We had a great stay at Mikkun’s Airbnb. It was clean, well-maintained, and spacious enough for our family of three—could easily fit four. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the clear instructions for appliances and Wi-Fi were very helpful. There’s a large bed and a sofa-cum-bed our daughter used comfortably. The location is lively and walkable, with easy access to the station and plenty of places to eat nearby. A few things to note: the apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator, so carrying heavy luggage was a bit challenging. Also, there's a karaoke bar on the 2nd floor, which can be a bit noisy at night—but earplugs are thoughtfully provided. Mikkun was a kind and responsive host. Highly recommended!

The building is a modern three-story structure featuring a mix of wooden and dark paneling. Balconies with wooden railings are visible on each floor, overlooking a snow-covered landscape, and large windows provide abundant natural light.

Big Bear Apartments 4, Studio Apartment, Hakuba

HelenRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We stayed in "green season". The accommodation is lovely, clean and very quiet. It is about a 20 minute walk from the main area of Happo/gondola and around 40-50 minutes from Hakuba train station which for us was not a problem but is something to bear in mind. I think in ski season there would be more bars/restaurants open directly local to the property and there are shuttle buses in winter so maybe not so much of an issue then. Darren was very responsive and Grant was great with rides to/from the train station at the start and end of our stay. Overall, would recommend.

Hakuba Lodge OMUSUBI / ski in ski out location

AnnetteRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a great stay at Omusubi. Ryuichi, as everyone else mentioned, is such a helpful and kind host who greeted us personally. He gave us great recommendations and is always responsive when we had questions. The place is a walk away from Cortina and a few mins drive from Norikura, so convenient for skiing. The whole unit is clean and spacious, and the heating is great! The only slightly downside is that the soundproofing isn’t so great, so you’d hear sounds from the next room and outside if there is significant noise. Thankfully the area doesn’t seem to be noisy so we weren’t too affected. Overall it is still an excellent option for the Hakuba area!

Apt D Stunning Alps Views

ShonaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
So pleased we chose Hakuba Downtown Apartments for our first time to Hakuba. The unit was so spacious, modern, comfortable and clean - and the views were incredible! Couldn’t have asked for more. The location suited us perfectly - we hired a car, and loved the freedom of choosing resorts each day depending on conditions. But what set this accommodation above our expectations was the host - Pete is a legend. A top bloke who couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying at HDA - you will love it!

Traditional Japanese house with world antiques/1-minute walk from Matsumoto Castle/12 people [Popotel one]

KarenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved this Airbnb. It was definitely a favorite. It is actually set up as a super cool hostel, but our family of four had the place to ourselves. It is very big with multiple rooms and sleeping options, including one with bunk beds that my kids enjoyed. There is also a an area for kids that had big rolling toys that the kids also enjoyed. Everything is labeled clearly and anything that you might need is provided, including bikes! The host is also kind and responsive. I hope that you get the chance to stay here. It is definitely highly recommended!

N4 Hakuba | [Forest View Bathroom] [Half-Indoor Garage] Private Cottage for up to 4 people in winter

DarrenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed here during the Golden Week weekend as a base for the Tateyama Alpine Route. The host was thoughtful, informing us about potential traffic and the colder mornings and evenings. The house sits in a peaceful neighbourhood and was spotless upon arrival. The heaters were already running, and KitKats on the table added a welcoming touch. The high-tech toilet opens its lid at the press of a button, and parking is spacious enough for a Toyota Noah. Instructions in both English and Japanese were clearly laid out, making everything easy to navigate. This home is also wheelchair-friendly, featuring a dedicated accessible restroom and a lift at the entrance. Though we didn’t need it, it’s great to know those amenities are available. Overall, a comfortable, well-equipped stay—highly recommended!

Had a great couple of days at Nick & Hiro's. The architecture was beautiful and place was pristine, 50m away was a nice bar you could relax at as well. The address was hard to find with apple google maps but Nick was quick to drive to us and assist for check-in. Big ups Nick it was a pleasure.

ハコノソト OMOYA

SarahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Absolutely beautiful house, the photos do not do it justice. The renovation is so stylish, it's one of the nicest Airbnbs we've stayed in. Such a peaceful setting, and the onsen was fabulous (because of its size it takes a while to fill). We highly recommend the ramen at the end of the street. Only things to note are the lack of privacy in the shower room during the day (we had some neighbours wander through!) and the second bedroom has limited privacy. This was fine for us as a couple but just to note if you come with a group.

Penke Panke Lodge - Studio & Breakfast + Deck

DaxtonRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our stay at Penke Panke Lodge was lovely. The room was beautiful, especially the bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. We made use of the kitchen during our stay and had everything we needed to cook our meals. The staff were very friendly, and Justin, the host, was very nice and accommodating. They had bikes on the property that were free to use, and we took advantage of that by using them for a nice bike ride around Hakuba. The location was great and within close proximity to the town. Overall, we loved our stay at Penke Panke and would definitely stay again on our next visit to Hakuba!

I could not recommend Villa Monochrome enough! Yasue was so helpful the whole time of our stay, she picked us up and dropped us off at the bus terminal for arrival and departure and even drove us to get groceries. She was helpful during our stay and really made us feel at home. The accommodation was beautiful and well equipped and the location is fantastic for snowsports at Happo One. Will definitely be staying again! Special mention for the Kotatsu (heated) table. That was such a lovely treat after a day on the mountain. 10/10 for Villa Monochrome.

Hakuba Resort Cottage Villa monochrome

I can’t hype this place up enough. Perfect homey hideaway, right next to sakka slopes!! After a recommendation of rental gear (5 minutes away) we just needed to gear up and cross the road to the ski lifts. Its such a flex to be able to just walk back across the road to a warm and homey villa. We can’t thank Yasue and her partner enough. We will be back!! Would love to hike this area in spring. It was purely magical in winter, and was lucky enough to see some snow monkeys too!! We loved Hakuba. Hopefully we can come when there are less tourists as they can be quite disrespectful. We hope we have made a good impression for you!! Thank you very much and can’t wait to be back!!
