TABITABI is a 100-square-meter, two-story house built in the Taisho period with a modern style. You can enjoy an accommodation experience unique to Kyoto, where the old and new coexist, in a creative space with a harmonious modern interior, while retaining the remnants of when it was a wooden house, such as the beams with a history of over 100 years running along the high ceilings and beautifully decorated fittings. There is a private garden and open-air bath on the first floor. There is also a state-of-the-art unit bathroom on the second floor. We have two Simmons mattresses, the best in the United States. The Japanese-style room is decorated with a "vortex" design jointly created by a Kyoto washi maker with over 100 years of history and Japan's leading furniture craftsman, resulting in a shoji screen with a unique blend of light and design. The Japanese-style room cushions are "stylish and comfortable to sit on for a long time."We have placed the "Ojami Zabuton" cushion developed by Takahata-ya in the theme of "Fashionable and long-lasting comfort on the floor". Founded 100 years ago, Konaka Takahoka still does everything by hand. You can experience the comfort born from ingenuity that cannot be handled by machines, such as forming kamaboko molds and cutting corners by traditional handmade techniques.

Very, very satisfied experience with one stay!I finally stayed in my dream townhouse. This trip to Kyoto was arranged because I got a two-day homestay. It didn't disappoint me at all!Great location, about 200 meters from the door you can take 203.204, it is easy to go to Kinkakuji Temple, Kiyomizu Temple and the business district!I can only stay in Kyoto for two days, so the time is very tight, I left early and came back late, I didn't have time to enjoy this house, it's a work of art!When it's the red maple season, I must come to Kyoto again and I must get that room at that time!

Had a wonderful stay in this traditional Japanese room. The host was very friendly and accomodating. He provided us delicious breakfast every morning and gave us good tour spot recommendations. We felt comfortable and welcomed here. Would definitely come again on our next Kyoto trip.

Wow this was probably our favorite Airbnb ever! Hosts friendly and charming, providing us with a hand-drawn map of the neighborhood with their recommendations! We tried 2 recommendations and loved them both. The room was comfortable and clean, but still felt like a very traditional style home. I loved reading Murakami on the futon next to the zen garden. A great launching point for exploring Kyoto. A lovely walk to Gion, Pontocho, Yasaka Shrine, and more. Convenient to the subway. Also, we loved hanging out at the nearby canal in the evenings, and it looked like this was a favorite for locals from the neighborhood too. We cooled our feet in the water, saw fireflies among the willow trees, and sipped lemon sours from the convenience store.

I fell in love with the charm of the old house. It has been renovated, and it is a nice space where you can enjoy both Japanese and contemporary styles at the same time. The retro townscape was also great♪ The innkeeper was very kind and I felt that they were concerned about keeping it clean.I would like to stay again when I visit Kyoto again.
