A perfect base for a countryside/city break. It is a cosy, compact, upgraded 2nd floor flat - bright & airy, with picturesque views of the countryside. I provide basic groceries for a self-service breakfast - an Aldis store is 1min away, & b'fasting cafe 2mins. By car or bus, you are nearby all the attractions the Scottish Borders are so famous for. Day trip to Edin? Running well, first trains to Edinburgh start before 7am, and last return just before midnight - perfect base for Edin Festival.

Part of a Steading (barn) sympathetically converted in 2006, overlooking woods and fields from its own enclosed garden. The cottage is ideaI for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. One hour by car from Edinburgh, 35 mins from Lindisfarne and 45 mins from Bamburgh. If you'd like to leave the car at home and cycle to us it is 13 miles from the station at Berwick-upon-Tweed. Tucked away down a small lane, you can walk or cycle from the door or simply sit and watch the wildlife.

Lovely, spacious room in large property on the quiet High Street in Gordon, offering on-street parking very close to the front door. My room was large and had a huge, comfortable bed with lovely bed linen. I was only there for two nights but had a very comfortable stay.

Shiell Cottage was a lively place to stay, clean comfortable and well equipped. I rented it as a base for the Scottish Border Hill Rally where I was part of the Marshall and setup team. it was bigger than I needed but was very competitively priced against local, and not so local hotels. I would definitely rent again, and is top of my list for next year's event.
