We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ahua Portugal, where our host Anne guided us with thoughtful local tips and quick responses. Nestled on a peaceful hillside above Seixe Valley, the modern house had every comfort we needed and felt like the perfect retreat. We were deeply inspired by Anne’s dedication to the land. She has led a reforestation project across her 18-hectare estate, planting over 30,000 cork trees to restore the forest after wildfires. Tip: Do plan to bring a reliable car. The unpaved access roads are best navigated with a vehicle that has good clearance. If you’re seeking a serene, private getaway with a caring, responsive host deeply connected to her land, Ahua Portugal is an exceptional choice! Five stars all the way, and thank you, Anne!

We had a gorgeous stay here with our toddler. The house had everything we needed for traveling with a child and was complete with toys, beach going needs like towels, umbrellas, and beach toys, as well as a crib and high chair. We borrowed their bikes and explored town and loved visiting the gelato place that’s around the corner. At night, we listened to the frogs in the rice paddies behind the house and loved watching the bird life during the day. Getting to the beach was quick and easy and we spent two days there. Our family of 5 had a wonderful week at Ed's beautiful Cabanas. It is really well set up for a family and really has everything you could need (e.g. beach chairs, beach towels, buckets and spades) as well as a washing machine & dryer, which is very much appreciated when travelling with children! We stayed in May half term week and the weather was lovely and the heated pool excellent. It's a lovely peaceful area and the scenery is stunning (there is quite a bit of building going on in the region but it is generally well screened and there was nothing that disturbed the peace for us). The beaches are beautiful and close by. Eating out was easy and there were lots of options even though I think the season was just getting going - Ed gave us some great recommendations. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa da Falesia. We were welcomed to the house by Renato and his wife. They were extremely helpful, explaining all the house details and giving us advice about the surroundings, places to visit, where to eat (we went 3 times to Tia Rosa) and buy essentials . The house is fully equipped, and even if there is no air conditioning, it kept cool and comfortable the whole stay, even if the temperatures outside were quite high (32C). The beach is three minutes away, by walk, accessible by a stair that goes down an amazing cliff, resembling a star wars scenery. The location was perfect for us, as it allow us to do some birding excursions at the trails of Lagoa de Sto André, and to the bird observation tower at Praia de Melides. It’s also close to Comporta, where you can find some nice designer shops (even if quite expensive), and Troia, where you can find a beautiful beach, where swimming is less challenging. We do hope to return one day.

Absolutely gorgeous and very well equipped house with a lovely pool in a nice quarter not far from Comporta. Beautiful surroundings (trees/forest right behind the house) and close to the beach. Duarte was a communicative, responsive and helpful host - we really appreciated this as there's only so much you can research online. The location of Casa da Encosta is magical, the fact you can't park outside makes it all the more special with no immediate road noise. The small terraced garden which surrounds the house is totally charming, offering plenty of little places to separate yourself from others should you wish and read a book or enjoy the view. Fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and the renovation executed thoughtfully. The feeling of being inside a jewelled box comes to mind. Yet it feels like someone's home and you feel welcome in it. A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a remarkable region of Portugal. Thank you.

Carla's house is simply spectacular, exactly like the photos, cozy, super clean, extremely equipped with everything we needed. Carla was super attentive since our first contact, always willing to help with whatever was needed, always available to answer questions! My family and I loved staying at her house and we will definitely stay there again when we return to Portugal! Thank you for everything Carla.

Wow wow wow. It's not often you stay at a place that is truly magical. The house is perfect, Johann did an immaculate job with it, and it's so beautifully done, it was nice to appreciate the care he must have put into it, and the cleanliness leaves most other AirBnB properties to shame. But it's the outside you're here for (at least in summer) - a stunning view down to the sea at Lagos in the distance, a garden bursting with plants, flowers and wild life. And the pool. I had to get in it every morning and pinch myself that it was real. This place is magical, breathtaking. You could easily spend a week here without going anywhere. But if you need to, the unspoilt beaches of the Algarve are about an hour away (try Castelejo or Bordeira). Monchique is a lovely place to visit with some great cafes/restaurants. Supermarket is less than 10 mins away. The wild storks in their nests on the way from Faro were a pleasant surprise. We did donkey walking with Happy Donkeys locally. We'll be back!

