The check-in instructions were very polite, and I was grateful for the quick response. The inn was a very relaxing space surrounded by special furniture. The air I breathed in the morning in the veranda garden was very pleasant. It was a place I would definitely like to stay again!

40 minutes by train from Kyoto! A private old house with a garden view, open-air bath, and mini-kitchen

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a truly wonderful stay at this house in a village near Kyoto. The home is incredibly cozy and spacious, with a stunning inner garden that brings such peace and serenity — a perfect place to relax and unwind. The house is in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. It beautifully blends traditional architecture with modern comforts and technologies. The hosts were extremely welcoming and kind. I couldn’t be happier with our stay — we enjoyed every moment and left with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

Satoyama stay & Exclusive Tours with Local guide

AyakoRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The house as well as the experience was amazing, it is much more beautiful than the photos. It’s one of the most beautiful renovated Japanese homes I’ve been in. The hosts are really friendly and helpful to give us recommendations which made our trip so enjoyable. If I travel to Gifu again I’d definitely stay again!

A Japanese style house for group staying.

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Big old traditional Japanese house with a large classical Japanese garden. The house is very spacious, mainly furnished in Japanese style, but also contains a couple of rooms with Western furniture (sofas, chairs, tables, cupboards). The kitchen has all supplies in the world including the inside Japanese grill; unfortunately there is only one bathroom. The amount of decorative objects is almost overwhelming, the owner is definitely a collector, everything from ceramics to woodblock prints, from wood carvings to stone sculptures -- fun, idiosyncratic, interesting. The owner Kazuo Yoshihara is warm and hospitable and friendly; he speaks English and he is a very interesting person, we wish we had more time to spend and talk with him. The only thing we weren't wild about was the location - we thought the house was in the mountains but it was still located in the Seki City, although the garden well compensate for that. Thank you, Kazuo, we loved our stay.

INUYAMA BASE, a charming hideaway in Inuyama for families and friends, can accommodate up to 8 people

mihoRating, 5 stars4 days ago
I used it with my friends in 4 cars. The south side parking space was very convenient as it could park two cars, a station wagon and a minivan, and the remaining two cars were parked in the coin parking lot in front of Haguro Station (300 yen per day, 5 minutes on foot). The building itself was old as described in the listing, but the interior was nice, the bath and kitchen were renovated, and it was compact, clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were clean, so I was able to rest with peace of mind. It was a sofa dining room, and it was comfortable to sit in, and the kitchen was right nearby, so even when we were cooking, we could still talk and everyone had a peaceful time. The host's guidance was polite, and I had a pleasant time without any inconvenience during my stay. I'd love to stay again if I get the chance!
