There are so many easy ways to unwind and relax here in Whitstable. The train station is a 10 minute walk and very pleasant if you come through Stream Walk which is a pedestrian cut through on the way from the station. The Cathedral city of Canterbury is nearby and makes a fascinating historic alternative to chilling out on the beach if you want to absorb some culture while you are here for good measure! Either take the bus or a taxi if you have not brought your own car. Margate which is undergoing a revival is 20 minutes on the train. There you can enjoy the Turner Contemporary art gallery and lots of vintage shopping in the Old Town and the amusement park Dreamland which has recently reopened having been restored. Other towns along the coast worth exploring are Broadstairs and Ramsgate for their different styles of beach walks. Whitstable is only 90 minutes on road or rail from London.
