. Superb views over the ocean and the surroundings. All we needed in the house was present and clean. Very peaceful neighbourhood (although we were a little unlucky to have roadworks ongoing). Amazing private pool (with an extra bathroom)! Carolina was super friendly and always available for questions. Would love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended!!
