In the bright basement (with windows) of our unique canal house with façade-garden, on the corner of a canal and a square with large oak-trees you find this b&b wih lots of privacy, nice rooms and close to everywhere you would like to go! You enter the spacious entrance hall with table and coffee / tea supplies; with a private bathroom, separate toilet and a cozy bedroom / living room. Renovated with natural stone and wood. Carola's houseboat was a magical place to stay as a solo female traveler and first-time visitor to Amsterdam. The location was secure, and Carola lives next door, which made me feel extra safe. It still felt very private though! I liked that it was out of the craziness of downtown, but still very easy to reach by tram, bike, or walking (20ish minutes). The bedroom was cozy with lots of storage for my clothes and toiletries and stayed pretty cool. You never know what kind of bed you're going to get at an Airbnb, but this one was perfect. I slept well every night and only got woken up by a heron on the roof once! :) Carola herself is extremely kind and welcoming and made my experience special with small touches and our conversations. I can't wait to come back and book Carola's place again. It might be a little small for tall people, but it was perfect for me!

Peter's boat is located in a beautiful Amsterdam neighborhood that is away from the crowds near Centraal station. Allows you to access a less touristy part of the city while still remaining close to the canals (can't get any closer!), museums, and restaurants. Peter renovated the space himself and lives in the other side of the boat but I could never hear any sounds other than the ducks in the canal. The space had everything I needed but it is tight quarters as expected for a remodeled boat so would not recommend for taller folks (I'm 5'7"/1.7m and had no issues) or people with mobility issues as there is a ladder to access the living quarters.

location is perfect. Host "David" is so friendly and will spoil you with his care :) free fruits, coffee and endless selections of tea! which you can drink on his lovely zen garden and if you're lucky you can watch him feeding his friend bird!
