This is not often the kind of place to stay on Airbnb. A more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time journey to a 19th-century Ostrobothnian village. The destination is best suited for lovers of Lapland's nature, history and silence, who are not afraid of the dark in winter or mosquitoes in summer. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

An all-new winter cottage built in a traditional log log frame in 2019. In the cottage, you can relax in a hotel-level bed looking at the fireplace. The small kitchen is superbly equipped. A great sauna heats up at the touch of a button. The cottage is located in the immediate vicinity of Suomutunturi, about 140 km from Rovaniemi Airport. In addition to skiing and skiing, the area also has excellent opportunities for outdoor activities and camping in the summer. The hotel rents skis and organises tours.

Our holiday home is situated in Kemijärvi 85 kms/ 53 miles north-east from Rovaniemi. Nice peaceful 71 m2 apartment close to the nature. You can rest hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, picking berries or mushrooms - whatever you like. Kemijärvi is a town of 6000 inhabitants in the middle of two lakes just above the polar circle. Sauna. There are good trails for crosscountry skiing almost from our front door. The distances to the downhill skiing areas: 45 kms to Suomu and 53 kms to Pyhä.

1ha Private island, small cabin and lakeside sauna. Beds for 4-6. Gas stove, 2x fireplace. One separate bedroom and in the living room there's two sofas suitable for sleeping. Electricity comes from the sun and, if necessary, from generator. Outdoor sauna (no shower) and outhouse (no WC). Water from well. You can swim directly from the sauna at your own small sandy beach, or you can even splash into the water from the pier. Access to island by boat takes about 6 minutes.

Our igloos are 32m² in size and can accommodate two to four persons. The motorized double bed is directly under the glass ceiling. Separate extra beds are made from the sofa. All igloos are equipped with a toilet and a shower, a TV, a drying cabinet for outdoor clothing. All rooms have a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, cooking hobs, dinnerware and cutlery, a kettle, a coffee maker, a microwave oven and a dishwasher.

Atmospheric house on the banks of the Kemijoki River

Scenic beaches by the Kemi River, about an hour drive from Rovaniemi, 65km to Kuusamo. Once upon a time, I recommend renting a car. 75 m2 cottage with all amenities, two bedrooms, kitchen-living room, sauna, bathroom, porch and terrace. Near the cottage there is a beach (about 700 m). Opportunities for snowmobiling, fishing, berry picking, hunting and hiking. There's a boat landing place about a mile up the road.