Absolutely loved this airbnb. In a prefect walkable location, and easy to drive to with parking. The apartment was gorgeous with everything we needed. Highly recommended

Artur was an incredible host and we loved our stay at his beautiful home! He went above and beyond to provide recommendations, flexible check in and luggage storage options, and a thoughtful welcome gift for our group. Him and his family were proactive and responsive in communicating, which made our stay a breeze. The apartment is comfortable, clean, bright, large, and great for a group (especially with its beautiful patio). The location was convenient and walkable to many of the tourist sites, and accessible via metro and tram as well. I highly recommend Artur’s home for anyone hoping to explore Lisbon!

Cannot recommend enough, Peggy and Rupert were extremely responsive, polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The apartment was pristine, as described and in a good location with some really special beaches nearby (15 min walk) From setting up car hire, to restaurant recommendations and parking info, Peggy made everything simple. The apartment was well stocked with all the things you'd need, my only regret was that I didn't have time to finish the book I borrowed off the shelf! We would come back, thanks so much!

My partner and I started at Ricky and Diana’s for four nights and we had a lovely stay. They were very responsive and always available to answer any questions and queries. Check in was smooth and well described. The area itself of the place was well located and in close proximity to a number of restaurants and bars, as well as popular attractions such as the National Pantheon and Feira de Ladra. Our hosts did let us know beforehand of the festivities that took place each night so of course whilst it was noisy, we appreciated the heads up. We also really appreciated the port left to us and a bottle of wine which was a really nice touch. Thank you Ricky & Diana!

Aurelia’s house had a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in. I especially appreciated the local guidebook on the living room table- it’s clear Aurelia truly cares about her guests’ experience.

Le logement est joli, très agréable et confortable. Il est très bien situé pour profiter de la vieille ville d'Evora. Tout est accessible à pied. Catia est une hôte remarquable, elle avait laissé quelques petites attentions que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Even more lovely in person! A peaceful and relaxing retreat. I highly recommend. Just be sure you have your gps working as we lost connection and would easily have gotten lost (half of our group did).

Local bastante acolhedor, rodeado de natureza o que proporciona uma estadia relaxante! Desde a recepção ao quarto estava tudo bastante organizado e higienizado. O Jantar foi bem servido com a disposição de uma equipa fantástica. Não podemos deixar de parte e mencionar a funcionária Erika pelo prestável serviço que disponibilizou durante toda a estadia. Sem dúvida uma experiência para refazermos uma vez que deixamos o local com imensas saudades.

We had such a wonderful time at Julia’s charming property. It’s the perfect antidote to boring hotels or bulk standard villas. The house has such character, with thick stone walls and beautiful antique furniture. The outdoor kitchen is perfect to prepare long leisurely lunches by the pool, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. If you want to unwind and relax almost immediately it’s the perfect hideaway from the modern world. Julia is a wonderful host; highly communicative and helpful, but very discreet and respectful of her guests’ privacy. Her docile, friendly dog, Liefje, is just gorgeous, but won’t bother you if you prefer that. We wanted to see her as much as possible! It was so hard to leave such a magical place.

Perfect place if you look for grounding and for spending time in nature. Very remote, very quiet and peaceful location, ideal also for digital-/media detox. Well equipped accommodation, you will find all you need for cooking etc. Also aesthetically nice place, from perspective of architecture and interior design: very nice small house, with harmonic combination of nice pieces of furniture and arts. Overall very nice experience and perfect place for relaxing, we will for sure come back. Good connection to Jan and local team.

This place was perfect for what we were looking for. We needed somewhere that could accommodate 9 of us, 6 adults and 3 children under 3. The house itself was beautiful, very tidy and had so much space. The hosts Ana and Nuno had thought of the children and provided us with cots, high chairs, children’s dinnerware, and even things for the children to play with. The swimming pool was gated off as described. The location felt really private and quiet, with beautiful views of the sea. We were able to walk down to the local shops and beach of Praia das Maçãs, so we didn’t need to hire a car. Ana was so friendly and helpful before and during our stay. We had such a lovely time here, and would love to come back one day.

Nuno was an extremely helpful and welcoming host, and his home was a great base for us for the week. Some lovely shops and restaurants within walking distance, and an easy drive to the local beaches

Casa Mayor was beautifully renovated and furnished, a great place for a peaceful family holiday. We wished we had booked more than one night. Relaxing in the jacuzzi watching the sun set over the forests was wonderful, followed by dinner round the massive traditional table, and we also enjoyed wandering round the estate. The breakfast hamper was a lovely touch. Just beware that the dirt track in is quite long, narrow and bumpy, however, we felt we had an authentic experience of rural Portugal. Highly recommended.
