This is the old house rental [Kokoro]. This is a private house that can be rented out to one group per day, where you can feel the abundant nature of Shiga Prefecture close at hand and enjoy rural life. It is a nice, old, calm space that can accommodate up to 10 people. Please relax with your family and friends. It is about 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, and if you come by train, it is about 20 minutes by bus or 10 minutes by taxi from Adogawa Station on the JR Kosai Line. It is popular with overseas guests, families, and groups. We also rent out a BBQ set (equipment) for a fee, so please feel free to ask. There is free parking available on the property. Parking is available for up to 3 regular-sized vehicles. For large vehicles, it may be difficult to accommodate three, so please inquire in advance. If you consult with us in advance, we can also rent out space for a fee. We also offer free bicycle rentals. There are also plenty of outdoor facilities in the surrounding area, so please use it as a base for your activities. Please also use it as a base while cycling around Lake Biwa. A house in a quiet villa area on the shore of Lake Biwa, Rinkusho. A location surrounded by a peaceful countryside, with a white sand and green pine lake spread out in front of it. You can enjoy the seasonal natural scenery within a 100-step walk, adjacent to Lake Biwa and the Wadatara River. Blue sky, expansive lake, white sand, and green trees. Sunrise and sunset over the lake. In winter, you can play in the snow in the park by the lake and watch the water birds and swans playing in the water, in spring, you can cycle along the lakeside road and enjoy the cherry blossoms, in summer, you can swim in the lake, fish, and have a barbecue in the garden, and in autumn, you can enjoy the rich pastoral landscape dyed golden... Forget about your daily routine and have a relaxing time. Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
