Lake house vacation rentals in Essex

What a beautiful place to stay - right next to a nature reserve, with the oyster catchers and curlews calling at night and wildlife wandering into the garden. But also very close to pubs, coffee shop and the sea. Great if you like birds, wildlife and peace and quiet.

My wife & I really enjoyed staying at Nkechinyere & Valdas' place. The place was neat, clean & cosy, we had everything that we needed for a couple of nights' stay. And most of all, the hosts themselves were lovely people, very helpful & proactive. Thank you very much, Nkechi & Valdas!

We had a short but wonderful stay, during the half term break. There was so much to do in the local area for the kids, with a good park just at the end of the road as well. We always drove, and the town centre was less than five mins away. Same as the beachfront with all the amusements, restaurants, and Adventure Island which was perfect for the kids. The house itself was very good, with parking. Very spacious with lounge, dining area, and a beautiful kitchen. I also managed to get some work done in the "study area" too. All round a good stay.

The room is very cozy and comfortable with all the necessities to feel good! There is everything you need in the rest of the house and it was nice to share the spaces with the other people who live there, with whom I had a good chat. Perfect for a short stay in Harwich!

Absolutely beautiful, very relaxing place, you feel like your really in the middle of nowhere. Had a beautiful hamper On arrival with so much stuff it really was appreciated. Very clean and nice dog walks around the lake. Lots of cleaning products which was great too. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyable stay for me and two work colleagues, Dean was able to communicate with us on arrival and we felt right at home. Rooms are a great size and the scenic view from the windows was a great way to wake up. Will definitely stay again when working in the area.

My stay at Jeanette’s place was really lovely, I had nice, clear instructions on how to get in, and once in I was really pleased that I had chosen to stay here. Jeanette had bought some extra treats for me - which included a pint of milk, and it’s the little things like that, that make all the difference! And for my two dogs, there was a pack of treats, which they really enjoyed! The place was perfect for relaxing and enjoying some peaceful time away from work. Having the park directly opposite was also great to run the dogs out for some exercise! All-in-all a really lovely stay, will likely book again next time I’m working in the area ☺️

Absolutely amazing. Beautiful inside and the grounds were even better. I booked this for my mum 60th birthday and we all had an incredible time. All rooms were beautiful with a lovely kitchen too, even better the welcome pack they leave you. The wrap around veranda was the highlight for us, we spent most of the days on that with the hot tub, we were lucky enough to have good weather so we could really make the most of it. The fishing lake was lovely my partner fished and enjoyed it. The owner was always happy to answer any questions whenever I needed them. Thankyou so much.

The property was very clean and smelt lovely when we walked through the door. The place was as described, and close to bus links. the nearest train station, Abbey Wood is about a 35 minute walk away. The area is very quiet. We only stayed one night and weren't in the property for much of the time, but it suited our needs. Ideal size for a group of people or large family. I had minimal contact with Kevin as there wasn't any reason to message him, but what contact I had, Kevin responded to.

Fantastic location and easy to walk to local shops and restaurants. The street was very quiet and it was easy to get inside with the lock box. We had an initial issue finding parking but Adnan swiftly assisted and got it sorted for us! The house itself was clean and comfortable, perfect for our family stay for 1 night. Had everything we needed for our stay!

Me and my family had a lovely stay here! Georgina is a lovely host, very helpful and responsive and made our overall stay very welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here as both the space and host were great. Thank you Georgina :)

Had a family stay at Maria’s place - 2 adults and 4 children. House was clean and spacious, plenty of room for anyone. (And plenty of bathrooms which is important for a family this size.) Maria was very responsive and we had no issues finding the place. Nearby was a lovely spacious park where kids could tire themselves out. Very positive experience.

We really enjoyed staying in the house. Comfortable beds and plenty of space. Really clean, tidy and well looked after. The host was very responsive and replied quickly to messages when we were booking. The house is in a great location, close to Harlow train station and has plenty of space for parking.

Hannah is an amazing host! She gave clear detailed instructions, recommendations and is very quick to respond to questions. She even left us a bottle of wine and we felt very welcome in her home. The house itself is super spacious and cosy, with a great kitchen and amazing garden. The surrounding area was peaceful and felt super safe. We absolutely loved Hannah’s place and wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will definitely book again if back in the area.

5/5 Stars - A Home Away from Home! We recently had the pleasure of staying at Melanie's beautiful Airbnb, and it exceeded our expectations in every way! The house is absolutely precious, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The location is fantastic, with a Tesco just around the corner and the railway station within walking distance. It's the perfect base for exploring the area, and Melanie's thoughtful recommendations were spot on. Melanie is an exceptional host - friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in ensuring her guests have a wonderful stay. Her attention to detail and kindness made all the difference to our trip. Excellent space with Donatus, I loved it!!

We stayed here the night before our wedding at a nearby wedding venue. The place was clean, well equipped and very well presented. Everything was new and the place was great. Lots of room, bigger than we thought. We only stayed one night but would be a great place for a longer stay.

Very quiet Thanks

This is our second visit and now our “go to” place for a girlie catch up. The Lodge is immaculate, quality furnishings, quirky inside and out and best of all peaceful. Matt greeted us and showed us the basics and how to use the hot tub and brought wood for the fire pit and gave us some great local recommendations. We had fairly good weather so took the goat for a walk (the little one didn’t want to join in!!). We wasn’t there for the fishing but the walk around the lake is amazing and we got to chat to John and another member of staff, who were both extremely friendly. The kitchen is well stocked and beds are comfy. Would highly recommend.
