Vacation rentals with a kayak in La Plata County

i booked an 8 day stay at kristine’s home with the intention of treating myself to a much-needed personal retreat! kristine is a most gracious hostess…her home is very beautiful and she made me feel welcomed and comfortable at all times. with an extra bonus of enjoying the majestic 360 degree setting , i felt super inspired after experiencing the first BIG snowstorm of the year. every sunrise, sunset, even the full moon, provided a perfect backdrop for this week full of gratitude! least i forget, sweet 9 year old chihuahua, “mazey”, is the “cherry on top of the cake”. THANK YOU, kristine and may-may! you’re the best!

We had a wonderful stay while in town for the weekend. Would definitely stay there again in the future if possible. Distance from town is about 15m and was very reasonably priced for the weekend

Jake was very responsive and answered all questions immediately. The place was very modern and clean, and convenient for our needs. We’d definitely rent from him again.

We absolutely loved this place. Just the memories of enjoying our breakfast on the front porch while the morning sun shined through the huge weeping willow tree and tree swing in the front yard will stay with us long after our departure.. We enjoyed the peacefulness of being away from the city but could easily take excursions to Mesa Verde National Park, Engineer Mountain for hiking, and to Durango for our epic train ride from downtown Durango to Silverton. John, the owner lives nearby and is very responsive and helpful. He uses Evolve for the booking process, but is more available as a host than most - going above and beyond for any requests we had.

Everything about Kathi & Dylan’s home was superb! Absolutely everything about the home was immaculate from the exterior to the interior. The amenities even seemed to have amenities! The surroundings were beautiful & the location was perfectly between Silverton & Durango with endless hiking options nearby. The home was cozy and we cannot wait to return!

I loved the beautiful location of the home and the easy check-in. Karin & Matthew are wonderful hosts and responded quickly to questions I had. I would definitely recommend this home. You won’t be disappointed.

Our trip to John’s house was fabulous. The house far exceeded our expectations. Everything I find a house for us to stay in. This would be for our family and I received great praise from all my family for having picked John’s house.

We are very appreciative of our host kindness. Mike helped find us some ingredients on Christmas Day. The cabin was perfect and cozy for our holiday. Our kids said it was five stars! We are definitely happy with our choice in the cabin and would recommend it. Pets are allowed which was great for us and our fur kid.

The porch the view, and the lake were perfect & peaceful. The inside was really comfortable for 2 couples, with cozy couches and cute decor. The vintage Smokey the Bear S&P shakers made me smile as soon as I walked inside. Everything was nice & clean. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, and I loved everything about my stay. The host & hostess were so friendly too. I hope to come back again bc this was one of ky favorite vacations.

Beautiful place which we enjoyed A LOT. The host provides with SUPs and Kayaks.. I did not know about the SUP so I had brought my own. We only used the coffee maker, fridge and microwave... but it seemed that the kitchen was well stocked if cooking had been on our agenda.

Awesome cabin! Perfect stay! Will return next time in the area!

We stayed here for Christmas. Well maintained clean cabin right by the lake with amazing views and plenty of places to walk and enjoy the scenery. Management was great. Making sure drive way and drive to the cabin was cleared and safe with all the snow and ice. Would recommend 4x4 though if you come in the winter time. They were great about getting us fire wood for the wood stove and even checked on our dogs for us while we were in Durango. I’ll be back next year to do some fishing and do it all over again!

We have stayed at Croll's Cabins several times before and have had nothing but wonderful experiences, this time was no different. We stayed in Armstrong Library for the third time but this was the first time since they remodeled, and it is beautiful! We always feel as though we are at home, and the comfort and hospitality of Croll's Cabins is unmatched! They truly provide everything you could need which makes packing and traveling much easier, and I appreciated having someone within reach in the case that we needed anything. The paddle boards and canoes that are available to use free of charge was a new addition, and we spent most of our trip playing on lake! Thank You Croll's Cabins for your amazing hospitality and helping us to make many new memories, we look forward to returning next year!!

Had such a wonderful long weekend at Elk Point. The cabins are right next to the stunning lake. We used the complementary paddle boards several times. If we are ever in this part of the country again, we will absolutely stay here again.
