Romantic cottage with stunning Views

Beautiful tranquil country cottage with private garden boasting spectacular views over the Pentland hills . The cottage is well situated for exploring the area, being just 5 minutes drive from Rosslyn chapel, (which you can also walk to from the cottage by following the path through the glen.)The Pentland hills are only 10 minutes drive, and it takes less than 30 minutes to get to edinburgh city centre. It is a great place to come home to after a day of hillwalking ,working or sight seeing.

This cottage is a beautiful recently renovated country cottage this sits in stunning countryside only 2.5 miles from Peebles and 18 miles from Edinburgh. There is lots of outside space so car parking, keeping bikes etc is all really convenient. There’s a shared courtyard area and also a shared garden so if wanting to relax outside or have a barbecue that is easily done. It’s a £7 taxi in to Peebles which is a beautiful town with lovely shops, bars, restaurants and walks

Louise’s place was everything I could ask for. It had all the things I needed in the room. It was a very comfortable stay even though I had a shared bathroom. The location was also near town and I could easily take the bus to the city. She’s also very accommodating and responsive. She gave me extra blankets and a yoga mat to borrow when I requested for one. More than just the friendly welcome, the house was also very beautiful. I adored the decoration and the books so much. It was an affordable stay and could not have asked for a better stay and host!

This place is a true gem, a country house in the old style, lived-in but immaculately maintained, set in idyllic peaceful grounds with a (swimmable) river running through them — trout rising, rhododendrons and ducks and hens and even a heron... All that was needed for perfection was the perfect hostess, and Fiona delivered on that score, with a warm welcome, pots of tea and coffee at key moments, delicious home-made breakfast and general willingness to help with everything I needed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Ivana and Tosin were great hosts. They were friendly and accomodating. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. Edinburgh is 30mins by car. The bus stop is just a minute away but we didnt end up using it. They also kept in touch often to make sure we were well settled. It was nice chatting with Ivana about travel and cats! We will definitely return on our next visit to Edinburgh!

Lovely single room in family home

I really enjoyed meeting Mairi and staying with her family in their home. She was very friendly and helpful, even letting me borrow a flask to take my pre-made lunch out on a day trip. The location was beautiful and private yet also very close to a bus stop with several buses that went into town. I appreciated being able to use the kitchen and laundry facilities as well. This was a great place and a lovely stay.

Glenternie house is a beautiful home rich in history. The interior decorations have been kept true to the period the house was built. Although it does not qualify as a manor house, due to comparatively smaller land area, it has the look and feel of a manor house, with all the tradition that comes with it. The house was easy to find using online map applications. Plenty of parking. The location is out in the country of the Scottish Borders and is one of the quietest, most peaceful places I have ever stayed in. Plenty of room to get out and stretch your legs, and a beautiful garden to wander around in. We agreed to the in house dinner offered by Lucy. The food was amazing, far better than we had in most restaurants. Lucy was very attentive and answered the myriad of questions we had as newcomers to the UK, and Scottish Borders. The bed was very large and comfortable, with an ensuite tub and bathroom and beautiful decor. Definitely would stay again.
