Cottage vacation rentals in Kalkaska County

The house looked exactly like the pictures! The house was very clean and updated. Our party of 7 had plenty of room to enjoy ourselves. The location was private, peaceful, and quiet. We were able to use to local pool access included with the stay, which my kids loved. The couch was very comfortable to relax on and enjoy TV and games. My kids loved the loft area where they could watch TV and play games. The kids room with bunk beds and another bed was a big hit! It was great to have a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. The fire pit area was nice and the deck was wonderful. We had a great stay!

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

This cozy, quiet, very clean and homey space has become our favorite rental home of all we have rented. The personal touches really made us feel we were staying at a family or friend’s home. It had paper ware, seasonings, clean pots pans, coffee, zip lock bags, candles throughout the home. The bedding, pillows and towels were top notch. Not to mention the wonderful hot tub, kayaks, dock space, grill and fire pit. I will make mention the 2 bedroom are upstairs. 2 full bathrooms but bathroom upstairs next to bed rooms is a bathtub only. Mark was so pleasant and attentive to answer any of our questions and we look forward to a return trip.

Cozy newly refinished right on the lake! Cute thoughtful touches. Luke is a great host. FYI there are about 10 cement steepish stairs down to the front door. The view was perfect.

We had a great holiday weekend at the cabin for the Bayshore Marathon. It is very clean and has everything we needed and more. It had a seccluded woodsy feel in spite of being very near the main parts of town and walkable. Close to the beach, the start trail but private with a wooded back yard and creek running through the property. 3 mile is noisy and busy as is 31 but it didn’t bother us. We brought ear plugs just in case.

The cottage was beautiful! With the lake outside the back door, and several outdoor spaces to relax in, this home would be a blast in the summer. We enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, and the cozy spots inside during a snow storm. It was perfect getaway, and look forward to coming back!

A True Slice of Heaven! We had such an incredible stay at Slice of Heaven! The property is absolutely beautiful — private, peaceful, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway. The main home was spotless and cozy, and the extra rental RV added such a fun and unique touch with extra space for our group. The views were stunning, especially from the private beach and dock. We loved having access to the kayaks and paddleboards — it made our time on the water even more memorable. The thoughtful amenities like robes, towels, water shoes, and more made it feel like a luxury retreat. Dan was very responsive and helpful, especially when we had a small issue with the RV’s tank system — he made sure we were taken care of quickly. The only thing I wish could have been better was the check-in and check-out times. It would’ve been great to have a bit more flexibility, as our check-in felt quite late and check-out came too soon. Still, that’s a small detail in an otherwise perfect stay.

You have an absolute Gem of a cabin! I booked this trip on a whim only knowing I wanted to see Torch lake but unknowing of the area. I can’t imagine finding a better rental in all the area. It was absolutely perfect for our family in every way! I’ll start with the location. There is everything you need within minutes. Private access to the water with the perfect little beach just a couple minute walk down the road, grocery store, gas station, liquor store within a 5 minute drive. Kayak rental minutes down the road. Beautifully maintained hiking trails surrounding the area (I was shocked how much nicer they are than state parks in our area). We enjoyed going into Aden to shop, play at the park and get ice cream. The cabin was so comfortable we felt very much at home. It had a generous amount of supplies (towels, hygiene and paper products ect….) This place has been a prime location for a people free vacation at an incredible value and I’ve been recommending it to everyone! Thank you!

Even with cold, rainy weather, we still had the best weekend staying here! The cabin is so cozy with everything we needed, we felt right at home. Being right in the water was fantastic, especially enjoying the view from the hot tub on the colder days. If you're in the area I would highly recommend staying here!

Charming house, with views of Torch Lake. The sand bar access/ swimming is just down the street about 200 yards. Beautiful wooded back yard, with a firepit, lawn furniture and hammock for realaxing. House is clean and comfy. everything you need for a stay. Like the add says, bring your toothbrush and beach towel, everything else is there for you.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The home was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the quiet mornings and evenings in the back yard. We also enjoyed that the ORV trails were just a short drive down the road.

Such a beautiful home with a scenic view and attentive host! 10 out of 10 would stay again.

Tom was a great host and took great care of us. Responsive, accommodating, and very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone coming up! This will definitely be our go to spot!

We absolutely loved the Loon Lodge! It's a beautiful, peaceful place that we would definitely go back to. The owners thought of EVERYTHING. We were a bit to loud the second night, so keep in mind that this is a quiet, peaceful place. Everything echoes. My family and I enjoyed every moment here ❤️

This place is beautiful! Very clean, host kept in contact with us leading up to the vacation. Super easy check in. My parent’s small vacation home is less than 15 minutes away, we loved the commute. Neighborhood stayed clean, felt safe all the time, easy roads to navigate as well. I will be working here again!

Beautiful peaceful place , private and easy to find , clean, neat . I loved it only suggestions is bring spray for the nats inside they were annoying it was better sitting outside no bug problems. Lol 😆 🤣

These fine folks have a very nice and welcoming home and it’s well taken care of. We had a ball and thank the team for the lovely stay.

We had a great stay at Ben's place! We had a slight issue with getting inside initially, but Ben responsed within a matter of minutes and took care of it promptly! The cottage and area was just as described and had everything that we needed. We spent our days visiting some of the nearby cities which were a short drive away such as Traverse City, Bellaire, and Charlevoix and enjoyed unwinding in the evenings by the dock area. We especially loved the Cherry Street Market in Kalkasa and enjoyed Moose and Stella's Cafe in town for breakfast. The neighborhood was very quiet, friendly and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much and Ben is a great host!

We needed to bring Thanksgiving to the area where our parents live but needed extra space so we rented this cabin. Very secluded but not alone (there are other cabins around). It was just great, very cozy during a couple of cold snowy nights! Very well outfitted, especially the full size kitchen. We brought a few things with us worried that the kitchen may not have everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner but it did! Great communication from the hosts at all times, but we never needed anything. We would happily go back again, hopefully in the summer, what a beautiful spot overlooking Starvation Lake.

I wish I would have booked my stay for longer, and I had this place booked for two months. The privacy and views here and around, are unmatched and for the rates it is a no-brainer. There are trails within minutes and plenty of places to set off in a kayak or canoe. Lakes galore. Plenty of fun summer activities. The hosts were very kind and polite, and spoke to me like I was a person rather than a tenant for any amount of time. Best AirBnB experience I have ever had. Thank you guys. Hopefully I can make it back again sometime

The home is perfect for a family with children. Very clean, everything was great! I recommend to everyone! We will definitely come back here 🙂

Enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, fully furnished house. Close to town. Just one note, The photos make it look more private than it is although the yard sizes are larger. Just depends on your perspective of private.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! We appreciated the gorgeous lake and large yard. The lake view from the sun room was a highlight, and the sunsets were breathtaking. The cottage is well stocked with every amenity, and there is a thoughtful guide to the house and area. Our host was amazing and very attentive, ensuring we had an amazing stay. We feel lucky to have found such a lovely place to stay this time of year during peek fall foliage week; it was very peaceful and relaxing. We will be happy to come back again during the summer, as it was not the season for water sports. Beautiful, immaculately clean, and welcoming home!
